leangreen76 posted a message on Lore of my five years old large biomes survival worldPosted in: DiscussionAs someone with a 10 year old survival world, it's good to see another also with a long term survival world! Five years is a great achievement, hope it goes for another 5 years! Having lore is good.
People ask me when I might think to end it or when it will be done but it's not about that for me. For me, I've started to try and world build more this year - why is this building here, how does it connect to the other one near it? I personally build things for purpose (That's just me though) rather than purely asethetics as otherwise my world would be filled with pixel art and rollercoasters and other stuff.
Anyway, keep up the good work!

Director posted a message on How does one learn to build in a certain style?Posted in: Survival Modehere's my best advice for anyone trying to get better at building in a new style:
1: get as much inspiration as you can and put it into pictures, take screenshots from youtube videos, find movie posters, just look at something that looks like what you wanna build while you build, you'll find inspiration in it whether you copy it or not.
2: don't forget everything you already learned, using colour well, interesting shapes, all that is just as important from one style to the next.
3: just keep building. If you really hate what you're making right now, just build something else. As you build more and more you'll pick up little tricks and get a better feel for the style as you go.
4: remember, you're just building, not training for the olympics. just chill out and enjoy learning

I didn't suggest we should implement the "too close to the wall" problem, I should've been more clear. I think players waking up in the middle of the night because they didn't properly light up their base could work to balance beds. You would have to make sure their are no blocks with a light level of 6 or lower.
In that case, I agree. In fact it's an exploit about beds I want removed from the game. Clearly if players failed to illuminate their base properly then they should be punished. This increases the difficulty with beds as far as exploration goes, but it is balanced, it is neither too easy nor too hard. It puts beds into the fair category, also beds should not be used as a weapon, their explosive power should not affect monsters, I would support this even if it was only a world option although I'd prefer it be standard game design.

eiche_brutal posted a message on How can I improve my worldPosted in: DiscussionJust keep going! Build a ship, maybe an entire fleet. Connect all your farms with rails.
Or take a break, look into some citybuild servers to get some inspiration from other peoples builds.

eiche_brutal posted a message on A slightly logical use for Minecraft PARROTSPosted in: SuggestionsNah I think parrots are just fine the way they are.
Dancing to music and making babyzombie sounds sure isn't usefull but it's cool!
Bats on the other hand are realy annoying.
It's okay that they dont drop anything but i hate fighting creepers in small corridors with a bat in between!
They arent just annoying, they run into your sword at the worst times!

Bees can spawn in beehives when oak or birch trees are grown two blocks away from a flower. That should allow easy enough access to bees anywhere.
