Your friend used your computer to go to a website that sells stolen Minecraft accounts.
Think about that for a minute: your so-called "friend" used your computer to go to a website operated by self-admitted thieves and hackers.
And thanks to your friend, now your account is one of those stolen accounts.
There are two things you need to do. One, there is a very high probability that your computer now contains some sort of malware -- if you don't have a good anti-virus program, get one yesterday. Also get MalwareBytes. Find what has crawled into your computer and get it out of there. Two, you need to contact Mojang directly to see if you can recover your Minecraft account. If you have the transaction ID from when you bought it, you probably can. Other people can tell you more about this. Actually, three things. The third involves physical security: do not let other people use your computer, because you just lost your Minecraft account as the result of what you let your friend do.
(oh, and if you say something about what your problem is in the thread title, instead of "HALP ME PLZZZ" which tells us nothing about what you need, the people who in fact can help you are more likely to respond)

The names really make this more confusing than it has to be (thanks, Mojang) but here's how it works out:
- Minecraft/PC is the version that runs on every flavor of Windows, at least every flavor from XP on
- MCPE (Minecraft Pocket Edition) is the version for mobile devices like phones, tablets, etc.
- Minecraft/Win10 is basically MCPE ported to the PC.
Advantages of the various editions:
Minecraft/PC -- maximum flexibility, most stuff, most mods
MCPE -- mobile, so you can get your MC fix anywhere
MC/Win10 -- able to play multiplayer with MCPE players
(there are also five flavors of MC for consoles and one for the Raspberry Pi, but I'm leaving those out)
Basically, the only reason you'd want MC/Win10 is if you want to be able to play cross-platform with people who are playing the Pocket Edition. If you want to be able to play multiplayer with people playing the PC (including Mac and Linux, btw) version, you want MC/PC.
Also, added to clarify: MC/PC can't play with MCPE or with MC/Win10 (or with MC/console). MC/Win10 can only play with MCPE or other MC/Win10, not MC/PC or MC/console.

A. I'm not a little kid.
B. I played Halo and COD before I played MC.
I wear a creeper face pin on my hat IRL, and sometimes a Minecraft T-shirt, so as a result I meet a lot of Minecraft players. I have met every age from barely beyond the rugrat stage to a lady about 70 whose grandkids got her started playing, and when they quit she didn't. At the grocery store, the assistant manager of one department chats about game updates. At Costco, one of the food demonstrators always talks about redstone when she (yes, she) should be handing out food samples. There's more than one person at the counter at the used book store, can't forget them. A waiter at a restaurant a couple of weeks ago. My SMP server admin is about to graduate from college. I think you're getting the point. I have met literally dozens of Minecraft players IRL in the time I've been playing, perhaps a hundred or more, and (possibly because I am one myself) the overwhelming majority have been adults.
Briefly addressing Roobish's statement that we should "...try helping kids to learn how to better interact with people...": No. I am not here to educate other people's children. It's not my job. It's not my place. And I don't want to do it. I expect everyone I'm playing with to act like a civilized human being -- and that goes for every game, not Minecraft -- no matter what their age. (I remember a long-ago ex-guildie in WoW who acted like he was 12 ... his son, an actual 12-year-old, was more mature than he was) I want to play a game, not be a teacher, a playground monitor, or a parent to other people's children. Mind you, I don't play on servers that are promoted as being for children -- it's just plain rude (not to mention wrong) to go into an environment that's one particular way and demand that it be changed to suit your wishes. That's true whether it's someone how goes on a child-friendly server and expects other players not to act like children or someone who goes on an adult server who expects other players not to swear because he's a child. When I have time to play, I want to spend it playing, not teaching other people's children the things their own parents should have taught them already.

Master of Orion II was released in 1996. I was playing it a couple of days ago, as I have been on and off since, well, 1996. From what I can tell from a quick online search, I'm not the only one. (it's a good game, btw, and you can pick it up for cheap at GOG) And that game has not been changed, modified, patched, or otherwise dorked around with in 19 years. Aside from the fact that Minecraft is not "getting worse", there's no reason to assume it is not going to have "legs" just as much as MOO2. So I'd guess that people will be playing it at least 19 years after its last update.

