    posted a message on [1.7.10] RedLogic - replacement for RP2 Wiring/Logic/Lighting
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had any success with using Microblocks+RedLogic with the new FTB Unleashed Beta pack? If so, care to share your experience? :)

Yeah, I've tried with both versions of ftb, none are working. Hopefully it's just setting up the whitelist.

Now I'm bored and don't want to play on another server :(

I have been unable to play since the server went down approx. 15 hours ago or so. What happened? If the whitelist has been activated, could I please be added to it? Thanks!

    Ingame name is Airship

posted a message on Multiplayer connection issue
Whenever I try to join a multiplayer server, minecraft stops responding. It just gets stuck on "logging in", before either freezing, or returning with a "took too long to log in" almost 10 minutes later.

Anyone know what it's about? It's worked fine until today. Is it a Java issue? Anything I can do to remedy the issue? Anyone have any similar experiences?

    Thanks in advance!

posted a message on Birch Wood
    Quote from Lord Avion »
Well, most things usually burn in lava so that is understandable and there's actually a reason that Birch doesn't burn normally. If you look up the real Birch tree, you'd see that Birch has unusually high fluid levels and doesn't burn well at all in real life.

    That is just... wrong.

Birchwood has unusually high OIL levels. Making it burn EXTREMELY WELL. One of the best ways to create a fire in wet wilderness is to find a birch tree and strip it of its bark, because it will burn well even while wet!

When you buy firewood in europe, it's almost always birchwood. Why? Cause it burns well, and doesn't even need to dry as much as other woods before its usable.

EDIT: Just saw your location. You're Swedish. HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW THIS?!

posted a message on Lowest sealevel?
I was more thinking of how far down the sea itself can be, not lakes and springs. So far my own testing seems to indicate it can go no deeper than 55.

Didn't find anything on the wiki or by searching, so figured I'd save some time by just asking here.

I'm trying to build a tunnel, but it will go underneath the sea at several locations. So I figured I might as well be fancy about it, and make the roof out of glass at these locations. Admiring squids and all that.

Does anyone know what the lowest level the sea can be is?

No way around it but to destroy every disfigured tree, sadly :sad.gif:

    Quote from White Owl »
Yeah, it's kind of an ugly bug. If it really bothers you, just edit your terrain.png so all three trees use the same kind of leaves. That will hide the problem until Notch fixes this.

You're assuming Notch will fix it. He's repeatedly stated that you shouldn't become too attached to your saves, as updates may break them. Him trying to fix something caused by an entirely new tree system is just a waste of his time, imo.

I assumed this was some aesthetic update to make forests look more realistic?
I quite like how it gives the wild trees variety, but I can see how it could be really annoying if you're trying to make things neat. Any word on whether this is a bug, or a feature?

It's a bug. Plant a new tree - or start a new world, and you'll see that the new trees no longer sport hybrid leaves.

posted a message on Blue dye is rarer than diamonds
    Quote from Schemer »
It's not actually more rare than diamond. It just seems that way, since it's less concentrated in 1 - 32 layers instead of 1 - 16 layers.

    Quote from Sven_The_Slayer »
    cactus is renewable
    black ink is renewable
    flowers are common
    bones are renewable
Lapis Lazuli is rare and non-renewable...

I think the Lapis Lazuli might have intended to be like red-stone and give you multiple crystals per block but somebody goofed up... at least I hope that's the problem. I would much rather have seen a blue flower added instead of the blue ore. Don't get me wrong blue ore is fine but it should not be the ONLY way to get the blue shades. Five of the colors require Lapis Lazuli as one of their ingredients so... well that's bad...

Blue dyes can't be made from flowers. Blue is not biologically occurring in an actual way. If you try to get dye from a blue flower or feather, it won't work, because it's not actually blue, and is just light refracting a certain way. This is why you need an ore for it.

Indigo would like to have a word with you.

EDIT: That being said, I like a color to be rare. having blue lots of blue stuff would be a sign of great wealth :smile.gif: This way you have the commoner colors being white, black, green and brown (brown will be added back in later, according to wiki, and will probably be renewable) being common and renewable, rarer colors yellow and red being non-renewable but not hard to get, and lastly blue being rare and a symbol of wealth.

    I like it that way.

Bonemeal is fine... Please, OP, stop making new polls :\

This is the first thread I made in months lol...

Yes, I checked after writing the post. There was another guy earlier who had a poll that ended in just about the same way.

Anyway, Bonemeal only gets ridiculous once you have a spawner. But by then (unless extremely lucky) you'll have a massive treefarm/farm anyway, and bonemeal will be all but useless. As it is now, the balance is fair.

posted a message on How can Pigmen be prevented from spawning on minecart rail?
EDIT: Read the rest of the topic now, seems like I was mistaken. My bad.

I have quite a long tunnel going through the nether to connect my two bases. The only places where pigmen spawn are in lighted areas. Basically, remove all torches and windows. I've found that the "natural" light in the Nether isn't as dark as the real world, so you should be able to see fine.

All that being said, I haven't thoroughly tested this. It's just that in my experience, pigmen has never spawned in the dark areas of my tunnel (which is most of it)

posted a message on mm10o4's castle project REPOSTED
Hmm... Do you like harsh criticism? If not, err, don't read this post :tongue.gif:

First of all. The last downloadlink you posted is heavily outdated, as in, not even half the stuff that's in the vid is there.

About the megaproject itself... It isn't really very impressive. It's basically a huge stone rectangle with a glass roof and a railway circling around it. Sorta reminds me of those ugly supermarket-buildings you just know was built for maximizing profit, not for awing tourists. The blatant use of hacks doesn't really make it better; you could easily replicate this in mere minutes using those hacks.

The rail is nice, but would be much better if it was built properly, with supports and detail. As of now it's just a circle of cobblestone. Since you're already using hacks, why not make it wider, with arches and support columns and the lot?

All in all it's an island with a big ugly stone building, with a uglier railway coursing around the premises. Which btw tops the ugly by being full of "too-small-to-be-awesome-but-too-large-to-not-get-noticed" craters...

    err... Sorry.
