    The Fire Golems
After a lot of incidents with Water Golem rebellions and stuff, many new Golem types have been created after a period of 11 turns. The Fire Golems have seen that new groups of people have come to the continent that they have emerged on, and realize that they should be fortified for an inevitable war.
F'woosh has decreed that all slaves must be well guarded and is angered by the uncontrollable Steam Golem. He has also given the first Iron Golem the name K'zshakk and the career of Blacksmith. The Mud and Stone Golems have been tasked with mining out supplies for the creation of more Iron Golems.
New Fire Golems will also be brought out of the ground next turn.

    Defining new Golem types:
    Mud Golem
    - Ballistics/Swords - (semi-solid) immune
    - Explosions - reconstitutes after 5 turns
    - Lasers/Plasma - revert it to an Earth Golem
    - Magic - may do any of the above

    Lava Golem
    - Ballistics/Swords - (semi-solid) immune, but damages armour
    - Explosions - reconstitutes after 5 turns as a Fire Golem
    - Lasers/Plasma - enough heat "damage" and it turns back to a Fire Golem
    - Magic - may do any of the above

    Earth Golem
    - Ballistics/Swords - (solid) normal damage
    - Explosions - utterly destroyed
    - Lasers/Plasma - normal damage
    - Magic - may do any of the above

    Swamp Golem
    - Ballistics/Swords - (semi-solid) immune
    - Explosions - reconstitutes after 5 turns as a Water Golem
    - Lasers/Plasma - revert it to an Earth Golem
    - Magic - may do any of the above

    Steam Golem
    - Ballistics/Swords - (gaseous) immune
    - Explosions - reconstitutes after 1 turn
    - Lasers/Plasma - immune
    - Magic - may do any of the above, or potentially turns it into a Storm Golem, which would be a Bad Idea

    Iron Golem
    - Ballistics/Swords - (solid) take less-than-normal damage
    - Explosions - can be fixed in 5 turns in the Forge
    - Lasers/Plasma - turns it into Molten Metal, which can be Reshaped
    - Magic - may do any of the above, or may make it Rust

    Glass Golem
    - Ballistics/Swords - (solid) high damage
    - Explosions - destroy it
    - Lasers/Plasma - turn it into Molten Glass, which can be Reshaped
    - Magic - may do any of the above

    *Not a ninja post*
Due to final exams, my next (actual) post will likely take place on the 20th of December.
Over these next ten days, the Fire Golem civilization will continue to do things inactively.
As a preview of what will happen over those next ten days:

    Research:
    - Water Golem + walking around = Mud Golem
    - Stone Golem + fire whipping = Lava Golem
    - Mud Golem + time = Earth Golem
    - Mud Golem + water = Swamp Golem
    - Water Golem + tripping into fire = Steam Golem
    - Steam Golem + fight with Stone Golem = Iron Ore Pile, Sand Pile, Clay Pile
    - Iron Ore Pile + Fire Golem = Iron Golem
    - Sand Pile + Fire Golem = Glass Golem

    Resources:
    - >9000 Dirt
    - 8000 Stone
    - Clay Pots full of Water
    - 5000 Iron Ore (need 9001 and Fire Golem to "build" an Iron Golem)
    - 100 Clay
    - 300 Copper

    Population (after ten turns):
    - Water Golems - 5
    - Fire Golems - 12
    - Stone Golems - 2
    - Mud Golems - 3
    - Lava Golems - 1
    - Earth Golems - 3
    - Swamp Golems - 2
    - Steam Golems - 1
    - Iron Golems - 1
    - Glass Golems - 1

    The Fire Golems

The Fire Golems have lost a slave today, and F'woosh is very ticked off. The failed captor is sentenced to hard labour forever. The changing of Fire Golem into Stone Golem has intrigued F'woosh, though, and he summons another Fire Golem and Water Golem from the depths. He intends to use both of them in some sort of freakish experiment to create some new golem.

The sudden de-rezzing of the entire world was noticed by the golems and they respond by flinging liquid fire all around them, especially at the sky.

The golem scout that spotted the "The Stripe" soldiers returns with the news to F'woosh. F'woosh promptly sends the scout back to make sure the "puny pink insects" try nothing funny. If something even remotely "funny" is tried, he is told to respond with extreme prejudice and plenty of fire-power.

The king then realizes his unintentional joke and returns to a neutral mood.

[No time to make a new pic today, may edit one in later]

    *New golem type!*
    Stone Golems:

Ballistics/Physical Weapons - normal damage (for a golem)
Explosions/Missiles/Nukes - (solid) entirely destroy the golem if explosion is strong enough
Lasers/Plasma - turn it into a Lava Golem upon long exposure to heat; if exposure is extremely long, Stone Golems revert entirely into Fire Golems.
Magic - depending on type, may cause destruction, mutation into a different golem type or nothing (you reeeally have to try to make Nothing happen, though...).
Notes: Probably one of the weaker golem types; solid-state golems can be entirely destroyed by being shattered to pieces; will also be used as a basis for multiple "golem alchemies"; can also handle resources safely.