I think minecraft is going downhill SOOO much i was playing in the alpha days that was when you could play with friends no mods and no pvp you could just build and work together... When my brother showed me it it we played together for hours on end... Now thats gone, minecraft is ruined
So why can't you play with friends now?
Why can't you play with no mods now?
Why can't you play with no PvP now?
Why can't you just build and work together now?
For that matter ... why can't you play Alpha now?
The answer is simple: you can.
But it's not who you played with or how you played that you miss. The thing that's changed isn't the game -- it's you. None of it's gone; it's right there waiting for you to play it. The person who played with your brother for hours doesn't exist anymore; he's past-you, and you're present-you. I'm not going to rewrite my whole long post -- it's back on page 3. Read it and assume I'm saying the whole thing again.

What??? There have been no updates since 1.8.2, just bug fixes and security patches. 1.9 is going to be the first update in ages.
And nobody seems to play it anymore? What am I, chopped liver? What game am I playing? What are all the other people in this thread playing? What are the people I meet IRL (I wear a creeper pin on my hat) playing?

Ah, it's the undead nostalgia thread again. This seems to crop up on a regular basis every week or two ... and it has for literally years.
First, to the OP: The game hasn't changed; you have. There's a thread about it linked from my sig. Read it. The tl;dr version is that you are not a MC newbie anymore, and what you're nostalgic isn't anything in the game; it's you being new to the game and seeing, doing and learning everything for the first time.
Now, to address the "updates have sucked ever since Microsoft bought out Minecraft": there have been no updates TO suck. (a few bug fixes, yes; updates, no) 1.9 is the first post-buyout update. Given that it's not out yet, we can't say for sure whether it sucks or not; however, a lot of people playing the snapshots seem to like it.
Regarding "Notch come back plzplz": Markus Persson was not directly involved with Minecraft development for a matter of years before he sold Mojang. He's not the guy who made Minecraft what it was pre-buyout; that would be Jeb, Dinnerbone, et. al.
"Gliding ruins this, that, and the other thing." Well, if you're playing SP and you accidentally go to the End, kill the Ender Dragon, explore more of the End, find an End Ship, kill its protectors, and -- still accidentally, mind you -- open a chest and find Elytra, there's something simple you can do to avoid that horrible ruination: drag and drop the item out of your inventory and into the Void. Problem solved. In MP, there are a lot crazier things than the ability to glide; virtually all MP servers are modded in some way. There is no doubt a means to remove any given item in the game (I don't run a server myself so I'd have to ask my admin what); so ask your server admin to include Elytra as one of the things to remove. (though if you're playing on a server that already allows flying, warping, or various other ways of getting around, I doubt if you'll have much luck)
If there's some version of Minecraft other than the current one that you like better ... play that version. If you want to play on a server that runs that version ... find one, or get some friends and start your own. But nobody has any right to demand that other people have to play an old version of Minecraft (and which one?) just because you like it better.
But there is absolutely nothing Mojang could do, nothing Notch could do, nothing the Emperor of Mankind could do, that would make Minecraft what you played when you were 10 years old, because you will never be 10 years old again, and you will never play Minecraft for the first time again.
I remember the first science fiction book I ever read. I remember it as a wonderful, glorious book, opening up a whole new world to me. I remember writing my first fanfic (rather badly; I was, I believe, 8 at the time) about it. That book was awesome. Amazing. Something really special. And ... about a year ago ... I had a chance to read it again. Y'know something? It was, um, er, well, pretty lame. Not really bad, per se, but nothing to write home about. Not even anything to read a second time. Not a letter of the story had changed -- but I have. What I remember wasn't really the book itself; it was the way an 8-year-old child felt reading that book for the very first time ever. I'm not 8 years old anymore. I've already read it. What I was so nostalgic for was something which can never happen again, because I can't get younger (I wish!) and I can't unread a book (though there are a few I wish I could!).
It's the same way with Minecraft nostalgia: the OP is nostalgic for what it felt like to play Minecraft for the first time when he was 10 years old. That's why playing an old version doesn't help -- it's not Minecraft itself that he's nostalgic for. It's something that can never happen again, just like I can never read that book for the first time again Past-you is not present-you is not future-you. They say you can never go home again, and they're right -- because even if "home" is exactly the same as it was, you're not the person who left.. Such is life.

Um ... given that when I play SSP, I generally build cobblestone cubes for houses, don't be too sure.
Sorry, we're gonna have to agree to disagree. The only kind of artist Jack the Dripper was, was a scam artist.
As for the part about something being aesthetically pleasing: that's a matter of individual experience. Take a typical item: a coffee mug, let's say. Its function is to hold coffee for drinking. It could be plain white ceramic and it would do a perfectly good job of being a coffee mug. But you paint a cat on it, and that cat image becomes art. It's not necessary for the coffee mug to be a coffee mug; it's something extra. That's where the 'art' part comes in.
So in the sense I'm talking about, with regard to something being useful, I mean in the sense of something other than visual appeal. Functionally, a piece of canvas with nothing on it or the painting of a great master, are all the same. Artistically, they couldn't be much more different. That functionally useless addition is where the art comes in.

SOMETHING BAD is indeed happening, but it's not what you think it is.
The bad thing is that you're posting about Herobrine. The Minecraft Forum staff takes a dim view of that type of thread, because there is no such thing as Herobrine, never has been, and never will be, so the usual reason to post about him/her/it is to either start up trouble or fool gullible people, neither of which is a good thing to have happening in the forum. Herobrine threads never end well.
If you want to write stories involving Herobrine, there's a section for it: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/show-your-creation/fan-art/literature
Also, if the moderators take action on a post of yours, the correct way to handle it is to contact the moderator who did it (if you got a warning), or the section admin if you don't know. You can find a list of the staff, including the admin for each section, here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/forums/forum-discussion-info/517684-staff-list Starting another thread about your thread that got deleted is not appropriate, and is likely to get you into even greater grief with the mods.

Well firstly, I've been playing Minecraft for quite a while now, and I just now noticed I was subconsciously thinking this entire process out. You see, I'm a Muslim, and whenever I've played games, I've always for some reason followed the rules of Islam as best I could. This might be because I'm just wired to do so, or maybe it's because I want to see if it would somehow help me in the game, showing how good Islamic laws really are. As an example, when playing fallout 3, I never picked up pork and beans, nor did I drink alcohol or do drugs. Contrast that with my older brother, who walked around jacked up on mentats and whiskey...
So of course, a game like Minecraft gets really complex. The first thing I did when I got the game was avoid killing pigs at all costs. Here's the rules of Islam concerning them:
1. I can't eat pork (duh).
2. I can't give or sell pork to people (So I can't get rid of it that way...)
3. I can't throw away food in general (Hey! This adds another obstacle... )
4. I can eat pork if I need to in order to survive, and there is no other food.
And another thing!
5. I can't knowingly do anything that will directly harm me.
[EDIT]: Due to the fact that wolves exist, I can just feed my excess pork to those guys, and that's that.
Also: It's looked down upon in Islam to have dogs as pets (since they're unsanitary) unless they're useful (ex: you're a shepherd, they're guard dogs, they're seeing dogs, et cetera) and the wolves are basically hunting/guard dogs and help you out a LOT, so they're ok.
On to the next discussion: Prayer.
1. I have to pray 5 times a day. (Duh)
2. Prayer is based on the sun, not on time, so I have to divide the day and find the according times.
3. If I am traveling or ill, I am not obliged to pray. (Traveling = not within view of my home with render distance on far, ill = missing more than half my health, for my purposes)
4. I have to pray towards the Kaaba (I don't know where it is, if there is one in this dimension!!!)
5. I can pray on dirt, grass, sand, or anything natural, along with carpeting.
As a note to this section: I currently have both a Kaaba on my spawn and a room for telling the prayer times. Pictures of both can be found in the Gallery at the end of this post.
On to the next discussion: Jihad.
On to the next discussion: Punishment of Law.
On to the next discussion: Calendars, Holidays, and Fasting
Oh and the poll results were:
Keep in-game date with only gaming time: 49
Keep in-game date with total time: 5
Break fourth wall: 30
So keeping in-game date with only gaming time wins! And so I'll make a post when it's Ramadan or Hajj.
And I guess I'll put Hajj under this section as it's still concerning the calendar: I will also make Hajj every year when it's the time of the pilgrimage. I'll go more into detail (possibly with vids or pics) when I do it for the first time.
