If you want to keep playing on Java Edition it is absolutely necessary. But remember, there is no real time limit. Some people claim that they will have to make a Microsoft account before 2021 or that they will lose their account if they don't migrate by 2021, this is not true. I wouldn't believe most of the posts in this comment section or most posts about the migration.

Mojang claimed that the game will stay the same, all they're changing is the way you log in. People really need to stop blowing this migration thing out of proportion.

Finally someone who isn't pessimistic or a conspiracy theorist. Mojang claimed that they wouldn't change the game, just the way you log in. Personally I feel neutral about making a new account for Microsoft, it's not even that hard and it barely takes any time.

Microsoft doesn't sell data, what data would they even get from this game or it's players.

No. I feel like people really are making this whole migration stuff a mountain out of an anthill.
Microsoft held my Skype account for ransom until I gave them my number.
What do you mean they held your account for ransom? All they wanted was you number.
Ransom: a sum of money or other payment demanded or paid for the release of a prisoner.
Microsoft changed my entire operating system out of the blue one day. The only option I was given was to delay the installation.
You mean updating your Windows version? Why is this a bad thing?
Now microsoft is threatening to straight up take away a game that I already paid for unless I sign up for their services before 2021.
What do you mean? You don't have to sign up before 2021, there is no actual time limit here.
I really don't understand why everyone is so upset about this migration thing. It's not even here yet and people are claiming bad stuff is on the way. I couldn't disagree more. I like to look on the bright side of things and expect great things to come my way. Some have said that next they'll be forced to play on Bedrock next, which is just a terrible theory.

No. People really need to stop panicking over this migration.

I'm pretty sure they will still be free. They said nothing else would change, they're just migrating the accounts.

No. Why are people so negative about such a small change that probably won't even affect us.

This seems like an overreaction, it's really not that bad. Like, what will really change?

So in the next few months we're going to get an email with instructions on how to migrate, we follow them and when we're all done we get a free cape right? Did I miss anything? Also I'm going to change my account email soon, is that fine? I don't want to miss out!

I've been playing Minecraft for almost 9 years now. I remember I found Minecraft because of the original trailer. After watching the trailer as a kid I had to find out more about this game. I started searching for videos about Minecraft. I watched the Yogscast mess around in survival and in countless adventure maps. When I got the game I remember I would explore my world to find Israphel and Herobrine (I didn't know any better :P). My fondest moment in this game is probably from playing Minecraft with my little brothers and just messing around on Towny servers. I love this game and this community!

So I add that code into the JVM arguments and drop the mod into the mods folder?

Does the old cave generation mod work with Forge?

Is there a mod for 1.8 that changes the cave gen to make it similar to the cave gen before 1.7?

I´ve been wondering if I could change the items back to their classic 2D icons, purely for nostalgia. It´s a shame there´s no way to do it.

It´s not a laptop it´s a PC with an AMD Ryzen 3 2200g, if I remember correctly it has Radeon Vega 8.

I´ve been using the same laptop for 8 years but recently I managed to save up enough money for an actual PC. I´m planning on getting a PC with 8 GB of RAM and an AMD Ryzen 3 2200g, is this build good enough to play Minecraft and have Discord open? My standards are pretty low, my laptop was nearly 9 years old and it only had 4 GB of RAM.

So glad to see this texture pack revival isn´t dead. There aren´t many classic texture packs still around, but I´m glad this one´s going to get an update soon. Keep up the good work!

I have been playing Minecraft for nearly 9 years now, and I've come to the realization that I don't really know how to build in any styles other than medieval (kinda). I love looking at all the different building styles on Hermitcraft, but how do I actually learn to build in these different styles? I would love to learn to build in a Victorian era style. Any tips?

I didn't suggest we should implement the "too close to the wall" problem, I should've been more clear. I think players waking up in the middle of the night because they didn't properly light up their base could work to balance beds. You would have to make sure their are no blocks with a light level of 6 or lower.

First off, WOW! This is amazing. I've never been good at big building projects even though I've been playing for nearly 9 years now. Thanks for inspiring me!

Way back, around 2011 I believe, beds were a lot more difficult to use than they are now. Back then, if you slept in a dark room or area, you would wake up in the middle of the night and get attacked by monsters (I remember laughing my head off whenever this happened to the Yogscast). You also couldn't place a bed close to a wall, doing so would also spawn monsters and wake you up, not sure if this one was intentional, but maybe we could have one of these old features back in the game? A lot of the times whenever I'm exploring, I tend to sleep in the middle of a dark forest and just skip the night, but if the old sleeping rules were implemented back in the game, this wouldn't be possible anymore. Perhaps the bed would have to check a certain area around it. If there are a lot of dark blocks near it, monsters would have a higher chance of waking you up in the middle of the night, making skipping the night while exploring a lot more difficult.

It looks great so far. Maybe you could build a storage system or somewhere to store your things instead of just having them outside. Maybe set up a villager breeder for librarians and enchantments. Take your pick. I would love to see an update in the future, keep up the good work!:D

It may take a while to rust, but if you're like me and you like to stay on one world for a long time, cleaning copper would be absolutely necessary. I just hope they change the copper block texture to something more attractive rather than the tiles.
