    Alright, everyone. Here are my plans as a Kell developer for this project. Some have alternate ways of being done, so I put all of my ideas:


    Gameplay


    - The mod will work best with a fresh world, but you can flick a button in-game to enable DestinyCraft in premade worlds if you desire (though you won't get the same gameplay!).


    - After the world is created, a GUI appears to select your class. Subclasses will be selected via the inventory (Destiny's "Get your Guardian past level 15 to unlock their other subclass!" effect is unique, so Striker, Gunslinger, and Voidwalker will be the only choice at the beginning) via an armour-like slot on your character.


    - You spawn in with the default armour and a Khvostov 7G-02 Auto Rifle.


    - The GUI will look similar to Destiny's, with the weapons and ammo count in the corner, Super bar above the active weapon, and a radar.


    - Engrams dropped from enemies can be decrypted by a Cryptarch Villager who, as you guessed, spawns in a village.


    - Weapons, armour, and equipment will have light, as they currently do now. We will use the "Under Level 40" weights supplied by this Reddit post, as they seem to be the most accurate.


    Spawning


    - The Taken (if implemented) will be sprinkled around in each area in small packs of 1 to 3, all of the same race (so a Vandal and two Dregs, but not a Thrall and Goblin).


    - Each of the five races (Fallen/Hive/Vex/Cabal/Taken) will spawn in certain biomes just like other mobs. Fallen could be in forests, Hive in caves and dense wooded areas, Cabal in the desert, and Vex in high mountains. OR Regular Minecraft with mobs, and a chat message saying "The {race} have invaded this world!" and spawns a few groups around. Maybe even with a dropship animation, who knows? OR (Unlikely, but like I said, just an idea) Make a (probably mandatory) dependency with Galacticraft and have the races spawn only on their respective planet(s). So Hive on Earth/Moon, Fallen on Earth/Moon/Venus, Vex on Venus/Mars, and Cabal on Mars.


    Loot


    - Destiny mobs will randomly drop engrams (the shape is called a decohedron, for the curious :P) and items (the triangles that contain things like Ether Seeds or Silken Codices), with engrams maybe being a 5% drop rate. Drop rate for the rarities will be planned out soon.


    Much more to come to this post! I just typed this in the half hour I was randomly awake, so I'm going back to sleep until I can update this weekend. Also, this is just a list of ideas for what I want to bring to DestinyCraft. Remember that I'm not the original mod creator, and Arcade_Fever has every right to deny/change any of my ideas at any time. :)

    Why you are applying: The other guy's Destiny mod was clearly not making much progress, even turning down help from other people. I can help with coding and such. I am also a developer for a Sword Art Online mod that's currently in development hell (since half of the devs went MIA). I've been programming in Java for over 7 years and creating/working on Minecraft mods and Bukkit plugins for two years.

    What's funny is that a few months ago (July 5th to be exact), I offered to help with the mod in any way I could in a PM. Their response:

    So this leads me to believe that they haven't really done much on the coding part. I'm not saying that this guy is a fake, it's just that taking this entire mod by himself is a bit much. I would at least have one other person to do some backend coding (using dummy mobs/weapons) for spawning, terrain generation, the works. So to everyone complaining that it's not out yet, don't expect this mod to be out anytime soon.

    You hold the NerveGear in your hand, hold down Shift, and right-click. Then, drag the SAO Game into the rough centre of the GUI (an inventory image is coming IIRC). Equip the NerveGear as a helmet and right-click on a bed. You'll then be teleported to Aincrad.

    Well, everyone, I'm really sorry that I have to say this, but I'm afraid I have to step down as a developer from MCSAO for a while. This does not mean I'm completely gone. I'm just taking a little leave. I was offered a very high-paying job to play a part in developing a medium-ish game. Because of this, I will require as much time as possible, and so I'm leaving. I expect to come back around Christmastime, but you never know. I'll still play a part in the community, and try my best to find time for MCSAO. For the time being, I wish bfox and Drad the best of luck working on the mod in my absence, and for the graphic designers to make the best designs they can. For now, I must bid you all adieu. I'll give status updates about me relative to the mod soon. Laters!

    As for the latest dev news...
    Apparently, Java 8 build 20 crashes Forge. For now, stay on Java 7 and/or Java 8 build <20. The Forge team is working on a fix. I'll post here when there is.

    Hey everyone! Community opinion time! For the overlay, which health bar do you want to see on the overlay? Here are the two choices:

    • SAO Health Bar - The health and experience bars will be removed from the hotbar and replaced with this. Hunger and armour will remain on the hotbar.
    • ALO Health Bar - Both health and hunger will be reflected on this health bar. Armour and experience will be on the hotbar.
    IRC

    Also, one of my friends was kind enough to set up an IRC chatroom for discussion on the mod! Click here for the webchat, or open the spoiler below for instructions on how to open it in your IRC client.

    1. Download and install an IRC client (HexChat is preferred and will be used as the focus for the majority of this tutorial).
    2. Open your client and click File > Network List ("HexChat > Network List..." on HexChat).
    3. Click "Add" on the right of the new window and enter a name for the server, like "matrixIRC".
    4. Single-click the new server and click "Edit..."
    5. On the "Servers" tab, click "Add" and type: "irc.boltirc.net" and hit Enter.
    6. Focus to the "Autojoin channels" tab, and click "Add" again. This time, type: "#mcsao" and hit Enter.
    7. Click Close, and then click Connect in the previous Network List menu.
    8. You will now be connected to the MCSAO official IRC chatroom.

    Note: Only users who are opped (with an @ sign prefixing their name in webchat, or with a green circle on most IRC clients) or voiced (with a + sign prefixing their name in webchat, or with a blue circle on most IRC clients) in #mcsao are official team members. Anyone else that claims they are a part of MCSAO are lying, and should not be taken seriously.