On to the next discussion: Witchcraft, Magic, and Brewery
In fact, the Nether and pigmen have a lot in common with the alternate dimension of Jin. (Mini lesson: in Islam, it is believed that Jin, another sentient race made of fire , were also created by Allah, and reside in a parallel universe that resides besides ours, and are also being tested by Allah. In that regard, there are both good and bad Jin, the same way there are both good and bad humans.) The Nether is in a way parallel to the real Minecraft world, when you think of the way movement between the two works. Also, it is mainly composed of lava and fire . Finally, pigmen are identical in shape to the player , and can be both passive and aggressive. So if thought of this way, going into the Nether should not be allowed. (Mini lesson: in Islam, it is believed that communicating with Jin is possible, and doing so is the sin of witchcraft.) However, the Nether is really fun in my opinion, so I might just ignore this.
The same just about goes for enchanting (magic!) and brewing (potions!). Both are very interesting additions to the game, so I'd hate to disregard them. Also, brewing can be used to make instant health potions, which is basically the same as medicine. And in Islam, it is believed that if you are sick or ill, you can't just rely on God to make you better. You have to follow the advice of doctors and take medicine, basically do everything in your power to get better. So health potions are a good thing.
So far that is all I actually considered. Any more suggestions or whatnot?
Note: Anything in this shade of blue is an opinion from me about Islam and not stated as a fact for everything.
Here's a pic of the final and current Kaaba I had.
Pics of the prayer calculation room mentioned in the thread! (Used Shafi prayer regulations)
The whole building
Entrance and area where you stand
You stand in the middle and use windows on the outside to determine the prayer times based on the position of the sun.
Ok so here's the pictures of one of the many mosques I've built. (Current mosque count: 8)
View at night from watchtower
Entrance with fountain at night
Finished inside (looks the same at day and night)
Finished outside at daytime.
Here's pictures of a church built by raptor777777.
In this picture you can see a baptistry on the left.
Here's pictures of a mosque built by MMS.
Here's a picture of St.Paul's Cathedral from the city of London built by wildstyle.
Here's a picture of a mosque built by egesagin. (It's a 1:1 scale model of Süleymaniye Mosque in Istanbul)
Thanks to all of those people for letting me use their pics.
If you've made a mosque, church, citadel, temple, synagogue, or other place of worship, OR have a picture relating to your take on any religion or lack thereof in Minecraft, just post it here and give me permission, and I'll add it to the OP with credit. Thanks in advance.

"...just play an older version. It's not the same. Minecraft was all about playing with your friends"
If i remember correctly the old Minecraft, when it first came out, there was no multiplayer. So how can the old minecraft (or the oldest) be about laying with your friends?
Anyway Minecraft has the same feature every game in the world does. It doesn't force you to play if you no longer have any fun. If you want an older server for 1.3.5, why not create one yourself. If there are a ton of old players as you sugguest, im sure everyone can donate enough once in a while to keep it going. And if its even that popular, Mojang might do as you sugggest and host their own older server.

The longer answer is - definitely no.
This isn't a rant, although it may sometimes appear that way, so please don't read it as one.
1) Crappy is a completely subjective opinion. What you find crappy someone else might find useful.
2) There is no 'flood'. MCreator has been around for a while. Mods from it do pop up, but there are still far more coded mods out there and there is certainly no flood of them.
3) If you ban mods created by programs like MCreator because they should be considered 'crappy' then why stop there? Why not ban coded mods that only add recoloured weapons or armour? Or only add recoloured ores with a new name? There are plenty of coded mods out there that are uncreative and don't really add anything to MC, and they are just as buggy as ones created with a program. Where is the line to be drawn?
Should people who use Techne be banned because they don't code the model?
4) You, yourself admit that not all MCreator mods are bad. But your answer is to ban all of them, depriving the community of the decent ones. Should all resource packs created with GIMP be banned because they aren't created with Photoshop?
5) This forum is not PMC and never should be. Just because they do something doesn't mean this forum has to. You could always get your mods from there and not here. Problem solved.
6) Not everyone has the time or skill to learn programming of any kind, yet they still want to add their personal touches. Programs like MCreator allow them to do this.
7) "That in turn makes it hard to find good mods". This, I think, is one of the main issues here. YOU don't like them because, in your eyes, it makes it harder for you to find others. To be frank that's tough crap. There are plenty of mods in these forums that I don't care for, the same goes for everyone. We all have to go through them, that's just the way it is. Just put up with it, it's not like every other mod is an MCreator mod.
