Go to your .minecraft folder (in start menu type '%appdata%' and its in your roaming folder) Open it and at the top is a folder cleaverly named 'configs'. Open it and delete everything that says 'dynamiclights...somethingsomething' there will be 6 or so files.
EDIT: just remembered you on a MAC!! Sorry man, I know nothing about macs, so you'll need to find your .minecraft folder and do what i said.
Did it, it works for almost everything. However, dropped things in water don't seem to work. I even went to the config file to see if for some reason it was false, but it's true…

Thanks! Just so you know - Anyone with mods know how to get to their minecraft folder on a mac.
I'm sorry if this question has already been asked, I really don't feel like scrolling through (at time of posting) 157 pages of comments for the answer.
Question -
I put the .jar file ONLY into my mods folder in minecraft, the one where all my other mods (that work) go, following the readme instructions. On the main minecraft load-page (after choosing profiles and everything) if I go to mods, forge says that I have all the mods that come with this (it's a couple for some reason). I open up a world, and make sure that I've pressed L to turn dynamic lights globally on (it says so in chat as well).
However, for some reason, dynamic lights doesn't work. Help?
Software - Mac 10.8.5
Minecraft Version - 1.7.2
FML - v7.2.211.1121
Minecraft Forge - 10.12.2.1121
Optifine- 1.7.2_HD_D1
1.7.2 Biomes O' Plenty, 1.7.2 Animation mod (makes player's motions better), Bibliocraft 1.7.2, Carpenters Blocks 1.7.2, Voxelmap 1.7.2

I'm a noob at this kind of stuff. Where would it be?
(I also only have (not including this) 8 more posts as I just made my account, so I might not be able to reply. Thanks for your help)
