posted a message on Railcraft 9.2.2.0
Im having odd id conflicts with the mystcraft, but it seems to be from mystcraft using ids different than in its config file.
When I try to correct it by changing railcraft ids, recipes break.

EDIT: nevermind. it was from mystcraft using item ids below 256 in its config, which was messing with a recipe

This question came up yesterday (i think, or was it the day before yesterday? nvm) .... some mods do add a 256 to those id's read from its config file ... caused by some vanilla code which always subtract 256 from a given item id

Thank you, that was it, adjusted the id above 256 and it was fine; seems minecraft doesn't allow item ids below 256. Last time I used mystcraft with railcraft I used direwolf20's config file and he had already figured out all the conflicts.

posted a message on Compact Light Sensors, 1x/7x/12x/14x Sensitivity
I have been trying to get the nano to work in the snapshot for 1.3, and its no longer working. I have built the old style that Etho built back in 1.7.3 without issues, haven't checked it to see if its still working at that base. I stood there and watched the grass grow, and the BUD just didnt change. Also the grass grew at night, with a light chimney with no light sources reaching it from above, and the redstone torches inside that are needed.

Specifically having issues with the underground nano version, the normal one works fine for me, as does the one in my old base.

Scratch that didn't notice the one torch position properly... Just a daily dose of feeling like a moron.

One issue I have is that if you make a lot of changes in your world, then move away rapidly (minecart or flying) then the chunks may not save if the auto save is delayed, since minecraft suprisingly does not save a chunk when said chunk unloads unless you save and quit. Three times its caused an issue for me, never anything more than a few dozen blocks. Since the auto save time is changeable (and default longer in optifine), it would be nice if chunks were saved when they unload ever time.

Wall it up, fix it up, connect it with gravel roads to any nearby villages or my builds. Also upgrade some things, like getting the butcher pigs or cows or adding basements.

You need to edit the TMI config file to work with the server your on, it says that in the TMI thread. Also you need to be an op on that server too as TMI just is a shortcut in MP for the typed out give commands.

    Yes, outside
Yes, chopping them down, using fists, sword, pick, and axe (yes, I tried each) but the end result was still only a 15-20% return.

That is some bad luck, I plant 1 and get 10-15 back. I think I have got 5 back at the lowest but usually over 10.

posted a message on Mushroom spread too slow?
It was broken, You would have entire cave systems covered in mushrooms, even some forests. That could lead to no mobs spawning in those caves as there would be no spawnable areas (solid block with 2 air above it). Though they could have made it so it would still spread on say.. planks maybe? since those dont connect in a way that would cause issues in caves or forests.

They can seem endless, here is a biome map of part of my world, it covers a 6000x6000 area:

Seems the further out you go the more ocean you find, like we are on Pangaea or something

posted a message on Nether Portal Question
Delete the DIM-1 folder in that saves (%appdata%/.minecraft/saves/worldname) folder to delete its nether, Disabling a portal just disables the portal. With proper setup portals can be turned off and on with a button, docm77 on YouTube has a portal setup like that. Water for off, lava/fire with a flammable material for on.
If that nether was generated in the current minecraft deleting it will just generate the exact same nether, if it was generated in say 1.7 and you delete it in 1.9 it will generate differently with the new features.

Awesome tool, only one was in new terrain for me though :/ *deletes some chunks and checks two spots* Two are found now just to make easy paths to them, third would be right in a giant cavern I mined out and started building in already though. Good to know I have some in my old world that I could actually get to, did a bit too much exploring before 1.8 and thought I wouldn't have any.

gravel, signs, ladders and doors to make underwater air pockets, then its fairly easy to build under water. Also since the seabed has large flat areas its even better.

Ive seen a few Minecrafters showing this off before, usually with hostile mobs. I think Etho showed it once and mentioned where he heard of it. Pretty interesting, a bit old but not well known about.

posted a message on starting a new nether?
You could delete the DIM-1 folder in that save, though it depends on what version that part of your nether was generated. If it was generated in 1.8 regenerating it in 1.8 will result in the exact terrain on that world. If it was generated with an different version it will generate differently.

You probably have jar files set to open with a zip program like winzip or something then. Just put it in the proper place and it should work fine.