    Research:
The Water Golem has escaped and is swimming in a north-easterly direction. It will wind up at New Elmachia's harbour in 6-7 turns if not intercepted by another civ (or New Elmachia itself). Its Fire Golem captor jumped in the ocean to attempt to catch it, but turned into a Stone Golem (100%) and, consequently, became too slow to catch the Water Golem and returned unsuccessfully to F'woosh. In response to the Stone Golem's failure, it has been named Jeremy (which sounds nothing like the noises stones should make) and has been forced to build a giant stronghold to house the civilization. It is being "whipped" with globs of liquid fire to work faster by fellow Fire Golems (Lava Golems, 20%).

    Resources:
    Dirt, 200 units
    Stone, 50 units

    Buildings:
    Stronghold, 5%:
    - Walls, 25%

    Population:
    Fire Golems - 6
Water Golems - 2 (-1 which no longer belongs to my civ)
    Stone Golems - 1

Can fire golems swim through lava?

Yup, they're made of liquid fire, which makes them immune to heat sources (hence the immunity to lasers). The reason why they can't swim through water will be found in my next turn-post-thing.

    Water golems?

Nope. Water Golems turn into Steam Golems upon immersion in lava. As Steam Golems are vapour, they can fly, but they can't swim at all. They will not be able to fit their molecules into a missile launcher, for instance, and take control of it either, because then they would indeed be very OP.

    Do golems breathe?

Nope. They stay alive through some deus ex machina life force, hence the various turning-into-other-elements-upon-being-faced-with-different-albeit-logical-near-death-scenarios.

As a heads-up, I'm not going to have any Time/Ethereal/Gravity/Energy Golems or anything of that sort. They're way too OP and unformable with the element chains that I've started with.

I'll try to maintain logical combinations amongst my golems. I'm guessing that my most OP golems will be Steam (you can't hit it and it can fly, but remember that the original Water Golem that it is made of is good at its core), Diamond (very resistant to practically any attack) and Obsidian (almost the same as Diamond).

Since Steam, like I said, will be good, and Diamond will require the combination of three different, higher-tier golems, one of which will be good (the golems aren't terribly smart, so this "recipe" will remain very elusive), and Obsidian will require a very special case to form (think Minecraft-wise), the world is relatively safe from golem superpowers for the time being. :biggrin.gif:

If you wish to experiment upon Water Golems, feel free to ask to get the escapee. As long as your experiments wait for my input as to what the result is, they will successfully go to completion. Once the Water Golem knows you won't hurt it or any of its kind (by "hurt", I mean turn it into something solid and then smash it) and as long as you give it freedom, it will remain your loyal test subject (since it has only known servitude for all of its life, it won't mind servitude so long as it is not a slave).

Arghh... I wanted people to figure this stuff out and fight the golems creatively, but, I guess I have to answer this stuff...

What if we attempt to freeze a water golem or a fire golem?

Freezing a Water Golem creates an Ice Golem, which is made of solid material and can be shattered into smithereens, never to live again. Why you would want to kill a Water Golem is beyond me, though, as they are nice once they realize you can be trusted. As to what happens when you cool a Fire Golem, the answer will be revealed on my next turn. :biggrin.gif:

Can water golems/fire golems pass through walls?

Lol, no. That would be terribly OP. All of my golems will be made of some sort of matter.

    Can fire golems swim?

    Answered next turn.

This is starting to look a tad OP...

It's meant to look that way... read the intro to my first post.

The trick is to abuse element combinations to turn the golems into something "more defeatable". Remember, liquid and semi-liquid golems can reconstitute in 3 and 5 turns respectively, and no one is stopping you from collecting "defeated golem bits" between these reconstitution turns, effectively ending the reconstitution.

@Moe3219: Hey, hey, hey, at least give me a chance to expand and get some sort of plot started before gathering an attack troop together! Not all of my golems will be evil.

But still, to be fair, I will give a run-down of what each golem type's strengths and weaknesses will be as I introduce the types:
    Water:
Ballistics/Physical Weapons - immune (bullets and swords can't hurt water)
Explosions/Missiles/Nukes - (liquid) reconstitutes after 3 turns (all liquid/semi-liquid golems will; all golems can be contained during this period)
Lasers/Plasma - evaporate it into a Steam Golem
Magic - depending on type, may cause reconstitution in 3 turns, mutation into a different golem type or nothing.
Notes: Will not fight unless provoked; years of slavery have taught them to be timid.

