I just want a Panda in a blue tuxedo/suit. o_o I'd do it myself, but then it'd all be like, one solid blue color... I'm not very good with stuff like variation.
If anyone could help me out that'd be awesomeee <3
Oh deary me. Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear. This is not going to do.
So, with my weird roleplay overwith, I would like to tell you hello and try to show you how getting staff for a server works best. So, first of all, what the hell do you want us do? "hey guys!" with nothing else doesn't quite cut it. If I hadn't posted this post, this thread probably would have been taken down for something like "lack of discussion value" or some term. You need to actually ask people what you want them to do because (wow!) believe it or not (oh boy!) no one can read your mind. Sorry. Humans are so inept, I know. Generally even if you post an application format, you're going to get crap-tons of trolls and greifers. 1/10 people who answer your application will be genuine in some small way. That's why I don't recommend it. Below I will show you the two best ways to find people who would make good staff.
I recommend going on servers or the forums, and finding naturally helpful/nice/knowledgable people and asking them to be staff. (Using the forums does not mean posting a thread! Does not! I will explain how to use the forums to find staff later). This method (going on servers) is BY FAR the best method of finding reliable people to help you, because it eliminates griefers if you have good judgement, and also shows you the person's true character because they don't know you are offering them power/giving them your trust (which is something people know if you do application format, and that attracts bad staff AKA trolls/greifers).
The forums is the perfect place to do this, because you can check what people have posted as well. (You can do this here, but take a look at your candidates. All new accounts. A sign/hint perhaps?) Take ducky215 for example. (Loads of other helpful people on forums btw, this is just one I know and like) He has 500 some posts and nearly all of them are helping people, and he is extremely knowledgeable about what he helping people with. You find someone like that, and you know you have someone who would make great staff, regardless of whether they join your server. Also, they are guaranteed to be polite to you, because you flattered them with your offer of trust, and (if you picked well) they are nice people in general. Do not do this by posting an application thread. Just look around the forums and find a person who consistently answers the "I need help" posts. Also, look for someone who helps people with servers, because you're looking for someone who knows about servers.
On servers, you can easily find someone who is mature, nice, helpful, and smart by watching how they play and what they do in chat. If you see someone who said (after they lost) "gg nice strafe bro, caught me off my feet there" you can tell that person is pretty nice and a good sport about losing (easy way of finding awesome people. good losers = great people). You'd then follow that person to their next match and say, you'd see them find someone stuck in a hole (or some problem). Said person would then help person out of the hole (help fix problem, even though they have no reason too). You now have a pretty good idea that this person is nice. You'd then randomly ask the person for help on say, one of the more complicated things on the server. If they help you and know how to fix the problem you now know this person is nice, mature, helpful, and smart. They are a good person to ask to be a staff.
I want to explain what "cheesecake questions" are. "Cheesecake questions" are implied questions/questions that are easy-to-answer in the way you they should be answered by a good person. It is like if you ask a kid what they will do if someone is getting bullied. They are pretty much guaranteed to say something like "Well, I'd walk up to the bully and tell him to stop, then get a teacher." Even the bully will answer this question as such. While, the reality is, 80-90% of kids just stand there and watch or leave. These questions provide no insight to said person, simply because it has an implied answer. Like you asking someone what they will do if they see a griefer. Nobody's going to say "Well that's what I plan on doing to your server" or "Laugh because the owner is a nub" (not implying you are, this is just for examples sake). 99% of players will say "Ban him because griefing is against the rules." just because it is a question that is easy to answer in the way you want it to be.
If you HAVE TO (avoid this method at all costs) use this application forum format to get staff, don't use cheesecake questions. Ask open-ended questions like "Explain a situation when you helped another player with a problem." This sounds simple, but it is actually a very good question. You can tell whether the person gives a **** and if they are lazy by the length of their answer. You can tell how mature/smart they are by the grammar they use and the situation they give. You can also tell how nice they are by there described reaction to they player's problem (This part is a bit tricky, you have to infer a lot). I also recommend making some really long questions and rules as another way to determine if they care, and ask questions about what you hid in your giant wall of text. Also, ask them "Please add a question that you think I should have put here" because this can tell you many different things about the person, but sadly I cannot explain this one very well.
