posted a message on Anyone Else Play Survival Mode in Peaceful?

Most of the time I leave it on hard mode, but when I'm mining for quartz in the nether or working on a really big project, I will set it to peaceful just so I don't deal with hassles. I also put it on peaceful when i'm moving villagers around outside to prevent them from being killed by zombies.

Sometimes when I put it on peaceful mode, I have a tendency to leave it as such for longer than expected. It nice once in a while to have a little stress-free play.

I also like how you can still get most achievements in peaceful mode that don't require killing mobs. Ender Dragon fight without stupid endermen, at least after defeating it the first time on another difficulty. Or exploring end cities without those crappy shulkers. No shame in it. Not everyone needs a challenge to have fun.

Lately, I have started preferring mutton and fish because they give good saturation without filling a lot of hunger, which is good for when you need to heal but don't have a lot of hunger points lowered. Steak and pork chops feel wasted in those moments and, healing seems to happen more than just severe hunger does.

My game hangs up too when saving. It happens often enough now that I tense up when I see auto save counting down, cross my fingers and hold my breath. There does not seem to be a cause to it. I used to think it was due to moving or being active right at save, but it appears to be random with no correalation to anything. I tried taking it off auto save but it doesn't make any difference whether I save manually or not, it will hang up and there's nothing to be done, nothing to prevent it. So i just save every fifteen minutes and hope for the best.

Console minecraft does have a tutorial and a free map at spawn. Maybe he could try that version.

I can't kill the dragon either. The game keeps blackscreening and going back to the main menu. This has happened every single time i go to the end. About to say screw it and get the wings out of creative mode

posted a message on Constant crashes and freezes after yesterdays patch

Is anyone else getting random resets as well? I have been seeing that at least once in every play session, especially when going into host options. This only started happening after the update. I explored a huge cave for an hour, my auto-save is set to every 15 minutes. I know I saved multiple times in that cave, yet after the reset, i started almost at the beginning. I lost five stacks of iron, 27 diamonds, several stacks of lapis, redstone, and coal. This is seriously going to ruin the enjoyment for me.

Minecraft has every feature I like in different games all combined into one. You have your action and adventure, you have simulation, rpg, creativity, strategy, and constant expansion that is free. It appeals to kids, i think because it's complex but surprisingly user friendly, and you can do whatever you want.

It appeals to adults because it's rich and imaginative and there's no limits to what can be done, building, redstone, strategies, upgrades and exploits. It's also a game that can appeal to men and women and actually puts them on the same level. Minecraft is the perfect game.

Ok, I figured out what the problem had been. Because my trading center branches off from my basement and my crops branched off from the trading center, they were actually responding to my own house as a village because of my doors. So I replaced them with iron doors and pressure plates and now everything is back to normal.
