I deleted all of .minecraft, downloaded it, started it, exited it, downloaded modloader, installed it, deleted the meta.inf, started minecraft, exited, downloaded millenaire, installed it, started minecraft, and got the running message. So good so far.

However, I went into some village saves I had tried to play during the incompatible times, and got the "loading chunks" freeze whenever I tried to look at a sign or open a chest.

I'm assuming, per the board, that all saved games I tried to run during the incompatibility are farpotchkeit, but I'm wondering if I head out and start a new village (so I can keep my diamonds and armor and such) if that village will run normally, or if I should just cut my losses here and start from scratch.

If anyone on the board knows please post. Otherwise, I'll post when I do it and find out.

Yepp, should be fine, the villages that were loaded when you loaded up without the mod installed will be borked. But if the mod is installed properly exploring should bring things back into order. Or you could raze the village and use a village wand to re-create it [which should theoretically work].

Can anyone offer some help? The current town project is listed as a fort, but the current construction is a watchtower. The watchtower isn't getting built, and neither is the fort upgrade. If it helps, I destroyed the sign that said where the watchtower was going to be built after about a half hour of nothing happening. Can anyone tell me how to get out of this problem?

I have no clues, sorry man. You could try killing the person who's supposed to be building the project (backing up the world folder first would be a good idea). Or check the millenaire log file to see if there's any error messages there. And they do have the resources to build it right?

Also could be a pathing issue, like the person who's supposed to build it is retarded and doesn't know how to get there [though if she placed a sign that's probably not the case, unless the signs automatically appear].

Ok, so I have 1.6.5 and I installed the mod according to the specifications and whenever I start a new map it loads up freezes, goes to a dirt background screen with "Saving Chunks"; which after 10 seconds turns to a black screen.

If you run minecraft from the command prompt: see here
You should be able to snag a crash report [along with a detailed loading / crash report].

WHY am i getting invisible stuff, no mcpatcher..

HD Texture pack? I know it was an issue in Millenaire 0.6.4. Not sure if it's still an issue.
Then again I'm not exactly sure what is invisible...

Ive instilled the latest verison of millenaire(0.6.5) and the latest verison of modloader and when i log back onto the world i have with this mod all the villagers have disappeared and all the chests are just a black empty space but when i start a new world the villagers are there and the chests are visible can someone help me ?

You probably loaded up the save file when you didn't have Millenaire installed (or installed properly) [or if you loaded it up with just ModLoader to test if ModLoader was working]
If you have a backup of your Saves folder you could copy the world from there and it should work again. If not...

Note: It's a good idea to backup stuff before you touch anything in the minecraft.jar.
[Or regularly backup your saves folder, as some crashes can make worlds un-loadable. (Though usually fixable with MCedit.)]

quick question.... sometimes when I try to trade items to them it trades one at a time, and sometimes in full stacks.... how do you like toggle between them and stuff?

    Quote from Kinniken »
Hold the left shift key while clicking on a trade good in the trade screen to trade 8 by 8 or the left control key to trade 64 by 64.

From the OP. [If it's doing it randomly for you, it might be another mod that you have that adds strange modifier keys for things.]

im not sure if thats good or bad, but i kno my situation is the same as bac8434 everything installed correctly, but millenaire refused to work

Ok, ok, you put the .ZIP file -from- the [put in mods folder] in the .minecraft/mods folder (not the folder itself).
    - Same goes for the millenaire folder (into the .minecraft folder). [located in the [put in minecraft folder] folder]

Edit: Though, it may have found the zip which is a little odd.

I'm using TFC Mod Manager due to the ease of installation, but it won't allow me to use this mod. While attempting to log in, it fails to load Mod_EasyChest.class. Any ideas on what I need to do to fix this? (Does it matter that I'm playing offline?)

I'm not sure if this mod is compatible with TFC Mod Manager. Works fine with Risugami's ModLoader though.

Loving the mod so far, even with only repair mod available to me. I did find a bug though, not sure exactly what the cause is yet, either the mod or the patch update. Anyways, I'm on 1.6.5 using 1.6.4 version of the mod, when I shift click from the magic chest my game client crashes right away.

