(("-Even though there is no actual rule on perspective, we highly suggest you stick with third person. You will be switching characters a lot, and it would make it easier not only for you, but for the readers as well."))

Dan had only three silver coins rattling in his pockets. Three silver coins. The equivalent to 15 copper coins. It was up to him to spend them wisely in preparation for the new year.

He had begun to walk to the town from his small farm nearly an hour ago, and he had arrived in the middle of the night. It was so tranquil.

But too tranquil. No shops were open at this time of night. Daniel knew he should have left earlier. There was nothing he could really do about it. Being the only healthy person besides his young sister, he had let his family down.

The boy was 16 years old and quite muscular from the tireless hours on the farm. He towered over most children his age. His hair was smoothed back with oil and his pale blue eyes glistened in the moonlight. On his way to the well that resided in the center of town, a figure approached him. Cautiously, Danny turned around to see it was his fiance's grandfather.

"What grave news do you bare?" The boy asked before lowering a pale into the well.

"It's Rein. She has been held hostage by the plague," Daniel's eyes widened and he let go of the rope, letting the pale fall back into the well.

"Bring me to her," the boy demanded urgently. The old man showed Dan the way to Rein. It was not pretty. The young girl's face had become pale and Dan could easily see she wasn't eating. He held her hand in his own and asked her to speak.

"Danny?" the girl asked in a weak voice.

    "It is I," he answered.

The girl smiled and closed her eyes without a word. Daniel squeezed her hand in shock, demanding her to speak to him. It was no use. The girl had passed.

    ---

"Malady," a voice called to Sheia, ridding her of the slumber she had fallen into.

Sheia arose and lit a candle before attending to the door where a man stood. He was in charge of the mining data and the coins.

"What brings thee at such a time?" She asked.

"The miners have struck iron," the man proclaimed gleefully.

"That is good, but why must thou inform me at this time of night?"

The man stared at the floor, "'twas not our miners." That meant that Sheia could not obtain the iron to use for the country. It meant it belonged to whoever found it, and she knew very well that it would not be right to take it away from them. In the past, the government had stolen diamond mines from the people and it had caused rebellion. Sheia knew better.

"Then what reason doth thou possess to inform me?" The woman demanded.

"I felt it would be wise to begin with good news," the man paused as if waiting for her to say something, by Sheia waited. "There is a plague advancing in the East. Entire families are being infected." Sheia's eyes grew wide. If there were no families to attend to the crops, they would wither and the country would starve.

"This is indeed calamitous. 'tis a bad omen to start the new year with such grave news," she shook her head. "Get some rest. Thou dost not desire to be tired during the festival."

The man left with a bow and Sheia attempted to fall back asleep, but to no avail.

Don't be alarmed, but for the first couple of pages, the time is going to go by much slower until everyone makes their first posts, just to get us all situated. After that, it should be a page = a month.

    Azilla, can you answer this?

Also, apparently everyone loves cave-ins, according to IC posts.

Yes, but with restrictions, of course, such as having to reach a certain technological level first.

    Country name: (Reknemt)
Map: I am bad at drawing, so here is a description: A thick cresent shape facing south with an island in the middle. The northern shore is desert with a mountain range along the north. It is about the size of the British Isles. It is around 10 below equator and 120 east of Prime Meridian.
Language: Reknemten, sounds a lot like a far eastern language of some kind. Some people learn multiple languages.
Religion: Tyekism, based around the six great spirits of fire, water, rock, air, nature, and darkness, as well the human spirit that helps shape the world like an artist. The spiritual plane is called Tyek. This is the state religion.
History: The island was once full of tribes, called clans. The clans warred with each other to no avail or end, usually causing blood feuds and ending clans all together. Then Ryuk of the Bhrem clan, the current ruler of the clan, united the eastern clans through some diplomacy and arm twisting and used their combined might to conquer the rest of the island as they struggled. The war destroyed many clans and created the kingdom. Those that surrendered were absorbed into other clans, but those that continued to fight were enslaved. Through the rest of the years a common writing system, mathematical system, and currency were created. A system of administration was also created. Now the clans work more like guilds and there are still slaves.
Climate and natural resources: The island is mainly tropical climate, with the northern area beyond the mountains being desert. The country mainly grows rice, cocoa, and raises silk farms, guinea pigs, and elephants. The mountains in the north contain large deposits of marble, iron, silver, and some gems.
Outlying countries: None really, the closest being Mallahallam
Geography: The southern area beyond the mountain is tropical forests and is usually pretty flat. The northern deserts are also pretty flat but is devoid of life.
Leader: A young ruler, at only 18. His name is Jarul Mordiet. He is 6'5" with short cut dirty blonde hair, angular features and blue eyes. He is clean shaven. Jarul took over control of the country after his father died of illness. He has been brought up and trained to rule this country and feels a strong determination to make his people great. He also believes that education is important and has already increased spending on education. Some would also say he wants to increase the size of the kingdom.
Currency, class system, etc.: The currency is called Tuyya and are small balls of precious metal with certain markings. The market are controlled by clans, one clan is devoted to one sort of work and they work together to set prices and to train apprentices. Some clans are even devoted warriors and farmers. The Bhrem clan are the ruling clan and administer the entire country through appointed officials by the king and the clan. Education lasts from ages 7-13 for males of most clans before they go to an apprentice ship of the clan business, until 16 for clans based around education and learning and for females. There is a slave class for those that are born into slavery, and a Kmoe class for people exiled by their clan for breaking a rule of the clan or bringing unbearable shame to the clan, these are essentially the poor and work slave labor but for low wages.
Race characteristics: The people are usually slightly tan with blue eyes and dirty blonde hair. Most people are lean or muscular. Males are usually around 6 foot and females are around 5 foot. Most have slightly angular features. Though most people are kind to strangers they do not take kindly to insults to their honor or to their clan. Most people have slow burning tempers otherwise.
Other/suggestions: Upon the island in the bay are the native guinea pigs and parrots.

