I will try that hopefully it will keep the animals separate too. I have been finding cows with the sheep pigs with the chickens sheep with the pigs, etc.

I just loaded an imported world after updating, in creative mode, and I am unable to exit the mine carts. The only way to get out is to exit the map, change to survival and then kill myself somehow

posted a message on A problem of wolves and sheep
Alright, so I am having a problem keeping sheep alive for wool farming. Some how, despite my best efforts, wolves keep killing off my sheep. I don't know how and I am at a loss as to how to prevent it. The setup I have involves four pens, as I have other animals fenced in. The sheep are in a center pen, with a wall of stone brick for the back, and for the roof, the back of the pens also has a very large drop off. I also have a second set of fencing starting at the side walls of the pens, which are also stone brick, going back 7 blocks and are two blocks high. Looks kind of like this:

I still keep loosing sheep. I know they are dying because there is wool left lying on the ground after they disappear, but it only happens when I am away from the pens. Am I missing something, is this a bug or is this just bad design planning? I did leave the floors of the pens as grass, simply to expedite wool collection.

posted a message on Microsoft purchasing minecraft
If Ballmer, Whitten and Mattrick were still running things, I would say the Playstation version would be dead in the water after the acquisition. The fact that Notch didn't approach Microsoft until after Nadella and Spencer were in their respective divisions is somewhat telling. Notch went from proclaiming that MS was trying to destroy the PC with Windows 8 to approaching them looking to sell in two years. I would have hesitant optimism, especially since it seems they are trying to realign to a more gamercentric course with Xbox. I think Mojang is going to be an independently operated subsidiary after purchase for the time being. If the stooges were in charge, they'd gut it for everything of value, leaving a withered husk behind.

This thread allows other users to list bugs they have experienced, offer and view solutions and workarounds.

    • Items in Chests are disappearing - Possibly related to saving away from the host or being outwith the initial spawn area
    • Create world crashing with 2 players - TO BE CONFIRMED
    • Missing chunks
    • Framerate Issues - MORE INFORMATION REQUIRED
    • Crash on Exiting and Saving (Exit game) - causes corrupt world.
    • Glass Blocks placed next too each other appear incorrectly
    • Issues with Efficiency tools.
    • Quiet Sounds ingame
    • Spawners appearing incorrectly (Turning into Pig spawners) - TO BE CONFIRMED
    • Server appearing as full.
    • Worlds taking a long time to update chunks (Chunks pop in at once)
    • Invisibility potions not working correctly - TO BE CONFIRMED
    • Mining Animation is incorrect
    • Wolves not attacking players on Peaceful - TO BE CONFIRMED
    • Unable to hide Mash-up Pack worlds
    • Duplication Glitches
    • Invisible Players - MORE INFORMATION REQUIRED
On the framerate issues, I normally encounter it after exploring very large areas of the world. Using the largest, about 1 1/2 to 2 ingame maps worth of area. Interestingly, when returning to a previously explored area during the same game, the area chunks don't reload, they seem to already be present

posted a message on world map issues
    Quote from Mustache_Guy»
The Xbox One worlds are 5120 by 5120 or so compared to the Xbox 360s 864 by 864.

A single map cannot cover that world. If it is showing your icon all the way at the bottom, it means you've walked beyond where that map shows. You need to craft another map in that new area and open while there. The new map will show you the new area.

Ah, but the maps in PC can zoom out to 2048x2048. Why wouldn't it be possible to do something similar on the console versions? You have to be to the point of finding Redstone to make the new maps in the first place, unless you get real lucky while exploring, it takes a little while to get to that point, especially if you are new to minecraft.

There seems to be a problem with animals and barriers. I will often have animals clip through both fences and solid walls. Or they will appear outside of the fenced area and the suddenly "jump" back into the fenced area. Especially frustrating when wolves clip into the sheep pens. Also, wolves are able to attack through fencing to get to penned in sheep.

Could you screenshot the issue you are seeing with the map?

I did a short clip instead showing what is going on regarding the map.

On one of my imported maps, I have a few glass block platforms at layer 128, with a rail system. When exiting one of the minecarts, the glass blocks make their breaking sound, and I fall through. However when I get back onto the platform I fell through, all of the glass blocks are intact. Also when using the map, when you reach the old boundries present in the 360/PS3 versions, the player icon almost completely disappears from the map and it does not update with the rest of the area you are in. The map area needs to be increased for the new world sizes.

posted a message on Chunks missing from map
There is a little more to it than that, I am having the same problem on one of my saves. It would seem as though the chunks are not being visually rendered, but the game is still detecting they are there, as you cannot pass through the missing areas, but if you say try to place a block or object in those missing areas, you place in the targeted, visible surface. In some cases you may also get a block outline for the blocks that are supposed to be there, but are not being visually render, such as in the screenshot I am posting. These ones you can break, and all the missing blocks in your field of view show up then.
Here is another really good example:

posted a message on MCXBLA Official Known Bugs List [Updated for 1.8.2]
I have another one: If you have torches placed on a column or some such, and mine the individual blocks out of underneath the torches, the torches will drop, but there will still be a graphic of the torches, as if still on a block(see attached screenshot) additionally, if you break the Schrodinger's torches(they are there but not there), they will not drop another torch, and if they are above another block, they will appear on the block diagonal down from where it was at, and will continue to reappear if you break them. The only way to make them stop doing so is to place a torch on the same block, then break it.

I have a couple. First, when you sneak, you can still fall off of blocks. Very bad if you are at extreme heights or working near lava.Second if you place a water source at layer above the top most layer, it will cause rain to fall through all blocks below that water source, as somewhat shown in this screen shot.

posted a message on Game Freezes when entering The Nether...still. (After update)
Two things on this: Number one, the dupe glitch, which was supposed to have largely been fixed with the update, has nothing to do with the op. I myself have been experiencing this issue, and I absolutely refuse to use the dupe glitch. Number two, this is one of a few issues going to/from the nether, the others being that you would instead be transported to The Void, as well as bad spawn points upon first entering the nether. One of those problems corrected with the update patch.

I do have my doubts that saving while in the nether is what is causing the problem, as I save prior to entering the nether, and experience the freezing after spending mere moments in it. My advice is to save prior to entering, turn off auto saves while in the nether, and otherwise avoid it unless you need to get something from there. Frustrating, yes, but hopefully the upcoming version update patch will allay the problems

posted a message on 1.7.3 update set for July
Alright let me put it to you this way: there is translating 4 version updates into one, from JAVA to C++(programming language stated by 4JStu), there is play testing for any obvious bugs, in addition to ensuring that the version update does not create any new problems with the bug fix.

After all of that, it goes to Microsoft for test and approval for release on to live market. If they spot anything they feel would cause problems, or would be otherwise unsatisfactory(don't laugh folks, this isn't Windows), then it is back to 4J to correct the problem. Now we have two options on this matter, they can do it fast, or they can do it right. You cannot have it both ways in this matter. I personally would prefer it done right.

I have said this before, instant gratification is a myth, the game was released two weeks ago, and its going to be approximately another month and a week before the version update, give or take a week. In that time, there is going to be an in-between bug patch to correct noted issues on the bug megathread.
