The Agent dives behind cover in expectation that a .33kt hafnium bomb will create quite a flash, only to swiftly realize it has not detonated as predicted.

Looking out, he watches curiously as an intense sphere of gamma radiation and slow neutrons is slowed to a crawl, their forms warped by the B-Ball energies to such a degree that they have become visible to the naked eye. A moment later, the intense wave of esoteric B-power washes over him, causing instant catastrophic organ failure, then cellular breakdown, followed immediately by painful death and slow melting into a puddle.

After the initial energy-wave passes by, his implants spark back into activity, propelling a signal through the ether.

It would appear we have lost a scout.

    Further investigation will be needed.

    Dispose of the remains.

The remaining two warheads, now spattered with unpleasant person-goo, detonate in a cleansing fireball, obliterating everything within thirty meters or so before inundating it with a strongly adhesive incendiary cocktail.

Some twenty thousand degrees Hence and a few hours Then along the Seventh Meridian, the outdated Extraction vessel Pluto receives new orders. It, and its escorts, are to travel quite a few Clusters out of their intended path, in order to construct a forward operations base. A new Great War has been found.

    Charge, b'cause why not; 1/40

+2 to Erelye, also because why not.

I have no idea what's going on, and little inclination to fix that.

Earth Human-Amp wouldn't really care whether or not the game let his computer disconnect, he literally just incinerated the clandestine base he was using until Binary found him with the Tesseract's engines, and every computer in it.

If you really just can't leave, retconbot says he carried his least crappy laptop to the ship with him.

    Aboard the Tardis;

H3's nearly-irrelevant avatarbot wakes back up yet again, having hidden in a corner for communications this time. It heads to the cargo bay to help unload crates, nuclear-powered utility bots being good at that sort of thing.

"I apologize for my repeated inactivity, Eric. I really would like to if not join the IUPC, certainly open a working relationship. For that matter, I'll need a place to stay while I repair the damage to myshipself from the War. Mind if I use this place's orbit?"

Ruin. Ruin and ash. Godcraft is dead.

Both halves of Amperzand log off, their burned and broken avatars fizzling into nothingness. No need for goodbyes. Communications are not cut off, and the dead are too many to grieve.

On Earth, the battered hull of the warship Tesseract warps into being over the western US, a hundred-fifty meter missile ship running on nuclear torch engines and armored to withstand direct strategic-yield bombardment causing understandable consternation, even after all that has happened. It doesn't stay long, though. The bulky black thing sets down near a small town, and accepts a single passenger, and youngish male with very odd eyes and a distinctly familiar expression of casual pyromania, before firing its engines again, burning nearly three hundred acres of forest and irradiating the area to somewhat unsafe levels in the twenty-minute interval before it reaches orbit again, disappearing in a flash of voidlight and a scanner-frying wave of anomalous readings.

A datapulse flies through the void, long and long, to reach Anachron and notify it of the war's impending true ending. It's safe. You can leave the deep void again.

The human male now aboard Tesseract in its long voyage takes a few hours to properly meet the forty or so crewmembers, not all of them human, then runs a program or two on one of the ship's secondary terminals.

Subjectively, it's less than five minutes before the strangely duplicated avatars of Amp and Zand reappear, making apologies for their sudden departure, and settle in to watch things end.

And Tesseract sails on through the Void, heading deeper with every superluminal second, traveling the long and dangerous path to truly inter-universal travel.

I open fire on the Employer, Dynamic Deathbringer and Recoil Scoper sending a hail of ultra-high-mass kinetic penetrators, entropic shrapnel, polyelemental chaos, and the occasional mini-nuke or thaumic particle beam to keep things interesting.
