The links you have don't lead to the resource pack - only malware. I'm not talking about ad.fly, once you get past that it brings up a really dodgy site telling you to install some spyware.
I'll be the black sheep here and say I don't support it. I think good organization would solve a lot of the problems. A way to organize your inventory would be nice. Next ppl will say middle click an enemy will search your inventory for your best weapon. Middle click a tree will bring out an axe if you have one. Yes this would be helpful for building in survival, but only by alittle in my opinion. Part of survival is being prepared and I think with this you have less need to be organized. But yes I do see why some ppl would like this.
Personally, I don't agreed with the idea of middle clicking mobs or trees, etc, to get tools. And I would argue that this has nothing to do organisation, for example say I am building an Iron Trench, which uses many different blocks. More than 9 at least. I could be completely organised by having all of my materials ready in my hotbar and inventory, but if I need an item that isn't in my hotbar, it's just more convenient to middle click for it than to open my inventory and switch the items. It's nothing to do with organisation and preparation, but more about laziness to be honest.
It works in creative mode, pick-blocking will give you that block if it's already in your inventory.
Yes, this feature has been in the game since I don't know when, but I would like to see this in survival mode, so I don't have to keep moving items in and out of my hotbar when building.
Oh, yeah, but that's added in 1.7 (I'm in the snapshot)
(well, that part doesn't work in survival, but they're fixing that)
In the snapshot in creative mode middle clicking on a block causes any items of that block to be pulled from the inventory from the hotbar. This is the feature I'm suggesting, but I don't believe this will be available in survival.
No, I just tested it, it works in survival, ever since the redstone update.
I see what you mean. Minecraft switches the active item in the hotbar so the one you middle clicked on, but it doesn't pull items from the inventory to the hotbar, which is the feature I would like implemented.
but it would be cool if you middle clicked a container with an item and it would give you 1 of that item(hold it to get more[hold it for 10 seconds and get all you can of it)
I don't think it should be as complex, that would be a feature more suitable for a mod.
I don't know how many times I've juggled things around trying to fit every building material I need into my hotbar, along with food, tools, etc. And since middle-click isn't really used in survival, I don't see what it could hurt. I'm surprised this hasn't been added already.
Exactly. Unless they're already planning to add a middle click function in 1.7, there's no reason not to add this.
I've always wanted to be able to pick a block using the middle mouse button like in creative mode, but in survival. Of course, it wouldn't be survival if that block was just given to you, but it would be cool if the game searched for that block in your inventory and moved a stack to the hotbar if found. This would be very useful for building when you have more materials needed than hotbar space.
I'm pretty sure this mod already exists, but I couldn't find it, so I made it again myself. If you are the creator of the original mod, let me know so I can credit you and/or stop making this.
Essentially, it allows you to get the materials used to make armour or tools back, based on the item's durability by smelting it. For example, if a zombie dropped a barely used gold chestplate, you'll get 8 gold ingots back. But if you have an almost broken diamond pickaxe, you'll only get one diamond or nothing back.
Special cases:
Leather armour needs to be crafted.
Chain armour makes iron ingots.
Wooden tools not supported (unless I get overwhelming demand for it ).
Installation:
Unfortunately, for reasons I have not yet figured out, none of the mods I make are compatible with Magic Launcher. Until I get that sorted, the mod files have to be placed directly into the version jar (details below).
Make sure you have the latest version of forge installed. You can download it here. Make sure you select the 'Recommended-1.6.2' installer.
Run the installer with Java Platform SE Binary, and select to install client. It should finish within about a second.
Open windows explorer and go to "%appdata% > .minecraft > versions > 1.6.2-Forge[version]"
Make a backup copy of the .jar file.
Open the forge .jar file and the mod .zip file using Winrar or 7zip, and copy the "modWasteNotWantNot" file into forge.
You do not need to delete META-INF.
Close the .jar and the .zip and run Minecraft. Hopefully this should work.
If it doesn't work, let me know and I'll try to fix it for you.

It would use the same key as 'Pick Block' in the controls menu, so yes it could be rebinded.
EDIT: rebound?

Not in survival, Pick Block only works in creative mode.

Yeah, the idea would be to have pick block working in creative and survival, whatever button that may be changed to.

Either someone should make this as a mod, or Mojang should implement it in 1.6.