I took a look at your own mod, seeing as you want to be judgmental of others, just the stuff in the first post and the wiki.
There's a couple of bits that seem interesting and creative, I'll give you that, but for me the mod as whole isn't worth getting for myself. Why? You do exactly what you accuse others of doing. You add recoloured ore and armours (probably with different stats). How is that any less 'crappy' than what these other mods do? How is that any more original or creative? It's been done a thousand times before. Now I'm sure you'll say that those ores are needed to create the armour, the sword and the other things, right? Fair enough, to you they have a use, I have no problem with that. But the same thing applies to people that use MCreator. To them what they create is useful. They're not doing it for you or me, they do it for themselves and release it because others might find it useful. Just the same as you do.
It doesn't matter that you coded yours by hand and others didn't. You are all using tools at your disposal. Did you create your own coding program or did you use Eclipse or another piece of software? You are the same as them except they take it a bit further.
What matters in something like this is not how it was made, but the end result.
You might want to take a long, hard look at your own stuff and what you do before you pass judgment on others. You are no different. By your own rules of thinking, you should be banned too.
So no, in absolutely no way should anything be banned unless it breaks one of the rules. Certainly not because of 'quaiity' which could never be accurately ascertained. One persons rubbish is another mans treasure and all that.
^^^ This. 1000x this. I will repost this forever.
Old post, but I've been working with Mcreator for a little while now and every time I head over to google or the forums for tips, tricks, or help, I have to scroll through 10,000 pissy replies from these wannabe script kiddies and self proclaimed l33t pr0gr4mm0r m4st0rz complaining about mcreator being "the bane of all good mods" and "doing all the work for lazy people" and "flooding the forums with crappy mods".
Like you have said, I've seen/used plenty of aesthetically pleasing and game-changing mods generated by Mcreator, as well as some pretty bad ones. Crappy, generic, cookie-cutter mods have been around as long as the forums, so you can hardly blame Mcreator or pylo for that. Mcreator doesn't produce any quality of mod because everything it produces is a direct product of the work put into it by the modder. Then you hear "oh, well you can only mod within the limitations of the program" false Mcreator features a custom code editor (yes I know the code is slightly different and uses its own variables, but if a stranger can berate me to learn Java, why would it be any harder for them to learn to code Mcreator? It is almost identical.)
PMC banning mods for being "program generated" seems to be a thinly veiled rule allowing the moderators to remove any mod that they don't view as "Original enough", and it seems that most of these "Legitimate Coders" are less concerned about the quality of the mcreator mods being produced, and more upset at the fact that somebody has found a way around all the hard work they went through to achieve the same ends.
Maybe, just maybe, we can judge our mods and addons by their contents and not the programs used to make them. Just a thought

Nov 16, 2015TNT123BOOM posted a message on Minecraft is NOT Dying, Getting less popular or BoringPosted in: Discussion
Minecraft, this game has been launched since 2009-2010 (it was Cave-game i believe, correct me if i'm wrong) and it is still steady for now
Minecraft have lived 6 years for now with a Good grab of people, And i think it will last for even more years, maybe 10 or more (Until devs stops updating and/or something happens) But i've seen many people around the forum (won't mention any) complaining about "Minecraft is Dying, Minecraft is no longer what it used to be" and don't even get me started on 1.9 update
Minecraft has a unique way of playing unlike any other games, And it still getting Purchases from people, i don't see Minecraft getting less popular, i am seeing it getting even more popular
Let's start of with some facts:
- Old minecraft was much better, people used to play Survival together and it was Awesome back then, now it's just a bunch of Minigames and PvP.Hold on there, First Minecraft Was better? well i see that it's still awesome for now, and people used to play Survival together because that was what minecraft ONLY was about, Creative didn't exist nor PvP items (Potions,sprinting..etc)And Minecraft Does NOT force you to play like what does the game want, Some People like mini-games, So why ruining it? (No i'm not a Minigame fan) Just because one or two persons don't like that or this doesn't mean to change the whole game, You don't like minigames i got it, So don't play it, Go and do what you like, Maybe you like Building, Well some people don't like it and like another thing. So in short words: If you hate something in Minecraft, Don't Play/Use it, And don't ruin other people Liking just because you don't like them.
