posted a message on Diamond in Abandoned mineshaft!
I've found diamonds in the chests a few times. It is overpowered if you ask me.

If anything diamonds should be only found in stronghold chests, which right now contain almost nothing.

In fact you will find way better loot in mineshafts than in strongholds. It kind of takes away from the whole adventure aspect of the game in reality.

posted a message on If block carrying is being nerfed, Notch is most likely going to compensate for it...
Instead of destroying torches I would like to see them dim light sources as they pass by them, now that would be creepy, and much less annoying.

posted a message on Potions in Minecraft.
This has been know for a while, some of these potion effects exist in the game now, while most of them currently do not work.

potion.regeneration occurs when you eat a golden apple for instance.

posted a message on 1.9 Prerelease or full release tommorow!
Hmm, there hasn't been any information on features like NPCs in villages, animal breeding, experience/skills, etc.

Hopefully this will be 1.8.2, because we are missing out on a lot of features here that were expected in 1.9.

Also, Jeb just started on working Nether content like... a few days ago right? Either He worked very fast, or the Nether will still be lacking in content even after the update.

My guess is that Notch and Jeb have enough completed content that they are ready to release another update. I hope you all haven't grown too attached to your maps, your house might just be in a "mushroom biome" now.

More biomes are on the way, most of the biomes which gave us a bright green color are now gone for the time being.

The ghast sounded one is very useful, becose if I hear moans I think its a zombie, but if I hear creepers in the owerworld, I know I have to run for my pumpkin hat.

Hopefully Notch implements a unique sound effect by 1.9, they deserve a terrifying sound effect. Something even more frightening than ghasts.

    Quote from Venicus

Can you explain to us how to keep them from marring up the entire landscape? Are you proposing covering the entire world in a 2 meter high ceiling?
Also, wouldn't making it toggle-able in the mod be kind of pointless? Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but what would the point of that be? Don't you install the mod because you want to change their properties?

Don't even listen to him, in his mind if you are not playing Minecraft one way, and one way only then you are playing the game wrong, because apparently building anything isn't the point of minecraft, and adventure maps are not a valid way to play the game.

In fact anyone who is defending this tends to build one small base, gather as many resources as possible, and barely use them.

Great job on the mod Jeffrey6978, a lot of players have been waiting for this. I hope we see something like this for multiplayer servers though.

posted a message on Enderman Is Sabotage!
    Quote from Yazman

I never said it would make performance suffer or cause instability. You really have a knack for making up complete ********, don't you? Like your idea earlier that anybody who likes Endermen the way they are just "hates building."

Having a toggle is simply a ridiculous solution, simply because people propose it whenever there's something they don't like, as if the developers must cater to them. Firstly it reeks of entitlement issues and secondly, it's just ridiculous. If we add a toggle every time somebody doesn't like part of the game, the options menu will just have hundreds of options. It's plainly a stupid solution.

Incorporate it into difficulty, as it stands there is very little difference between setting the game to easy, and setting the game to hard.

If Endermen add a "challenge" to the game, let people enable that on Hard.

posted a message on [myth busted] Enderman can pick up ANY block
    Quote from muncher21

    Kill them then.
    they aren't that hard.
Also, just repair the ONE HOLE.
It's not like they actively deconstruct your entire base.
    They take
    One
    Block.
Are you too stupid to repair a one block hole?

So people want to actually have a CHALLENGE in the game.
But you bitches just whine and complain that it's getting in the way of your autism.

Kill them? I don't have time to run all over the place to hunt an kill ever endermen that might have spawned at any given point.

We never implied Endermen are hard to kill, or even remotely a challenge. Just a pest.

One Endermen can remove and place a lot more than one block, multiply this by however endermen may have spawned on the map and your creations will be ruined without your knowledge in a few hours.

You are implying everyone who plays have only one base, and/or structures that are insignificant. I run a server, try protecting hundreds of home, structures, landmarks, minecart systems, and redstone contraptions.

Make no mistake, there is a difference between challenge and chore. Of course, with someone as autistic as you I can understand the misconception.
