I'm pretty sure Mojang has rejected this suggestion in the past. Something to do with weather, especially snow getting messed up by it. Don't know the details though.

Funny how Axolotl are announced to be in the game

You can already create some sort of sport without an specialized item that only exist to serve those purpose. Like something as simple as sumo to something ambitious like the mini game district from the hermitcraft server.

I think it's just doesn't really interact with other aspect of the game. It won't ruin the game or break immersion for sure but it just feels out of place I guess. Although the pot thing is cool.

While I get where you're coming from. Gem blocks like diamond and gold block look awful when turned into stairs and slabs because their texture are made to pop out instead of blending in when tiled. Just use a texture pack that replaces oak plank with diamond block for example and see how good the stair would look.

Depends on the server, minigame server like Hypixel use the no hit delay plugin because player from any game version older than 1.8.9 can join the server without experiencing sword cooldown. Another reason why is because the server simply embraced post-1.9 combat and therefore has no need for such plugin.

I feel like this video will provide a clearer understanding as to why a gamerule or a switch won't work:
Also, sword hit delay can be removed via command block in vanilla. There's also a ton of plugin which attempts to simulate the legacy combat.
Jun 1, 2020AaronBlader12 posted a message on A thesis on the influence of video game mods on the gameplay experience of the playerPosted in: Discussion
- How would you describe the gameplay experience in Minecraft?
They are quite relaxing because in Minecraft, you can do almost anything you want. From building huge creation in creative to surviving the world together with friends.
- What do you generally think of Minecraft mods?
They greatly enhance the gameplay experience and adds new experience to the same game. Does server plugin counts since they're not exactly built in to the vanilla game.
- How do you see the effect of mods on your Minecraft gameplay experience?
Mods adds new experience to the game, but i guess it depends on the mod itself.
- Can you also describe any possible negative experiences with mods on your Minecraft gameplay experience?
The negative experience i have with mod would be when they conflict with the gameplay experience with the vanilla game.
- Do you read any mod reviews and if yes, how do you see the effect of this on your opinion of the mod?
Yes, i take the review with a grain of salt and try the mod for myself.
- How do you hope / modding will develop in the near future for Minecraft or other games and why?
I hope mods are more compatible into the game to minimize conflict whether in terms of gameplay mechanic or simply not crashing the game.

I don't know what's wrong with weapon's reach, I think it could even introduce new weapon to the game. As for the autoclicker, I can see why they add it. Minecraft isn't mainly combat focused and for those who have a hand problem might find the feature useful. I mean what's wrong with making combat more accessible towards more players who don't have a good mouse which if they spam click would lead to physical problems?
The statement you make seems pretty exaggerated, not everyone is angered by this new mechanic. Not everyone thinks this is awful. You do not represent "everyone". I saw a Minecraft veteran called Ph1lza and although he may not represent "everyone", he's absolutely loving it, so I guess it's the proof that not everyone hates the new system. Also, If you actually think "just adding gamerule" would solve every problem regarding this, you and thousands of people who share the same idea seriously needs to watch this video:
and good lord stop being very melodramatic, this is a snapshot and will likely change. Acting so make you generally sound annoying which most people avoid.
Feb 3, 2019Posted in: NewsNo Customized world type
Customized world type is being temporarily removed because Mojang is rewriting the world generation code. It will come back.Phantoms are still there
That's more like a 1.13 thing.Extremely polarizing retextures
Subjective, i like the new texture more than the old one. Also, while it is subjective if the new texture is good or not. Calling them 'extremrly polarizing' is just an exaggeration. The new texture is pretty similar to the old one except for a few things.Concerningly "dangerous" monster infighting between powerful monsters and passive item-trading monsters
As long as you don't have a bad omen and come to village, you're village will be fine.Second update in years that, regardless of why, is not compatible with MCedit
Well, that's not exactly in Mojang's control.

What made Minecraft great? What made Minecraft such a good, enjoyable survival game? From my perspective, a lot of stuff made Minecraft great, one of these was the translation of real world stuff into the game, in such a clever way that you couldn't help but wanting to learn. Part of that translation was the simplification of the mechanics, thet so-called "arcadization"
Oh dear lord... What makes Minecraft great isn't an "arcadization" or "translation to real life" bullcrap. For me, what makes Minecraft great is that it's a fun game where you can do almost everything with very little limitation. None of that simplistic world translation crap because by that logic, people wouldn't play modded.
Using sugar cane to made sugar is what happens in the real life but here is much more simple, the construction, the mining, every mechanic was so well thought. And, one of the most important mechanics of the game, was the mechanic of crafting, putting stuff together to make more sutff was one of the biggest cores of the game. Yeah, it was ridiculous, if we count, we put 6 blocks in a crafting table to make a stair, and we get 3 blocks, 4 3/4s xD But the crafting recepies were part of what made the game great, everything has a design and a method, and the crafting table, that little block obtainable through just a log of a tree, was the core of everything.
Calling the crafting table a paragon of design is pretty bad imo. The system may be unique but it's not a pretty good game design if we throw away the "Minecrafty" bias. Remembering recipe pattern and material is quite tedious, some recipes are even straight up complicated enough that you need to search for recipes on the internet. That is of course until the addition of recipe book.
Everything was done on the crafting table, and that was what made Minecraft great, you dind't needed a forge, a foundry, an assembler, and howmany blocks the devs could think of, you didn't needed 30 different tools to play the game, a pickaxe, a shovel, an axe, a hoe, a sword for close combat and a bow for long combat, and everything was so rudimentary
I guess that's the reason why the community totally hates modpacks, huh? /s
Now, they put this, a stonecutter, something that can work automatically, that is obviously a higher technology than the average we've been having... I don't like it, I don't like it at all, I don't like the cartography table neither, the maps were also a thing of the crafting table.
There's a lot of mistake in this statement. First of all, what the freak is automatic from the stonecutter? You need to manually place the block and choose the type of block you want to create. Secondly, even if we're talking in terms of theme, stonemasonry (the field that uses stonecutter) is actually one of the oldest trades in human history, so don't spout the bullcrap of it being a "higher technology".
Secondly, creating and expanding maps is a pain in the butt, with the old system where it still uses crafting table, expanding a map would be a tedious grindfest. Now, they're more simpler and intuitive. And there's also an added functionality like locking the map.
Minecraft had always a huge sense of raw survival, you are thrown at a world with nothing but your bare hands, and you start literally from zero and eventually making an entire empire, learning, improving, growing, when they aded the crafting recepies I was upset, because part of what made the game great was that there was no god that were helping you, teaching you stuff, the game was designed in a certain way that oy knew exactly what to do only through the design of achievements and gameplay itself
"I believe unintuitivity and awkward game design is justifiable because it's unique!" There's a reason why being an avid gamer doesn't make someone a good game designer.
the behavior of mobs, the levels of the tools, what tools were able to break what blocks, you should learn everything with the help of the community, and that was one of the many beauties of the game
Of course, spending hours on the internet for how to get a gripe of the game instead of playing the game is fun! Apparently stupid design decision is justifiable because its unique. And no, Minecraft is not beautiful because of that, Minecraft is beautiful for the freedom it offers.
Now, with this, chances are that they will add more and more crafting blocks, what's next? We have to make our tools in a forge? We will have to use a shipyard to make boats
If it means more advanced boat variety, or the ability to create Galleons in an intuitive way, i'd be down for that.