I really should stop accepting soon... You will be the second-to-last person I accept, my sister being the last.

    So, accepted.

Aenna woke during the middle of the night. It was storming hard, and water droplets managed to penetrate the ceiling above her and land on her face. While wiping the sleep from her eyes, the young girl of only 7 or 8 arose from her damp bed and ran to her mother in a nightgown made of rags. Her mother was awake in the kitchen with the newborn girls. She hadn't yet recovered from the twin birth just a week before.

"Mommy, my roof is leaking," Aenna informed her mother before sticking her thumb in her mouth. It was a habit she hadn't yet gotten out of. Her mother had bags under her eyes from lack of sleep and Aenna could see how she would sometimes rest her eyes, but stop herself before she fell asleep. It was not good to go without sleep for so long.

"Fetch some pots and place them underneath the roof," her mother commanded with a yawn.

    "But mommy, they're too heavy."

Aenna's mother sighed before setting the sleeping infants in a wooden crib lined with layers of sheets and quilts. There were only two rooms in the minute cottage. These were the kitchen and the bedroom the whole family shared. The kitchen was the room that the door that led to outside was. Cold stormy nights like this one irked Aenna's mother greatly because if one had to use the outhouse, they'd get soaked. And her mother did have to use it.

Aenna's mother entered the room to find her daughter's bed now soaked. Despite how weak she'd become from the birth, she moved the bed away from the leak and replaced its place with a deep pot.

"You must retire in my bed for this night," she told Aenna. The little girl, thumb still in mouth, nodded before getting into the cold bed.

"Is Daddy coming home for the new year?" The little girl inquired when she'd covered herself in the multiple blankets.

Her mother responded with, "That would be nice." The man was a craftsmen who traveled within the borders quite often. Since there were so many craftsmen where they lived, the man's merchandise didn't sell unless he traveled somewhere else. He left them with a miniscule amount of money and Aenna's mother did not work. He had not been there for the birth of the twins, and that was what infuriated her mother the most. Aenna was too young to understand what kind of danger she was in because of her mother's depression. She had no idea.

"Will you please sing me a song?" The girl asked of her mother while hugging her doll tightly. Her mother smiled slightly and sang her daughter a lullaby in her soft voice.

Sheia was twirling a feather in her hands while staring at the paintings that lined the walls. This used to be the mayor's office until she eliminated the ideas of mayors in an attempt to help unite the country-and it had worked. Now she was sitting at the city hall of Dente, missing her home in the East. Nothing really happened anymore. Sheia wanted to help the country, but it seemed as if they didn't really have any problems anymore.

    Except for poverty.

But she never knew the country to not be in poverty. That was a large problem for another time. She found that it was something she thought of most days, knowing that eventually, she'd have to do something to change it. But it seemed like she could ponder over it forever and never find the answer. Another problem was taxes. If it were up to her, there wouldn't be any, but they were so high from the king's decree that if she were to get rid of them, she feared she wouldn't be able to bring them back if it was necessary. These were the things she thought of regularly.

A knock was heard from the door, and Sheia removed her feet from the table before allowing the person to enter. A tall, muscular man with brown hair and eyes entered the room. Sheia noted he was from the East due to his tan.

"What ails you, sire?" She inquired with concern.

His deep voice answered after a bow. Sheia still hadn't gotten quite used to the bowing. She wasn't queen, so she didn't think it was necessary.

"My uncle has fallen very ill, ma'am. 'm afraid there remains scarce time left for him."

Sheia leaned on the wooden desk, "What is your purpose for informing me?" Something told her there was something more.