- Minecraft isn't the game is used to be, Specially after 1.9 UpdateOkay, i have to admit that many people seem nervous about 1.9, 1.9 update is a huge step for minecraft, but it is a Successful step, 90% of the community Loved what 1.9 brought to minecraft, While the other 10% is the people who keep saying "Mine Craft 1,9 is kelling PvPeh"Minecraft 1.9 is SAVING PvP, You really want to go into a fight with the old system? where the man with the best armor wins? PvP was about Spam and click, Not to mention the Autoclick hacks that Spams the left click on Entities, Minecraft 1.9 have stopped that hack and PvP Now REQUIRES a Strategy to win the fight, Not a Spam mixed with Gapples. In short words: Minecraft 1.9 is Saving Minecraft, not ruining it.And please read this: (By JCM2606)
The only people who seem to hate / dislike the update are the people who cannot understand or accept that combat previously was just plain bad. It was just a click-fest and whoever had the best armour won. There was no depth to the combat aside from potions which basically was a faux balancing and ranking agent; the end-game players can virtually become a god and kill everyone with one swoop, and early-game players could still practically become a demi-god if they rushed to get the resources required to make a top-tier potion as per what a guide online says. There's 0 depth to it, it's just progression then you pwn. That's it. Nothing else.
Games that involve spam-clicking often include other mechanics to liven up combat. Take Skyrim for instance. Combat with swords in that game, or any warrior-esque weapons, was the same as Minecraft. Click as fast as you can and the person with the best armour wins. What makes Skyrim's combat better than Minecraft's is Skyrim offers a couple dimensions to shuffle combat a bit, Minecraft doesn't. Perhaps the biggest is a properly balanced combat system, with Minecraft you get diamond armour, you are immediately better than other players in combat. In Skyrim, you get ebony armour and sure, you can absorb more hits, but enemies are leveled and have specific skills. You might have chosen a race that is weak against fire or frost damage, hence any enemy who uses fire or frost spells or enchanted weaponry against you is instantly at an advantage, that turns a fairly 2-dimension combat system (weapons and armour tier) to a 3-dimension system that involves race-specific and skill-specific strengths and weaknesses, you have to work your strategy around that fire mage you didn't anticipate. And it gets even worse with dragons when you factor in shouts and how dragons level dramatically steeper.
The next dimension Skyrim introduces is potions and poisons, the ability to tailor your weapon temporarily to suit a specific circumstance; if you're faced with a fire mage chug down a fire resistance potion, apply a frost weakness poison to your blade and swing once, then hit with a couple frost spells. While Minecraft offers potions to change your own combat experience, it doesn't offer poisons to the same degree as Skyrim does in terms of combat-specific effects, most potions and splash potions offer generic combat effects such as extra damage, resistance, etc. The aim of introducing mechanics like cooldown and other combat-oriented changes is to change up how players devise their strategy and introduce a bit of livelihood to the fight. Potions and poisons add a fourth dimension to the combat system of Skyrim.
Perhaps the biggest is how you build your character. It's no surprise Skyrim, or any Elder Scrolls games for that matter, are oriented around building up your character to be what you want them to be. If you want a necromage who studied the effects of sanguine vampirism and become a vampire lord, you can build that. If you want an orc hell-bent on becoming the closest thing he can get to being the Hulk, except with axes in both hands, you can build that. If you want a sneaky assassin that is quick on the draw with a bow and arrow and is amazing at getting around without being seen, perhaps using illusion magic to boost your stealth, you can build that. You build your character to what you want them to be, and your choices aren't just for show, they affect how you play the game and how fights turn out. A necromage vampire lord will tend to spawn minions to soften up the enemies for themselves, then maybe go in for the final kill. An orc wanting to be the Hulk will just enter and bash the enemies out of the way without looking back. An archer assassin will stay in the shadows and pick off enemies one-by-one without anyone finding them. Skyrim offers you the ability to change how combat plays out in relation to what type of character you build, and this in itself adds at least one more dimension, if not more if you count perks, shouts, spells, weaponry, ties to guilds, racial bonuses, etc as separate factors.
Minecraft's combat is incredibly dull. It's basically a 2-dimensional combat system, you get the best sword, you get the best armour, maybe some potions or enchanting, that's it. The person with the best setup in the field wins, even if they're a bad player. 3 good players might not take down 1 bad player who has absolutely everything. This is why 1.9 changed combat, it offers players the ability to specialise for a specific style of combat; if you are very good at timing your swings, you will dominate in the field when faced with someone who jitter-clicks. Someone who uses an axe which has a lot of knockback can gain massive advantages, changing the tides of battle with a single swing. Someone who masters blocking with shields can block any attacks and turn an enemy's offensive strategy into a rush for a defensive strategy within a fraction of a second. 1.9 adds dimension to the combat system. Compared to Skyrim with upwards of 5 or more potential dimensions affecting combat, Minecraft is basically the game of fitting square blocks through the right shaped holes. And Skyrim doesn't even have the best combat, it has flaws too, but it does combat a LOT better than Minecraft does
- Microsoft is killing MinecraftWait a min while i get my Super Facepalm Hammer.Microsoft have bought Mojang but NOT Developing it, and acutally microsoft didn't do anything except Hololens and Win 10 MinecraftJeb, Dinnerbone and all other awesome people that made minecraft are STILL making minecraft, No changes here.
- Notch, Plz come backYou're correct, Notch made the game, but in my opinion he didn't had Good fitting ideas to minecraft (Lanterns, Mountable Dragons? Really?)And Notch has left mojang at his Own will, go to his site and read what he wrote, He didn't know that minecraft will be a Huge hit in the community, All he wanted is to code a simple game with a small community.
- Plz stop people from modding minecraft.Wait.. Did you just said what i think you said? oh god, do you have any idea of what did you say? it's like you're saying Plz Make a pizza with nothing but only the dough Mods are like flavors you add to food to make them delicious, Almost half of the community is using mods, Shutting Mods section will get rid of half of the CommunityIt's right that modding minecraft isn't supported by mojang, but it's not against mojang either.
- Minecraft is boring/ I'm done with minecraft.Minecraft will get boring eventually after you know everything in it, we all love those minecraft moments where we were new to the game, built a dirt hut and hiding in it scared of monsters, Now you know everything, and you don't have to worry about mobs because you already know how to kill them, And that would get boring after sometime, But that why Updates exist, Whenever a new update comes out, it'll be holding new stuff and a new adventure to players to bring them that feel again, Basically Updates are like a Refresh to your minecraft interest.
- Why mojang takes alot to develop updates, while modding community does it in a week/days or maybe hours. Here we go again, First mojang is doing the updates for free, and at their own will, They could stop updating it anytime, it's up to their choicesAs you can see, Mojang is able to make an update every month/week or so, But have you thought about the cons here? If mojang did that, it will probably break minecraft and WILL get boring, Why? well imagine like they released an update, and after a week they released another update, and you didn't even try the first one, it will be annoying, and they will eventually run out of ideas in a year. Or will add super useless unneeded and really annoying features (Imagine guns in minecraft, OR flying horses? yeah not cool)And a good side of long updates is the excitement it brings when a new update comes out, Most of people are so excited (including me) for 1.9 for example.
- Minecraft Died, Lost it popularity/ When do you think Minecraft will die? From what i see and what i can tell, Minecraft just has started, It got a lot people this year, And it looks like it will stretch for a good lasting amount of time, I am pretty sure Minecraft will keep hanging forever in my opinion (Yes i have a big imaginative mind) It's because it's not like any game, it's a Living moment in a virtual world unlike anything before.in short words: Minecraft will last for 20/30 or maybe forever, Who knows?
- Get this brand new cream for the face, bikes at my own house.Yes i also hate those advertising people on the forum.
Hopefully people who keep saying minecraft is dying will change their opinion and would reduce the amount of "is minecraft dying..etc" threads in the forums, But still there are opinions around here, people might acutally find minecraft getting boring, well that's their opinion and i have no right to do anything, But the people with opinions need to know that THEY DON'T HAVE TO RUIN OTHER PLAYERS JOY.i'm not screaming, i'm not screaming calm down, you don't have to report now, i am just making it clear.
