    everything looks good, but something really bothers me.

    the gold sword and stone sword.

    I mean, firstly the gold sword is the helix sword from majoras mask. why would you use the helix sword when there's actually a golden sword In the Game?

    and why not use the Razor sword for the stone sword and the hero sword for the wood sword?

    The weapons make no sense to me...

    posted a message on A glitch that has been around FOREVER.
    I actually used to have this problem as well. My game would crash, and i'd be at where i last saved from the esc menu with everything i dug out reverted, especially in multiplayer servers. Really isnt any way around it, it's with your hardware. Most you can do is optimize your performance and push esc and chill for a few seconds and save every 15 minutes or so. that's what I did.

    Id rather xp mine from ores give less and it all be linear, then get it super easily up until lvl 30 then waste xp if i dont immediately enchant something.

    it's a simple solution. xp doesn't affect anything. its nothing but a currency.

    It was better the way it was before. You earn the damn thing. I'd rather just get back my eye of ender than the obsidian. forget that. it's a nerf that pretty much made it just another chest to people that dont need to have 4 different structures in four different regions. end game item? yeah, okay.

    silk touch is complicated. they decided to randomize enchantments, that one having one of the lowest likelihoods. it's damn rare. and it's wasted if you get it on a so-few-uses golden pickaxe. ive dropped a whole chestful of golden pickaxes and not once gotten it.

    you can just smelt. and coal/redstone is abundant so you can get 30 exp in about 15 minutes.

    the fact is it has to be done. you cant pick your enchantments, so you have to go and get 30 exp so you wont get stiffed by the curve, go back to your enchanting block unless you carry it with you, and pray you wasted your time to get the exact opposite of what you wanted otherwise you have to repeat the steps.

    unless you want to revamp how easy/difficult it is to get ender eyes and/or silk touch, change the enderchest back.

    Well, the seed for your world (along with various other stuff about your character) is stored in that level.dat file. If you replace the level.dat with one from another save file, it will change the seed to whatever the new file's randomly generated seed was.

    When the game goes to create new chunks (which happens any time you travel beyond where you've already been) it uses the seed to figure out how to make the new areas of the world. If the seed is different than it was before, then the world can drastically change along the chunk boundary. Huge mountains with sheer sides next to plains, etc. You'll end up with areas where the whole terrain/biome/etc. changes along a perfect line where the new generation took over.

    This can do things like cut villages and strongholds in half, and other messy things. It's mostly just aesthetic problems, but it looks awful.

    i knew what the seed was, but i didnt know where it was stored. Im just glad it isnt game crashing.

    thanks for that vital information though. everything's been backed up to avoid further damages. :)

    I hate this nerf. Im one of the people who will hunker down in one area and just chill and mine that area. using this as a backpack made me feel a bit more secure when i found valuables like diamonds.

    now, in order to do that, i have to find endermen. getting blaze powder is easy. ender pearls are not. they're rare and so is silk touch, and by nerfing the chest, it makes it just another box to store stuff albeit prettier.

    and the silk touch nonsense. dont even. now that theres a level cap at 30, then a drop in exp collection, you pretty much only get one shot to get a silk touch tool between grinding sessions. its a hassle that just isnt worth it.

    it's just another chest with a small bit of convenience.

    If you do what this poster is suggesting, the world seed will change (unless you typed in the same one as you did the first time) and very bad things will happen when you go to generate new chunks.


    What happens when Minecraft doesn't shut down properly is that the "level.dat" file often gets corrupted. "level.dat_old" is the "backup" that Minecraft makes automatically. Replacing the corrupted version with the backup may still lose some stuff, but at least it doesn't change the seed (which has devastating effects on world generation, that you won't notice until you travel beyond where you've already been).