"Methinks he not alone," the man answered.

"Where comes you?" Sheia demanded with a new sense of urgency.

"Femtie. Please ma'am. 'm worried a plague is brewing." Femtie was a relatively large fishing village. They traded on the East-West road very often. If there was a plague there, it meant there was a plague in many other places as well. Sheia leaned back on her chair with a worried sigh. They had not been trading with plagued countries to her knowledge. If there was a plague, everyone would catch it and the doctors would fall ill before they had a chance to discover a cure.

"Fetch me my assistant, please," she ordered firmly. With another bow, the man left. The next time the door opened, it was her elderly adviser that came.

"Please take a seat, sir, it would be unwise in your age to remain standing for too long," she said.

The adviser nodded his head in gratitude before plopping himself down into one of the two wooden chairs on the opposite side of Sheia's desk.

"The young man claims to foresee a plague brewing in the East. What suggest you?"

"Ah, this would prove to be quite fatal if the man's inference is of any validity," the elder paused before continuing to explain at a slow pace, "You must already be aware of the consequences, I assume. Banning trade within our borders would accomplish naught, and informing our people would create chaos. However, information is impossible to contain for long. My suggestion is that we protect those that are of importance, and get doctors to immediately start on a cure. The people will discover the plague eventually, so let them. For now, we will be ahead of the disorder."

Sheia nodded before shooing her adviser away. She would have every doctor working on the cure for the man's illness before it's too late. She would not let her country fall into ruins. She would not.

in the end, I dont care about tech level; even if we are in the future. Mallahallam has always used medieval tactics. My main problem is the subtle things I.e. plumbing

Again, adentra is a mountain nation north of me...

He said if possible, but it isn't possible because if you were to be south of Adenta, it would interfere with your climate.

why am i pink.... also again, i say that 1500 conflicts with my history (minor tweaking? no, id have to make a whole 'nother app! because it would be Merisda, and not Mallahallam, because neither democracy nor communism has technically been thought of.)

also terminator said that his country was in the mountain(s) north of me

It's magenta for Mallahallam. Later, I'm going to change the colors to be ROYGBIV, but this is what they are for now. But, like I said, this world is not supposed to progress at the same pace as Earth at all. So communism could have been thought of in this world before Earth had thought of it. And the year is only supposed to tell us our level of technology. We could still be in the year 1900, but be in the middle ages, if that makes sense.

    Country name: Delvonica
    Map: Ehhhhh.....
    Language: Greek
Religion: Delinaria (Polytheism) Dena, Fril, Vaoma, and Per are the primary deities, and their roles vary from person to person.
History: Quite simple really. A group on a pilgrimage needed a place to shelter from a storm that was hitting the seas. They stumbled on what was to become Delvonica, a lush tropical island. After only a few weeks of quarrying stone to build homes, the group stumbled upon large Cobalt deposits. They used the blue metal to create goods they traded with outlying countries. Soon, there was so much that they began small iron coins with cobalt centers as their currency. As the inhabitants dug deep, they discovered Lapis Lazuli deposits. This is how the country of Delvonica, a textiles and jewelry producer, came to be.
Climate and natural resources: It is a tropical climate. Due to the large amount of copper that was on the island long before the settling of it, animals all have a strange hint of blue in their blood. Normal tropical animals and plants are present.
    Outlying countries: Mallahallam (That ok?)
Geography: The edges of the island are the populated parts. The further you go in, all there is is jungle. The island is relatively flat, save for one dormant volcano that lies in the center, Mt. Deus. The island is half the size of Iceland.
Leader: King Delkus. A tall, confident man. Economically wise, and always looking towards the future...and the biggest profit.
Currency, class system, etc.: Currency is Cobon. 1 Cobon equals .02 USD. The class system is somewhat vague, as a lot of folks are middle-class. The few that are Low-class, have decided not to take one of the jobs that are abundant, and be lazy. The High-class are the owners of the few businesses on the island. The population isn't very large.
Race characteristics: Men are 5' 7" on average, women 5' 4". They have tan skin, and a lot of the time have freckles. Like the animals, their blood has a tint of blue.
    Other/suggestions: None

I'll accept you if you read the rules.

    And I come with gifts!

The colors are for my sake. For example, Adenta is amber because it starts with an a. It helped me remember what I did and didn't do. I'm going to add more land tomorrow. For now, goodnight!

well its more of a logic error, my history conflicts with the time span. The country wouldnt exist.

I believe that could be fixed with some minor tweaking. BTW, roads have been invented. Or paths, really.

I made a map, yes? Could you use the basic outline and place it in the map for me?

Yeah. Yours was not an island, though. Unless I'm mistaken. But I'd like to know what the shape of the larger land mass is and where it is.
