They will also come in different sizes

    I think this idea is really good but some of the ideas are stupid. I think this is how it should work
    The villages should be about 3 in a group, seperated by about 30 blocks
    The villages will be developing, starting of small and neighbourly
    They will have walls which they will expand to build the city and only made out of wood
    There will be war, over excessive land, stealing and previous attacks
    When they are at war they will try to burn down the village but the villages will be ready to stop the fire
    There will be reputations but it only affects the quality of the trades
    There will be soldiers, iron golems and traps

    So basically everything i already have.
    One thing: No way villages are ever going to spawn so common as 3 within 30 blocks, do you even know how far that is? thats a tiny distance.

    Maybe you should try and assemble an team of coders, I'm sure you can find tons of people who can help you(and you will need it considering the size of the project).

    It just seems like too much work for me as i already have so many things going on.

    I'm not saying this is a bad idea, i'm just saying it's overboard. Wayyyyyy overboard. You've thought this out well, so well that it would stand on it's own without needing minecraft anymore.

    I know people say that an idea shouldn't be thrown away because it would be a lot of work, but this...this is a LOT of thinking and planning, a bit too much thinking and planning.

    yeah, i know its alot to add, but not all needs to be added.

    I like most of your ideas, but I completely disagree with the races. I think the testificates are already good enough and your other ideas are incredibly cliche. Atleast the vanilla testificates are original...
    The rest of your ideas are very well thought through. I think it would be extremely hard if not impossible to code this though, maybe you should try to make a mod of this.


    The first step is to learn code....
    It will be a long and painful road, dont worry though, next semester im learning my first bit of code. Will help me learn java if i already know a different language

    Yes, because if people do enough good things for certain villages then they can join that village, meaning you can have many players on one villages team and many on the other, then you can tell the king to send his troops to war against the other players village and huge NPC/player vs NPC/player combat ensues, would be very interesting!

    i dont want you to have to build property, the npcs would just ignore areas in and around places where there is lots of user placed blocks while they build

    well at first you wanted it to be a forced feature, then someone suggested it as a world option :P
    anyway, my suggestion is (not sure you heard this before..) is that if you a close to a king of a faction and you are his advisor, and one of the villages in the faction maybe is losing a fight or is falling behind in crops or something, he should give you temporary ownership of that village in the faction so you can fix it up and help them out for a while. The king would give you a -Marked- map so you know how to get there. Anyway, good idea, maybe a bit too much because minecraft would get too much attention on villages, and please consider my suggestion :)

    i like the marked map thing, but i dont think you should take over the entire town to help someone out who is behind, you can always put an emerald in their chest and that would raise your reputation with them and they would be able to start up their farm again.
    Might add the marked map thing to the main post when i get the time

    getting the same problem, its very buggy at the moment, if i put two items in and they go over the experience cap when i try to rename i can only backspace once, then the menu breaks, and i have to close it.
    also, has anyone tried combining items and then renaming the item you get from that, to see if you can rename super strong items? Hope they remove the cap....
