I typically don't reply to these threads. Maybe occasionally if I think one can be saved and it's not one of the usual trolls. But I do check on them and report them if necessary. It's always different groups of people who reply. Every couple of months, they wise up, it seems... and then a new group steps in to reply to troll threads.
Let's not forget those not-so-bright users who bump joke threads from like 6 months ago because looking at the posting dates takes wayyyy too much effort. I don't know any other forum that has so many overlooked things combined.
You can't blame him for trying. It can be made to be different from other mechanics in the game. Besides, if pure upgrades are bad, why do we have diamond equipment, powered rails, horses, or upgradable potions?
Oh wow, all of those comparisons fall flat on their faces. Diamond tools are balanced and don't exactly fly us around, they're still hard to get and like the post above me said, they don't last forever - at least not without constant repairing (which can cost more diamonds). How are powered rails an upgrade? What? Sometimes there might be a part where powered rails aren't needed at all.
Why are horses mentioned? Do you mean they're an upgrade of pigs? If so, pigs are mindlessly useless anyway. I don't know why they were ever made rideable. Potions aren't "upgraded". You can either have more duration or more power, not both. I guess they can be upgraded when you give the base potion glowstone or redstone, but I don't see an issue there.
As far as I can tell: if the idea has enough thought put into it, it can still be made perfect.

The first sentence is just not true for all ideas. Some people put a lot of thought into thirst bars and all of those threads still fail hard. Real hard. Some ideas just can't be perfected, so what you're doing here is just showcasing blind optimism by having ballooned hearts in your eyes over an idea that's been established as bad from day 1.
To find the killer I need to find out how to fix the problem. Until I Find out how to fix the problems I can't find the Killer.

I admire you for standing by your suggestion, but I don't think you're gonna come out the victor. These dragons are very powerful and perhaps a littletoo useful. It's just something that doesn't fit that good in vanilla. Once I have these dragons, I'll probably never need another wolf again. It's too much. no support.
I know alot of you will not support just because this is a game changing idea, but that isn't stopping me from suggesting it, people usually say no to suggestions that change the game a lot.

as far as I can tell, their seams to be a lot of upsides for the creative aspect of the game and no downsides at all.
My reasoning is that we have plenty of decorative/dyeable blocks and whatnot, and now we're tossing in this decked out paint system which kinda ruins the point of most of what we have already. The downsides were already presented here. Who needs colored wool if one slather of paint gets the job done? I know this part is for Mojang to worry about and not players, but it seems like a lot of pointless work for throw in a new system just for that.
Gonna go with yet another thing Theriasis said and it'd be better to just bring in more colors of blocks.
This post says nothing about why this Idea would be bad or even useless.

I find this somewhat useless. I'm sure people would make neat things with it, but we're talking about a brand new mechanic just to make some blocks look different. I probably should have just quoted all of Theriasis' posts.
The first point is unfounded and the second subjective and therefore invalid. Paint is hardly "too much of a good thing;" the ability to paint can barely be considered detrimental to anybody's experience. As for every block not looking good painted, well, it depends on how well the tinting system looks and personal preference.
Not every block is gonna be optimal for being painted over. Also, everyone likes to say "the idea has no negatives" or "it wouldn't hurt anyone" and then use that as their main point to defend the idea. Adding a pink creeper or a different color diamond wouldn't hurt anything, but that doesn't make the idea good.
This isn't the worst idea but I do think it would be a very awkward add. I wouldn't throw in a new game mechanic just for that. Gonna go with what Theriasis said and just agree that adding more dyes or decoration blocks would be a better path to take.
I think that this is a pretty good idea! To make it lag less, maybe when you painted a block, it would create a thin, transparent entity so that it would basicly be like placing stained glass over that block! But anyways, support for you!
That's actually worse than the original idea. That's gonna create some bad overlap problems.

Any movie that breaks out in song for hardly any reason, and the song has barely anything to do with anything. Like Frozen, which should be called "Music: The Musical".
New movies that use super outdated humor. The next time I hear "I had beans for breakfast huehuehue" after a fart sound effect I'm gonna make loud "HUR HURR HUR" sounds in the theater and ruins everyone else's good time.

Storm wouldn't work, the damage immunity renders the other arrows useless.
Freezing things motionless is too overpowered.
Drawback has no reason for the 1.5 durability thing. Enchantments are meant to be positives, not sidegrades.
Reverb is truly just unfitting and random...