As a final warning, I recommend you ignore all people who have less than 15 or so posts, regardless of how perfect their app is. This is simply because making alternate accounts for malicious purposes is a extremely common practice. There are exceptions to this, but if someone has less than 15 posts and they sound genuine, wait until they have enough posts and then go look at them (browse profile). You should be able to tell what I'm getting at here. If their other posts aren't genuine, then they might not be what they appear on your thread.
God this thing was long. I should make my own thread about this lol. Also, sorry for the starting rudeness, it is simply a tactic to get you to read my huge post completely. Doesn't always work, but FAR better than not doing it.
Hope this helps and Cheers, ~Fugu
As to people who say tl;dr or "Nice book" I say TL?DR or Too Long? Don't Reply. (I don't like lazy people, I know this last bit is negative but I come close to breaking my computer when someone says tl;dr). Cheers again, hope this helps.
Jebus H Crackers. That was a time invested comment. Good on you m8.
Well, there's the fix. Much better. Still some of the same problems as stated in above post though. Some of my rudeness looks unecesary now D : Oh well. You still didn't say what you wanted us to do. Make someone give a to be staff on your server, not just "Ooh, I can haz staff? With no effort? Yay!"
Minecraft Name: Should be Aldac, I've been trying to change it from Andersfriend to Aldac but I'm not sure if it's working. Age: 17, turn 18 in September. Position: Builder or Moderator. Why do you want it: I like dealing with people, and I'm the kind of person who very much likes to do things by the book. As far as being a builder goes, I enjoy coming up with new and different ideas to try on a server. I'm actually looking into becoming an architectural engineer as a possible future career. Contact info: iTurtle.Skype or [email protected] or this account. Other I like tacos, turtles, monkeys, squirrels, hamsters, tacos, cheese, and tacos.

I've no interest in making staff for your server. I'm just looking for some low-key ,low community, survival server where's its actually SURVIVAL. Not all that bull crap with giant spawn cities with plot worlds. I just wanna spawn run around and survive with people.
Name:Mickael Location:Texas Age:16 What can you offer the community?: Good with getting newcomers on there feet with safe places to stay over nights, also good with mining techniques. Favorite game: Farcry 3. How often can you play?: Daily. Skype?: Yes.
Tell me about yourself: I'm a dude, been playin' minecraft on and off for about a year, in high school, and apparently would survive a creeper apocalypse for 30 days.
Idk if you're going with that server but there's this new low-community server. No real buildings everything's just kinda low-quality and spread out. Most people are pretty young too. There's not really anything on it except for a few spread out wooden plank homes, there's no whitelist either. If you want the IP PM me.
How old are you(leave blank if you dont want to say): 16 How will you help the server:I enjoy having a sense of responsibility and enjoy helping others with their problems. I try and pay attention to what other players complain about even when I'm not staff. I like to help in any way I can. I also like to build with others, big projects builds are what I do best and enjoy the most. I believe all players deserve attention from their server's staff. and that's what I'll give to them. How long have you been playing minecraft: one year and 5 months. What is your specialty in building (details, redstone, pixel, etc.): I'm good at big project builds. I'm good at giving directions and getting things done in a timely manner. What postition would you like: Mod, I would put Admin, but I personally believe that no one should be made admin without some sort of trust bond formed between that potential admin and the other staff around him/her. Other: I'm on almost whenever I'm home, and if I'm not on while I'm home I can get on whenever I'm needed.

A sense of maturity, be able to handle my rated R jokes.
A mic and skype. I will never ask you to cam, I only want to talk.
Preferably someone that isn't a 5 day old minecraftian. Please know your way around the game.
