    Hey guys, I'm gonna go back here, then disappear, but, since exams are starting in my school, are there any interesting RFW maps that I should try out?

    @asthetics stuff:
    If your map is ugly, I might not play it, or I might. It depends how good the gameplay is.
    The opposite is true with gameplay.

    One can compensate for the other, but if any is truly lacking, then I'm just not playing your map. Priorities don't matter, because 0 * X = 0

    Community question(s):

    1. What is your loot system?

    2. What made you choose to have the loot system you have currently (and for those of you that use Sketch's loot system, why did you want to use it)?

    So here's my answer:

    1. With the loot in my map, mobs drop most of it because it's a monster hunter map. You can then trade it with villagers to make it better or use it to make armor weapons and tools become better versions of themselves. Certain items you can trade multiple times, and every time you trade them they become better and a word is added to the start of their name (similar to Terraria). For example, if you trade an Iron Battleaxe once it'll become an "Enhanced Iron Battleaxe", and if you trade the Enhanced Iron Battleaxe you'll get a "Supreme Iron Battleaxe". And just to be clear, you need to trade a weapon/armor piece/tool with some other loot (or just another weapon/armor piece/tool) to upgrade it.

    2. I don't really remember. I'm pretty sure my loot system was just inspired by all the RPG style games' loot.

    it's pretty complex, so here goes:

    item exists. [1 or 0]

    We should make some sort of song for this, that we can play everytime we do this...

    COMMUNITY QUESTION

    How do you go about adding spawners? So how many, where, and what types? And do you count, or just random, or another way?

    sponge. I place sponge where I want spawners. Then I make spawners, test the spawners, and forget where I put the sponge, and put the spawners in random places.

    Thanks for running through the map! You did pretty much everything I didn't intend the player to do, but the video was very entertaining. The map was meant to be played at a slower pace, and I don't think you saw the sign that said you have to get most of your stuff from mob drops. I'm looking forward to seeing some videos of the other maps.

    yeah...definitely sleep. I'm typically pretty good at reading things. (though I still get some impatience)

    Moldybread, here's my run of your map. I was REALLY tired while playing it, as verified by my trillions of deaths while running through my map, even though I only died three times while testing it. So it might not be your fault. Anyway, here ya go:

    I like this. As a non-mapmaker-for-this-jam, I think you should have all the mapmakers nominate their maps for different categories, and they can only nominate their map for up to X categories, where X is maybe 1/2 to 1/4 of the categories? Perhaps everyone should automatically be nominated for "best map", though, unless they specifically opt out.

    I didn't bring up "best map" because that seems like something that everyone would apply for, so that problem would pop up again.

    How does this look so far? It's not an area, it's the place with the Monument.

    I'm a mind reader, so I predict that the first thing someone will say is...
    Make it bigger.

    Make it bigger.
    BUt also, it doesn't seem to highlight the monument-it's kind of tucked into the corner. This is the monument room, MAKE THE MONUMENT THE FOCAL POINT.

    That should be the first thing I notice when I come into this area, and I actually had to read that it was the monument area until I saw that obsidian thing.

    So I wanted to know what you guys think. I was going to make my map 5 Intersections, but now because the style of the areas(and it is my first map) I think i'm going to make it 4 intersections. I like 5 Intersections better because you can do 1 wool per dungeon and I feel it's easier to balance. What do you guys think? I believe this should be a community question so,

    Community Question: In linear branching maps, How many intersections do you like? This goes for making them and conquering them to.

    I'm going 4, but I'm just lazy. Also, I kind of hate it when maps just DON'T END.

    So I've kinda been hesitating to put a poll up for the final voting, mostly because of the insane amount of maps that were created. We almost doubled the number of entries from last Jam, and I'm guessing most of you probably haven't played many more than ten of them. If you have, congrats and I admire your dedication.

    It's not just a matter of the number of entries being a pain to input into whatever polling medium I choose, it's more about wanting to fully represent each entry, as opposed to having a list and the maps by the more big-name mapmakers get voted up more than others, because those are the ones most people played.

    I really am not sure what to do about this. Do you guys think it's even worth doing a poll for the entries, or should we just leave it and keep the whole event under the "for fun" category?

    Leave the poll up for a long time. That being said, maybe if we have people only elect their maps for certain categories, things might be a bit easier? So instead of having best map, there is maybe 'best gameplay' 'best asthetics' and as a mapmaker, I can only choose one category? That way, people might only have to play, say, half of the maps.
