As of now, no mods are possible -- but this is the in-road that will be used in the future for modding.
The idea is that it's a texture pack on steroids, able to hold so much more than textures. Right now you can do textures, sounds, music, and language replacement. In the future mods will be possible.
Right now there's no way to auto-download them like you can with texture packs, but that's also coming.
I've been able to do a lot with resource packs so far to "theme" my server... replacing bows with rifles (with sound effects), changing music, etc. It's quite powerful even if it's not mod-ready.
Alright, thank you for clarifying this! Do you have any idea as for how long it will take Mojang to get these resource packs mod-ready? They're a big team of programmers now as I've seen it.
What current opportunities does resource packs give you?
Will they be/are they able to include mods (Forge mods like In-Game NBT-Edit or Custom NPCs Mod f. ex)
Can someone clarify this whole thing about mod API, future and current opportunities?
man...
don't mean to bother you, but your piece of art is really significant.
It is the best tx.p, and even ten times better than the second best one.
It actually makes the game look sweet. and that's impressive considering it's 16 bit textures.
please hurry up a little, I'm making adventure maps with this.
I just discovered that you can make paintings and item frames invulnerable, using "NBTedit". I tried the same thing with buttons, and then the server crashed... This problem clearly needs to be fixed by mojang.
Hi, I'm making an adventure map, using adventure mode.
In order to break blocks in adventure mode you need to use the right tools (pickaxe for stone etc..)
But there's one problem. Levers and all other kinds of activators can be broken and picked up, without even using any tools.
This makes it very easy for players to re-use the activator, and that ruins the whole challenge of the map.
Is there a way to change this in vanilla minecraft (gamerules?), or do I have to use mods?
If you have other creative suggestions please share them
Just a couple of suggestions I thought I might share with Noppes.
1. Villager animations for the NPCs ( is this aleady possible?)
2. Reading and Snake charming animation ( for the sake of atmosphere)
3. The option to hide the goal of the quest ( for example, hide the name of the dialogue in a dialogue quest from the quest window)
4. Death messages (customizable)
These are only some ideas I thought of, you dont need to take them serious or anything.
The custom NPC mod is like the biggest thing that has happened to minecraft since minecraft itself! It is AS great as SPC,if not better. My favorite mod!
Yeah, I replaced it with a blank png image of the same resolution. I'm making a texturepack for an adventure map, so I don't want the purple glow on my books and potions.

I'm dying of boredom. Minecraft sucks without the revival texturepack!

Hope this will be of help to others too, the glint is downright ugly!

I wonder if anybody could tell me where this texture is located, and what it is called.
I appreciate all the help I can get!