    Fire:
Ballistics/Physical Weapons - immune (have you ever cut a fire? Didn't think so.)
    Explosions/Missiles/Nukes - (semi-liquid) reconstitutes after 5 turns
    Lasers/Plasma - immune
Magic - depending on type, may cause reconstitution in 5 turns, mutation into a different golem type or nothing.
Notes: The backbone of the Fire Golem civilization; they will never "die out" completely.

    The Fire Golems

The Fire created by F'woosh has grown larger. A scout has been sent inland to explore the Overworld and has spotted the boundary created by The Stripe. F'woosh will not be happy about this. A new Fire Golem has emerged from below. Also, the Nameless Water Golem is attempting an escape.

    Population:
    Fire Golems - 6
    Water Golems - 1

    Research:
Due to the break-out point's proximity to the ocean, the Nameless Water Golem has made a run for it to try and escape (it will escape and it is paranoid of others, but it can be calmed and, if well treated, will serve as a strong ally. Now, which civ wants to take it in? :smile.gif: ). Its Fire Golem captor is trying to get it back, knowing that if the slave escapes, the captor will face harsh consequences. (Stone Golems, 67%)

A new civilization has emerged from the center of the world on one of the south islands!
    The Fire Golems

The Fire Golems are a race of sentient globs of liquid fire (Lava Golems will be a different golem type) whose intent is to wreak (tolerable amounts of) havoc in the Overworld. Their leader is F'woosh, which is the one wearing the iron crown. They have already conquered the Underworld (archer skeletons, zombies and spiders don't stand a chance with these guys. Creepers, maybe...) and have taken the Water Golems as their prisoners.

[What I had in mind when inventing this civ was to create an inherently evil, somewhat-over-powered civilization. Note that their "scientific developments" will hinge solely on the "creation" of a new golem type. Each type of golem will have inherent strengths and weaknesses based on their element. The Fire Golems themselves are not able to fly, swim, or build, so the world is safe for now.]

Population (will only state above-ground golem population):
    Fire Golems - 5
    Water Golems - 1

    Research:
When F'woosh stepped out of the hole and stood on the grass for a period of time, he invented Fire (100%).
The Nameless Water Golem is having thoughts of escape. (Stone Golems, 33%)

    Resources:
    None (can't utilize/build anything yet)

posted a message on three things you like, three things you hate
    I like:
    - creating my own textures
    - owning what is essentially a giant, nigh-infinite box of Lego
    - stone pickaxes :biggrin.gif:

I dislike (hate is too strong a word for my feelings about these things):
    - how mushrooms and clay are rarer than diamond
    - how misplacing a block of lightstone means you need to break eight more to get a new one
    - that there are only two types of doors (I'd like to be able to make more types of doors)

Who says that stone can't look nice? I changed my cobblestone texture to look like square bricks.
Speaking of bricks, you can go beachcombing for clay if you want a brick house.
Oh, and you could also fire up your furnaces and use them to turn the cobblestone back into smoothstone if you don't want t o change the default texture.

Or you could look for a different texture pack entirely.

And I think that yes, you do have to surround lava entirely with glass to be safe.

On a completely different note, just create a brick/cobblestone chimney for yourself and make everything else out of wood, as long as your chimney is big enough.

posted a message on Adminium Collection?
    Technically, this is possible.

The wiki lists adminium's "temporary health" as being 18,000,000: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/TNT
And it also says that this health is brought down by some set amount due to the proximity of a TNT explosion.

You, sir, have found that 82 TNT causes 18,000,000 damage and that is how you were able to collect the block.

What does sound fishy is that no other adminium blocks were broken after all this barrage of 164 TNT...

It would be nice if you posted a video, though, as definite proof. Use Fraps or Hypercam or whatever.

posted a message on someone mind to tell me whats going on
Well, I dunno if what I have to say has all that much to do with your situation, but here goes:

One time, I just deposited everything (except a pick or two) at one of my mini-bases when I decided "Hey, why don't I check this dead-end corridor to see if a slime spawned?" (I've had 3 slimes spawn in that corridor before.)
So, I walk and walk and walk, turn the corner and I see a Creeper right at the dead end bit of the corridor. I'm guessing the thing was at least 20 blocks away from me (this is why I think this story may not apply to you; I think I was further away from my mob than you were from yours).
I think to myself "Oh noes! I'll mine this coal before that thing can explode it!" (The coal was right under me.)
So, half a minute later, I jump out of the adminium mazey-thing I just dug to get the coal, look at the end of the hall and what do I see? Nothing! The Creeper had despawned without me ever leaving the area! (Yes, I did walk all the way to the end to check if it had exploded and no, there was no explosion/damage/gunpowder/anything.)

Perhaps something like this (or some weird variation of it) was what happened to you and your mobs.
