posted a message on Randomly can't log in, then randomly get invalid session after logging in.

Anyone? I've contacted support (with my transaction ID, since someone is going to ask eventually). But given that's a 3 months wait according to their site...

I can still play at least, just...never know in a given session if it's going to work or not.

posted a message on Randomly can't log in, then randomly get invalid session after logging in.

Seen a few threads on this, adding my own so maybe it gets attention.

(Does Mojang even bother reading these forums?).

Every time I open the launcher, I have to re-login. It might keep me logged in for one or two sessions, but then I'll have to log in again.

About 80% of the time, it will then tell me "Invalid email or password" when trying to log in to either of my accounts (Have a main and a spectator account). If that happens, I will be unable to log in to mojang.com or minecraft for a few minutes, no matter how many attempts. And then...it will work.

It's not an incorrect password, the browser has it saved, and I know I'm not mis-typing it. (35year old web developer here with years of desktop troubleshooting under my belt, so I know it's common for someone to say they are not when they are, but...I'm not).

Once logged in, I have about a 50/50 shot of getting onto a server, "Invalid session". Close game and launcher, and have to log in again....

I've changed my password at Mojang.com, I'm using the official launcher, however MultiMinecraft launcher is also installed so I could run litematica for a build. I've fully uninstalled (including manually deleting the leftover files in local/roaming/.minecraft after backing up my local worlds). Same issues.

I thought maybe it was something with my network, but also was not able to log in to mojang.com on my phone using cellular data a couple times. (then it worked after a couple minutes).

I've pretty much run out of ideas at this point, network traffic seems good... but this issue has lasted over a week now. I've been playing since alpha and usually login issues are isolated events, not week long ones. Anyone have any other ideas?

hijackthis log because someone will ask for it:

posted a message on login issues

Forgot to add, half the time, once I finally log into the launcher, Minecraft will still give me an Invalid Session when trying to connect to a server.

I've had this account 10 years and never had an issue like this, pretty annoying

posted a message on login issues

I have this issue, only with my two accounts. (My accounts, have main and camera accounts)

Pretty much every time I exit the game, I will be logged out of the launcher, and it will take many attempts to log back in, using the same credentials.

I also will be unable to log in at mojang.com during that time using the browser saved credentials. Then, randomly...it will work again. Might be a minute later, might be 30 minutes later. When it fails, none of my accounts work, but when it works, they all work.

I changed my password just in case it was some weird issue with that, but the issue persists. One difference, when I can't log in, I also will be unable to log in from my phone, using the cell signal (Not wifi, in case it was an IP issue).

I tried contacting Mojang support, but no response. They probably filed it under "User mis-entered password", but again...using a saved login from my browser for mojang.com with the same issue.

posted a message on Scoreboard for Player Snowball Hits

I admin a vanilla server, but from time to time we do challenge games. (For example we did Phantom Kills contest for the month of October, ala Hermitcraft)

For December I'd like to do a snowball fight, where the scoreboard would track PVP snowball hits. If you hit a player with a snowball, you get a point, and the scoreboard reflects this. No teams, no resets, just "if you hit a player with a snowball, you get a point".

I'm a bit lost on how to go about this though, so any help appreciated!

posted a message on Basic Useful Redstone Creations

First builds all involve hoppers, but are always:

1: Auto Chicken farm. Start with chickens on a hopper to collect eggs while getting other materials, but then hook it up to a dispenser and auto cooker. Easy food right off the bat.

2: Auto Smelter. (Again hoppers) Start simple, but working up to an 8 furnace array is a life saver.

3: mob farms, either using spawners or dark rooms.

4: nano-farms are handy. (But chew through bonemeal)

5: tree farms! Much more complex, but sooooo handy!

posted a message on Overviewer - Formatting sign text

I used to have a sign filter that would render the sign text as a marker.

It worked perfectly, until Minecraft changed the entity data.

Now my signs look like this " {"text\":\"Redstone\"}" rather than just "Redstone"

Does anyone know how to strip out the extra data to make the popup simple display the sign text?

posted a message on Dpad movement stuck

My controller only has a d pad, rather that a stick

The problem is when I move, my character won't stop unless I open the inventory or some other button.

No other game has this issue, so I don't think it's a problem with the controller. Anyone else have a similar issue or know a way to fix it?

    Thanks!

posted a message on Kill Ender Dragon, re-generate End?

So this was something that occured to me.

When we kill the end dragon, we get the ability to travel to the other end islands, 1000 blocks away, and loot the very rare Elytra.

But we know we can kill the End Dragon multiple times now, as much as needed. But why? The XP for it is greatly reduced, other than getting dragons breath bottled up, what's the point?

What if it caused all the other end islands to re-generate as well? Allowing us to loot new dungeons that were not there the first time? And allowing us the ability to get fresh Elytra, rather than venturing further and further into the end to get new ones as the old ones break?

posted a message on [BUG (Now Resolved (?) )] Elytra can Become too Expensive to Repair

Hmm, I read that tweet as renaming items won't increase future repair cost (As in, right now if I rename my armor, I lose a full repair before too expensive, because it adds a level).

posted a message on DISCUSS: SSP and SMP, the problem of rarity in both.

I do, and for SSP I agree. The rarity is excellent.

In SMP however, it creates problems. The game, at it's core, is about creation. Limiting core items (sponges, wings) to such an extent that only 1 out of every hundred people have them subtracts from the game, rather than adds.

Take for example the MMO example, rare items are still ultimately obtainable by everyone. It's a goal to work towards. In Minecraft, there is no such option for things like sponges, now wings. It's a finite resource that becomes available only to a few.

in SSP, it's a finite resource that you use wisely, but you will be able to get it.

in SMP, it's a finite resource that you will never get the opportunity to use in most cases.

I'm hoping that as a community, we can find a solution that both keeps the rarity of these items, while allowing everyone an equal chance of getting to use it in the SMP environment.

I have a couple thoughts as to what that could look like, but thought it might be good to get some others feedback before posting them.

posted a message on DISCUSS: SSP and SMP, the problem of rarity in both.

With the addition of the Elytra, the list of items in game that are awesome in SSP, but so rare as to not even exist in SMP has grown.

On a vanilla server, I have never seen a sponge. Why? Because they are so rare as to not even exist. In single player, they are quite useful, and I can collect enough to make them useful. In SMP? Never seen one, never got one.

The same issue will arise with the Elytra. End ships are incredibly rare. On SMP servers with more than 4-5 players, they may as well not even exist. But again, in Single player the rarity is about right.

Most servers fix this by adding mods to the game, shops, etc. I don't view this as an acceptable solution, only one that highlights a problem with the game itself. So, how do we solve the rarity problem for vanilla SMP, where these items are indeed rare and difficult to come by, but still obtainable?

Got to play with this, and have to say this was probably one of my favorite updates thus far! Great work! Love haing all the redstone stuff finished now. :) Also really like the UI updates and that magma cream was a surprise! Looks awesome.

I do have one thought / question...

A "Multiplayer - Stock Texture Compatibility" pack.

Would there be a possible update / optional pack to change the current glowstone texture and use a more rock like texture for the glowstone? And similarly, an optional update for stained glass. The reason I ask is while I love using your textures, when I play online I know other people are not using them, and it means that sometimes I make really wonky looking things, basing them off the textures in the pack, and then switch to default and go "Wow, that looks weird". Stained glass and glowstone tend to be the biggest culprits of this for me. Sorta just looking for a "best of both worlds" patch I guess. LOL

Thanks man! really appreciate the work you've put into this, it really has become my "stock" minecraft texture :)
