Sort of wrong sir. Android based mobile devices can run Java and in fact based on it and the very Java compatible dalvik VM. The only reason the had to recode everything was to include apple devices because nobody there ever had the brains to include support for Java.

There is absolutely no need for anything other than what it comes with. That chip doesn't get hot enough to require it.

posted a message on ~$500 Gaming Build
You could build a amd apu system. I have a system running an a10 5800k that could handle a lot more than I throw at it playing heavily modded minecraft on max. I assume the newer ones (a10 7850k) would handle even more. That plus a decent board, 1tb western digital blue, 8gb of ram and a proper psu in the case of your choice and your set. Just remember to use a psu calculator to get how high of wattage you need and buy decently fast ram as apu's benefit exponentially from faster ram. Also you should be able to build for $500 if you don't require windows. Windows will add $100.

I would recommend that you use group manager. It is quite easy to use, I learned it a few hours. You may need this http://wiki.ess3.net/wiki/Group_Manager as it will give you the commands and a list of perms you can add and how to make groups and so on.

1 There will be a folder in your plugins folder named worldedit inside there will more folders and files and such and there will be inside the regions file.

2 What I would recommend is just replacing the world files and plugins folder but leaving the provided jar for the server intact

3 Certian versions of mc are compatible while others aren't mojang will normally tell you in the change log on their website when updates are released but yes a bukkit 1.7.2 server will be compatible with 1.7.4 clients

4 Yes normally that compatibility will be represented by the 2nd number as when that is different it represents new features where as the 3rd is NORMALLY just bug fixs as I said above they normally say on there website if it will work.

5 They will be spawned but removed immediately as they dont override as far as I know.

6 Honestly doesn't matter much unless the dev builds add new features or are required for compatibility (which with the 3 you mentioned is not the case. I have ran outdated versions of worldedit for a long time.)

You seriously call that "cheap" ? Dude, I know how hard and time consuming Coding is (I code since about 3 years and even complex Plugins) but that is just way too much. I recommend you making a table for this to calculate real Prices. If you want I can make one based on your expectations...

You realize that even at minimum wage (federal $7.25) he would only be charging for 14 hour of work right? That's not bad considering it could take longer to make a complex plugin.

posted a message on Banning Plugin With DataBase
Here is my problem, Some friends and I run a number of modded servers. We are looking for a plugin that Has a database that will record Who banned Who, Why, When, Etc. We would like it so that when a player is banned on one server they are banned on the others. Is their any plugins that can do this for us? Thanks in advance.

1 - The whitelisting seems like it's going to be a district requirement

Hardware - They are concerned that if it catches on and other schools want it, hardware expenditures would grow. Running more severs, space (100mb for each world and 30mb for each player,
Bandwidth - They aren't sure how much it would take. My suggestion (and correct me if I'm wrong) would be to set a login limit and then scale as needed as we saw what it uses.
Security - (I believe the biggie) They want to see if they can set it up on a DMZ.

Whitelisting the server is a good option and wouldn't be a very hard thing to do as you could just have the student give you his/her username and someone with OP on the server or file access could add them. The hardware is some to be concerned with as some servers go through hundreds of GBs a week, but as long as it is to a small-scale you don't have to worry to much about hard drive space. I personally would be worried more about the processing power and ram,as you would want the server to be for the most part lag free.

Also i think it would be a good idea to do perm with Group manager or something of the sort. Then you could give the teachers more perms so they would be able to do things like whitelist students, etc, but not allow them full access to all the commands. This would be good if they don't quite know what they are doing.

Know about each school getting their own build area, this could be done with a number of plugins. You could make the areas with worldguard and add the students to the area. you could use a town plugin and add the students to a town according to school and set plot for them. Also you could use a multi world plugin and make a world for each school, but be warned this way would be quite intensive on the hardware.

That laptop should suit you well. It doesn't really take very high stats to run minecraft I use to run it on a 9 year old Dell with a pentium 4 until i fryed the board. Which was great because then i had reason to build a new desktop. :)

If you have the extra cash you could build one with one of the new amd Apu. I'd recommend the A-10 6800k. I have a A-10 5800K which is the older version and i get over 200 fps. I have a 500 gb hard drive 8gbs of ram and a 500watt Power supply and I got it for around $350.

Your computer may run it on it on very low settings Cpu wise your problably fine but the graphics card is what I'd worry about. Its not exactly high end. It also will depend on what os your running and if its optimsed or not.
