The lighting issues are really starting to **** me off, Jeb and Nathan have thus far neglected the bug, and have shown no signs of even acknowledging it exists.
But whoop de do, ("guess what? It's a hardware problem, not a update problem, your computer just sucks!") or ("It will be fixed in the next snapshot anyway!") This is how the minecraft community responds to everything wrong with their precious game, I have seen these two arguments time and time again on the forums, in relation to the lighting bug.
I don't like to brag about my PC specs, but lets just say I can more than handle any game at max settings. Secondly, every thread that acknowledges a bug gets shot down, with the OP getting belittled. The snapshots are here for testing and reporting bugs, not pretending they don't exist.
Further more, almost every week for the last 5 or 6 weeks (who is keeping track?) I've seen someone say "they will fix X bug in the next snapshot, stop crying". Clearly Mojang isn't going to fix these bugs if everyone keeps quiet about it.

I don't have the issue. I haven't had block lag or mob glitching in any of the recent snapshots.
Oh it's there, and it's certainly not a hardware issue.
The problem isn't immediately apparent, but the little delays and desynchronization issues really get annoying. Especially in combat situations.
Everyone is experiencing this issue. It has nothing to do with specs, and everything to do with the snapshot.

That's impossible. Every real game has glitches no matter what.
You can't deny that running off of a server causes a RIDICULOUS amount of bugs. As it stands single player isn't even playable (obviously), but even if the major issues are sorted out we would still have to deal all of the synchronization issues.
The Server-to-Client architecture needs to be completely reworked and optimized.
In case anyone disagrees with me, please ride in a boat in singleplayer.
Whether or not these issues will be fixed remains to be seen, as we have heard nothing.
Feb 14, 2012NPC villagers reproduce asexually, their "noses" aren't noses at all, but rather buds which will develop into their offspring.Posted in: 1.1 Update Discussion
This explains why their "noses" are grossly misshapen and why they are all identical in appearance.

Isn't it about time they added the Giant to Vanilla? I mean, come on, make it even a 1/100 chance of spawning if you wish, I just want to roam the land of Minecraft and encounter a giant.
You can't say it doesn't fit the theme either cause it is just a big zombie.
The gameplay mechanics involved with the giant are terrible, they would need a complete rework.

Aug 14, 2012Just spent a bit tinkering and finding all the dependancies as 64-bit. I've uploaded my 0.1.2 Win32 build from the other day as well as a 0.1.2 Win64 build to github now.Posted in: Minecraft Tools
These are built from TK's 0.1.2 files, so they probably won't work on Intel GPUs. However, they do have the Minecraft 1.3.1 blocks from the updated pymclevel.

Guys, they are bugs and all but, the snapshots are for testing, and not for playing as a regular version.
You aren't forced to download them so if you mess your saves it's your own fault
Irrelevant much? We're just listing bugs, we're not complaining.
Jun 2, 2012This is what I was afraid of when the merge was first announced.Posted in: Recent Updates and Snapshots
Yes, this IS a snapshot, and bugs WILL be fixed. However, when issues are still very present, more than a MONTH after this was introduced, we have a serious problem. Mojang shouldn't have tried to do this if they weren't certain they could make SSP still work seamlessly.
I'm not confident they'll fix this stuff before 1.3. But who knows, Jeb and the Bukkit team might pull off a miracle.
If they don't, however, they will be dealing with six million angry customers.

Edit2: I found the problem! It wasn't a population issue or lighting issue as I previously though, it was the massive amounts of overlapping Mycelium I had on the map. Basically every chunk had massive amount of Mycelium blocks unexposed to light, which meant thousands of blocks had to be updated on each pass. (Mycelium turning into dirt).
Ah! Thanks for finding this out. I'll make it so WorldPainter only renders the topmost block as Mycelium, and any lower blocks as Dirt (like it already does for Grass, so with Grass you should not encounter this problem).
Mar 3, 2012Just for the record, I was never able to get in contact with anyone at Mojang. Either I wasn't persistent enough in sending emails or they never got around to returning them.Posted in: Minecraft Tools
Anyway, here are two files you'll need to update when any new blocks or items are added:
Blocks - https://github.com/mcedit/pymclevel/blob/master/minecraft.yaml
Items - https://github.com/mcedit/pymclevel/blob/master/items.txt

ok, so I was on the train the other day and i was listening to some Slayer. Next thing I know this lady is standing over me yelling at me. Apparently I had my music a bit too loud and apparently shes not too much of a slayer fan. Anyway , she yelled at me about how how I'm going to hell and how that kind of music is "the reason people get abortions". She finished it off by saying how the song (Jihad, by Slayer) is "a hellish tornado of Satan worship". I looked at her for a good 20 seconds, but i couldnt hold it back: I then fell on the ground laughing, it was too funny, she dragged her kids off at the next stop even though, according to one of them " this isnt even our stop" to which she replied " I don't care we'll take the next train" (which wasnt for another hour. Please tell me I'm not the only one who thought she was insane
All I can say is this:
That ***** is one of the reasons so many kids today are ****ing idiots.