According to Aero, this mod isn't fully compatible with 1.6.5. [Probably needs to be re-updated with MCP again.] (the shift-click issue is probably because in 1.6.4 if you shift-clicked stuff in your inventory the game would crash. :tongue.gif:)

    Quote from Aero96

Yes, does not work completely with 1.6.5.
    I´ll look into it later.

Regardless, I still think it would be nice to buy any property that's been built by the villager's and hasn't yet been occupied.

You can add custom building plans to have them build you a house.
Like this amazing one by Seldron

(I know I setup a custom plan for them to build me a zone that I can build on... but I've yet to get them to actually build it... dunno if I'm doing something wrong or if they're just lazy / think their buildings are more important)

As far as buying one, it's an interesting concept. I'm not sure how it'd actually work out, maybe another wand like the village wand that would just spawn a house from a block of planks/cobblestone or something. [Or an option when you right-click on the sign of an unoccupied home....]

Yeah, I followed the mac Modloader instructions, and then followed the instructions for the Millenaire install, and everything runs fine, but nothing pops up when I hit V. I would assume that means a bad install somewhere, but I don't know what step I'm missing.

Check the modloader log to see what it says. (modloader. [well it would be .txt dunno for macs] in the .minecraft folder)

Hey, I'm having some trouble with this mod, I have Modloader and everything, my game is updated to 1.6.4 etc etc. Yet when I start up the game after installing this mod it says the text along the lines of "press v to find a village" or something and than it saying "saving chunks", followed by a black screen. What could be causing this issue?
    Thanks

Well the 0.6.5 version of Millenaire is for 1.6.5 minecraft. [However the 0.6.4 version works with 1.6.4 minecraft]

As far as what could cause it; lots. Though probably a failure to update entity (as a guess).

Okay, sorry if this is repetitive but I have yet to figure this out. I downloaded the mod, installed the newest ModLoader, put all the mod files where they should be according to the included picture, deleted the META-INF from my minecraft.jar file and ...nothing. No problems running my game, but no mod as far as I can tell. Am I missing a step somewhere? Also, running on a mac, in case there's a different step I need to follow because of that.

All I can tell is that it's either bad install of Millenaire or ModLoader. Did you follow the ModLoader's Mac install instructions? (sorry I'm no good w/ macs)
[It'd be easy to tell if it's installed just by hitting the 'v' key if it brings up no text like "no villages in range, keep searching." or anything; then it's definitely not installed or loading properly.]

Another of my mods that had been update for 1.6.4 worked out of the box with 1.6.5 + Modloader 1.6.5 so I tested with Millenaire:
    java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
            at sun.reflect.GeneratedConstructorAccessor12.newInstance(Unknown Source
    )
            at sun.reflect.DelegatingConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance(Unknown Sou

            at iz.a(SourceFile:62)
            at MLTileEntityBuilding.createCouple(Unknown Source)
            at MLTileEntityBuilding.updateTownHall(Unknown Source)
            at MLTileEntityBuilding.m_(Unknown Source)
            at fb.g(SourceFile:1131)
            at net.minecraft.client.Minecraft.k(SourceFile:1398)
            at net.minecraft.client.Minecraft.run(SourceFile:720)
            at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
    Caused by: java.lang.NoSuchFieldError: ag
            at MLEntityVillager.<init>(Unknown Source)
            at MLEntityKnight.<init>(Unknown Source)
            ... 11 more

And modloader still calls v0.6.4.zip Millenaire v 0.6.3c when it loads it.

Oh, interesting note I forgot to mention. It did generate a town on a newly-created world, it just was unable to populate it. But it did have all the buildings/signs. Did not crash, just gives that error lots [and tells you to check the millenaire.log file for the "error in UpdateEntity()"].

All I can say is that this is not a Magic Chest problem.
Seems that ModLoader edits a class, which has been changed in 1.6.5.
And this causes an error, I guess. Obfuscation does not change in minor updates.

Ah ok *was worried we were going to have to wait for MCP again*
New Modloader(1.6.5) is up. Or you're saying current Magic Chest will run with that? *will test*

Hey, look at that. Magic Chest 0.7 works with Minecraft 1.6.5 + Modloader 1.6.5 [Though I only tested quantum software *loves me some channels*]

*still need to plan to take over the world!* :tongue.gif:
