Ahh that explains it. I think that bug fix has not been ported to 1.8.9. It has been fixed for 1.10

That would do it. We have a few mods running for 1.8.9; chances that could be (or when it will be) ported to it?

I'll investigate. You hatched them using the eggs that drop from slaying a manticore and not by using creative spawn eggs right?

Yes, we all hatched our Manticore from dropped eggs. So far, we've done three, all with the same result. I doubt the kind makes any difference, but since I last logged on it was two Dark and one Poison. We're also playing 1.8.9 version.

I am having an issue with the Manticore. On a server, we have hatched a couple. Problem is, once the creatures grow, they come to attack other players, even their owners! This is a bit infuriating since getting the egg is no easy task.

Any help? I've not an idea on this one.

posted a message on ChickenBones Mods

Ran into a... weird issue. Launching 1.10.2, modded. A small handful that played nice already, adding NEI and of course Chicken Core. And yes, I double checked that I had launched with Forge. I downloaded the mods fresh and most recent, using the most recent Forge for the MC version.

Game loaded fine... then I get presented with 'missing dependencies' when the dependency is there; it doesn't say there's a missing mod in the list either. Screenshot provided of MC window and mods folder. Strange. Does anyone know what's going on here? Core not the right version for NEI?

A+ because now ghasts are a little bit more terrifying.

And I'm trying to capture one!

And the Pig's battle call is way more... frightening.

Awesome! Is there any chance to add in 1.8 mobs? I think you'd have some really creative sounds for Guardians!

posted a message on Dragon Keeper Mod v1 (Models in progress)

why do half these dragons look like dogs? can someone please make an epic dragon mod with chinese real life sized dragons. better europeon dragons and dragons reported all over the world in legend in myth in history in culture.

Dragons are the image of who makes them. To us, these dragons look like dragons. The dragons I have made, I prefer a shorter, stockier body like that seen on animals like cats and dogs. The Eastern Forest dragon (that Ginger made) is a very good rendition of, simply, the Eastern Lung with its longer body. We simply haven't created a Chinese dragon. Also, remember we're new to this. We're testing our wings at the models.

My Birch dragon is more of a drake (wingless), I made him while thinking of -bingo- the Birch forests. He's pretty big, too. The Hummingbird Dragon is simply a species of tiny dragons, cute and probably harmless.

"Real-life" size is very arguable. Like snakes, there are/was monstrously sized beasts (titanaboa) and there are ones that can fit in the void of a graphiteless wood pencil (thread snake). There are the long and lean, and slim and agile. In all- there is no true life size, because they are literally anything you can imagine.

Perhaps you should suggest they be made in this mod, rather than demand someone make it. If you didn't notice, this mod was planned to make a /lot/ of dragons. There's only a few now. As said this, for now, will mostly have wyrms and wyverns, plus drakes and pygmies. Which all, in my book, are under the family name Dracoa.

Whoops, sorry about that, I had to add a direct download link because the forums hyperlink system isn't working right, so try now. I'm also uploading a new version (version 3.1) as we speak.

Direct link tells it's disabled due to it violating Google's ToS. Maybe upload it to Mediafire, Dropbox or Curse?

Also are you pasting in the right URL into the hyperlink? I've been guilty of that many a time. XD

It looks like that was it. I logged on with far fewer people on the server and they spawned.

posted a message on Random Lighting?!

Being nighttime, it sounds like creepers. Lightning does not happen unless it is raining (thunderstorm), or you run into a trap horse (1.9 only).

If you're on a server, it could be someone trolling you.

Or, possibly, this vanilla-mod has tinkered so that the skeleton's arrow also causes explosions. This is highly probable since the vanilla mod has enabled such.

posted a message on Made a slime farm and slimes spawn no longer?

Okay, so I've run into a stump.

I found slime chunks, and dug them out. Three of them in a row. Once they were dug and lit, I was harassed by slimes spawning while I was setting up the cactus, hoppers, etc. Now that I've finished it, there's been zero slimes spawned and I've spent considerable amount of time nearby (about 30 blocks) waiting for spawns, checking roughly every five minutes.

What I think -for whatever reason- is that I used Prismarine (+variants) and Sea Lanterns for the flooring? The space is 5 blocks high and goes to the edges of all chunks, so that's no issue. The only other things are the cactus, eight hoppers and a chest at each area (in each chunk's center). I have dried out and ripped out the interior of a Sea Temple, and it's zero light in some areas. I have not seen a single mob spawn in the temple.

It's worth mentioning that I have looked into it, and slimes should be spawning on these blocks. All mobs should be, but so far in the several hours I've spent around the Temple and the farm, I've not had a hostile mob spawn on Prismarine and its variants. I'm also on a server if that makes any difference, and finally the light level, at minimum, is 9. Also the farm's height occurs at diamond level- 14 is the floor height, if I recall correctly, but it's plenty deep enough for them.

I'll upload screenshots- One is it half-built, and as you can see it's working fine with slimes spawning and rubbing their faces on the cactus. The Sea Lanterns don't seem to have an affect. The other is the completed flooring, which since its completion has not spawned a single one. Each of the three chunk pieces are identical in build. I'd like to know if someone else is having this issue, if I'm doing something wrong, or if this is truly some weird fluke.

posted a message on Crystallized Texture Pack

    'Crystallize' is a Photoshop filter.

    However!

I haven't seen that outright used in a pack before. The effect on the blocks is pretty pleasing despite what appears to be only a filter run on them, if that's the case. Though might I say, doing it on the TNT and the planks wasn't as good an idea as it takes away those certain block's details- I'd run the filter on a copied layer and pick out the details from underneath. Rather, sand, glasses (and glass-related like glowstone) and stones did get a nice effect. I'd run the filter on the stone parts of ores to further blend them.

Easiness aside, and some nitpicks, it's good in the name of looks.

Yep, just right click a nest with chicken eggs and it'll add an egg to the nest. That can only be done in creative though. I think I have a Roc added to my list to do, but I'll have to double check xP

    Yay! Thank you!

A Roc would be cool~! Perhaps also a Thunderbird (kinda related but they can have two heads... and control lightning... I think it was the Thunderbird anyway? I look in Google and I don't see any two-headed ones) would be a neat add... maybe like albino peacocks a Thunderbird could be a rare variant of Roc.

A couple more suggestions from me could be some Birds of Paradise? Perhaps also a spoonbill sandpiper, an albatross (really a sized-up seagull), a blue heron, and a shoebill stork? (Shoebills are actually aggressive, meat-eating birds... perhaps they attack chickens and smaller other birds?)

I don't know if this has been asked before; is there a way to spawn/summon a nest with eggs in it? I'm in a creative world with this mod and I'd like to make some filled nests for decoration.

Also a really cool bird to add could be a Roc! They are huge beasts, and can carry off a man, thus are aggressive. However if you manage to snatch an egg (and survive) you can have a chance to have your own Roc which you can saddle and fly. (perhaps like a horse, or just use the phoenix's way)