So tell me What do you guys think about minecraft now.
in my opinion Minecraft is going on a good rout and i think it'll stay like that
(Unless EA caught minecraft, then minecraft will be on the lava riding the death riding the killer meteor heading to the community, No offence to EA people)
Nov 21, 2015DrWeegee posted a message on there is going to be huge changes in pvp servers at minecraft 1.9Posted in: Recent Updates and Snapshots
Okay.... Um.. A lot of your posts contains tons of mis-information, including this one.
if this is 2016 It's 2015, soon to be 2016
1.9 is out already Is going to be out soon.
there is some new servers
if you had played minecraft for a long time
what you think is
i have a diamond sword hes a diamond axe diamond sword 7 damage, diamond axe 3 damage lol i win
that has changed in 1.9
in 1.9, to win a fight (PVP battle) you are gonna need super fast reflexes, and maybe a diamond axe
because of the new item :shield
now ,if someone comes at you with a diamond sword with full diamond armor
and you have nothing but a shield,if you use the shield to block (hold right click),instead of taking 4.5-5 hearts damage
you might just take 2 or 1 hearts of damage [note this block effect wont increase if you have full diamond on,it will still be 2-1 hearts damage] The damage reduction of shields and armor stack
and instead of you taking the damage, the shield does,if you have protection enchantment on it, you take only 1-0.5 hearts damage from a diamond sword
if a mob, player hit you when you are in block mode, you will bouce back, and the attacker will be bouced back 2-3 block away,so you have the chance to run They get bounced back about 1 block
thats new, now there is going to be alot of shield battles now
shields don't only protect you from melee attacks, but from bows too
if a arrow comes at you in shield block mode, the arrow will bounce off the shield, dealing no knockback to yourself and no damage at all
[note a unbreaking enchantment on a shield will make it more durable, and can be used to block attack more times]
also, dont forget,if a player is attacking from behind you,if you are in block mode, the shield wont work, you will take the full damage
same with arrow,if a arrow if shot at you from behind,it just hits you it wont bounce it off
not just behind you
the shield only works with players/mobs in your first person sight,if its from your left/right side, you are blocking, but the attack is not in your sight, you will still take full damage,so if you keep blocking other players can try to get on your sides or behind you to attack
thats all for shields
now food, its even more important now
when you are in full hunger, you will regen faster then normal, regen speed will be almost as fast as a regeneration 1 potion
so if you are on low health in PVP ,you can hide somewhere and eat untill you regen back to full
what ever you are eating as long you have a full hunger, you will have a regen alot faster than normal
just, not as fast as regeneration 1 potion Normal hunger regeneration is about as fast as regeneration 1, while full hunger regeneration seems to be closer to regeneration II
now about PVP PVZ wepons
axe can be called stronger than a sword now
and a shovel can be called a axe now, Shovels only deal .5 more damage in this update, still less than axes pre-1.9, and are considerably slower.
now only the hoe is still a hoe
swords now have a shorter range, before 1.9,you can hit players 4 blocks away with a sword (or any tool) Swords still have their same range...
now,the sword can only hit entitys in 2.5 blocks range, but the axe is still 4 blocks range the range is the same as swords, which is about 3 blocks, which it always been (It seems to extend slightly to 4 in creative move)
meaning in PVP player1 have a diamond sword,player2 have a diamond axe
player2 will be able to hit player1 before player1's diamond sword is in range
player2 have attack range 4 blocks with diamond axe
player1 have attack range of 2.5 blocks with diamond sword Read above.
the only downfall on the axe,is the new added attackspeed feature
the diamond sword have 9.5 attack speed, but the diamond axe will be slight slower 9.0 attack speed Nothing has an attack speed of 9 or higher. The attack speeds are 1.6 and 1 respectively. (The lower the number, the slower)
look at the diamond wepons below
+9 attack damage
9 attack speed 1
4 blocks attack range 3
+7 attack damage
9.5 attack speed 1.6
2.5 blocks attack range 3
this is why the 1.9 diamond shovel is a 1.8 diamond axe,it was +1 attack damage in 1.8 Diamond shovels, again are still weaker, and aren't even a viable weapon
+3 attack damage 5.5 attack damage
9.5 attack speed 1
4 blocks attack range 3
sadly diamond hoe is still +1 damage
every sword in the game is lowered from 4 blocks range to 2.5 blocks
Please... Do a bit of research before posting statistics you aren't 100% sure about. A lot of these are even shown in-game such as attack speed..

There was nothing better about it. Nostalgia makes us think it was though.
I had nostalgia for alpha at one point, but after I downgraded and played the game for a few minutes, I realized I was still playing an incredibly buggy and unfinished version of the game that had little content.
