Endermen ? Wow, big deal. If you played during the survival test, now those were monsters. Creepers exploded upon death, spiders leaped forward, and zombies sprinted towards you ! Endermen ? Spam swords on them. Use pumpkin, or just fire three god damn arrow towards them. So what if they attack underground ? So what if they can move certain blocks ? Being three blocks tall is their biggest disadvantage, and I haven't seen 3 block tall door or mine YET !
So please, stop making endermen threads, and making 101 joke how you need new pants.

It works not because of a glitch (so it won't get patched ;P) but actually uses minecraft's very mechanics, whenever lava updates it lets out a cloud of smoke particles so i decided to hook up a redstone clock to hit it and Voila! it works creates a nice constant spray of those beautiful little flecks of smoke :biggrin.gif:
(with the water i don't know if it is needed but it makes it look more confusing :tongue.gif:)

Hi, I have only done a little bit of browsing on the forums here, but have been learning redstone since shortly before beta. I have not seen any sort of door or circuit like this one, so I figured I would post it.


It's just a standard 2x2 door with popup hidden stairs using a lever. I basically designed the stair system myself except for the delayed on, instant off portion.

I'd love to see anyone else's designs for this!

ADVANCED RETRACTABLE BRIDGE

I believe this is the first working suspended retractable bridge of its kind.
It is a bridge that spans 4 blocks, and has two spaces underneath (so you can actually walk/swim under it).

As you can see in this picture, there are 2 blocks space below the bridge (1 is used for the moat)


Shaft view
This piston shaft below the moat raises sand to the bridge's level, after which the bridge is extended,
and the sand is inserted into the other side (the sand is necessary to push the bridge back)


Control logic
This circuit raises the stack of pistons, and retracts them again in the correct order: !C !B !A B !B



Notes

- This took about 6 hours to design and build.

- This thing is pretty smooth. It somehow reminds me of the mechanical action when inserting/removing a VHS tape from the VCR (I probably just gave away my age).

- I could have just made a bridge using just the piston stack, but then it would not be a proper suspended bridge, you would not have material choice, and it'd just look plain ugly.

- It is entirely possible to make it 4 blocks wide, too. But it'll need a lot more space underground.

I have not gotten around making the buttons toggle the bridge though, it's just set on one side, reset on the other side.
Also, another improvement would be to not retract the top sand-piston until the bridge is retracting again, so the moat won't have a 2x3 pit in it.

Anyway, hope you like it.

I built an elaborate trap system involving cacti inside a triple dungeon. It was seriously epic (still is, I still use the map). I was renovating the room above the traps when a creeper appeared and blasted the floor out from under me. I fell into a chasm packed completely full of skeletons, spiders, and zombies, and was murdered mercilessly as the current carried me headlong into a cactus.

The only items the cactus destroyed?

My diamonds and my diamond items. EVERYTHING else was fine, and waiting in the collection trough when I respawned.
