If players don't have easy access to bees to get Honeycomb, then they will have to deal with oxidation whether they wanted to or not. Frankly I think just smelting it in a Furnace makes the most sense. It may not be 100% realistic but it's easy for players to understand and more straightforward.

Jancrash posted a message on Cleaning CopperPosted in: SuggestionsOxidization is a chemical reaction, so chemicals would be necessary for removal, not just heat. Gameplay is better than realism, but in situations like this, Mojang typically makes realistic additions. (Think changing cookies to seeds for parrots and when anti-oxidation was added in the first place.)
From a bit of research, I see that most of the cleaning is done through pastes or juice rather than heat. It'd make sense if some sort of water and honey combination could clean it. Most likely, I'd say you can craft a water bucket, honeycomb and rusted copper block together to reset its rust state with the water bucket not being consumed upon crafting.

Endermage77 posted a message on All new end respawn divice.Posted in: SuggestionsI think that the current respawn anchor is a bit underutilized in its current form. It would be cool to expand its capabilities by letting it function in any dimension by stuffing dimension-appropriate materials into it. The nether requires glowstone, but the end for example could take ender pearls or chorus fruit.

Princess_Garnet posted a message on Microsoft's recent move with the account migration PROVES they want to merge Bedrock & JavaPosted in: DiscussionIf there was a planned attempt to reduce the Java version, this is not likely part of it. This was feared in like 2015 when Microsoft bought Mojang too.
I'm not too worried. If the Java version naturally nearly died out, will they pull the plug? Maybe (it's nowhere near this point, despite the Java version no longer being the most popular version). Would they probably prefer to develop for one version? Maybe. Would Microsoft rather have everyone on a version they can monetize more? Mayb... definitely. But for the last five or six years, I haven't seen them naturally trying to kill it, just improving Bedrock, and they know the majority of Java players probably aren't potential Bedrock customers, so I can't complain at how they've handled it by letting it be with a hands off approach, with Mojang continuing to develop it all the same.

Princess_Garnet posted a message on Who's your favorite Minecraft YouTuber?Posted in: DiscussionI don't really watch Minecraft content on YouTube these days, but I think the sort of stuff I do used to watch sort of fell out of favor a bit? I mostly watched in 2012 and 2013, and maybe some of 2014, when Minecraft animations and song parodies were the big thing, and some of the showcase videos (showcasing custom maps, showing them off in shader glory before they were commonplace) caught my attention too. As far as I know, these are still probably things, as Minecraft IS one of the biggest games, but browsing YouTube today, the channels and what they focus on seems vastly different (not saying worse, as I don't even know or watch them).
I actually had to go look some memories up while posting this. This is far from exhaustive, but if you want to waste some hours going down a few rabbit holes, the common ones I'm finding are Element Animation (basically all of them), Slamacow (Cube Land and From the Ground Up), Mineworks, Sam Green (Epic Minequest), Yogscast (Lewis and Simon) (How Do I Craft This Again, Diggy Diggy Hole), BebopVox, ZexyZek (or probably more appropriately, the LindeeLink voiced parodies), TryHardNinja, RxReckonHD (Night at the Mineseum and the "Minecraft and real world crossover" videos), SkyDoesMinecraft, Jolly ol Brits, and CaptainSparklez (Revenge and Fallen Kingdom series, mostly liking the second one of the... four... [?] or is there more now?).
Not a channel, but a separate mention of this...
I'm sure those numbers are way outdated.
There's also one particular video I'm remembering from sometime between probably 2011 and 2013, that was an animation (I want to say it was not in a drawn/cartoon style but I am not positive) and I was wanting to find it again to see if it was ever continued. Unfortunately, I can't remember much about it, other than that Steve (I think?) shows up to a sort of temple-esque place (loosely Japanese inspired I think) where someone else lives, and goes to set out on an adventure (again, I think). I want to say there was one or maybe two videos I watched at the time of it. Unfortunately, I know so little about it to actually describe it, but I'd know it if I saw it again.

silveroug2 posted a message on Microsoft's recent move with the account migration PROVES they want to merge Bedrock & JavaPosted in: DiscussionThis migration implies nothing.
If they wanted people to move to Bedrock, they would just stop updating the Java edition. I'm sure it would save them a lot of development time.

Ptolemy2002 posted a message on Microsoft Account Costs Money to Change Minecraft UsernamePosted in: DiscussionThey specifically stated that this would not be the case. An account can be associated with Microsoft without actually being the Microsoft account itself, and they could very easily allow for multiple usernames or remove the charge via their own methods. Plus, they stated they will.

Jancrash posted a message on Why we need “portable beds”Posted in: SuggestionsQuote from saucepan8324»
Hi thanks for informing me about the page but I’ve read through it and cant find where this thread destructs these “restrictions” (I’m not saying your wrong as I’m sure you’re right but could you take a quote from the page?)
Control+F4 on Windows lets you search for specific phrases on a page. If you're not on Windows, then I don't know if there is a way. But that'll let you search for specific details without reading the whole page.
Specifically, the following is stated about beds:
- Sleeping bags. Beds are unique so it is highly unlikely there will be any additional furniture items like them. (25 January 2019)
To me, it makes sense why they say this about beds. Beds let you skip the night and set a respawn point as opposed to just waiting, yes. But they allow you to settle far away from the world spawn with no worries about trekking back there when you die. That is why beds are considered unique.
