posted a message on BlockLauncher: an Android app that patches Minecraft PE without reinstall
BlockLauncher: a custom Minecraft PE launcher for Android

    formerly known as MCPELauncher.

BlockLauncher is a custom Minecraft PE launcher that wraps around Minecraft PE and provides loading of patches, and (in the Pro version) texture packs, and server IPs.

Just choose Options on the main screen, then select mods. It is that easy!

This program loads libminecraftpe.so from the currently installed copy of Minecraft PE, so it should be compatible with the mod patching features of PocketTool and QuickPatch.

    Known issues:
    - Jelly Bean users cannot use original textures - they will get the standard demo texture pack
    - You can't use the hidden Camera item

    Download free: http://zhuowei.github.com/MCPELauncher/MCPELauncherApp-release-beta.apk

    Get addons: My addons

For testing, please use an official unmodded copy of Minecraft PE.

Any ideas on how I can make this better than the official launcher?

posted a message on level.dat no longer an NBT file?
This NBT variant has been used since MCPE 0.2 (released three years ago), so it's definitely not new. iOS uses the same format.
PocketInvEditor uses SpoutNBT to read/write these NBT files; https://github.com/TkTech/PyNBT can also read them.
    See http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Pocket_Edition_Level_Format for more information.

posted a message on WorldToPE: a tool to convert Desktop Edition worlds for MCPE
WorldToPE is a tool to convert Minecraft Desktop Edition's worlds for Minecraft Pocket Edition.

    Features:

    - Convert worlds from Minecraft PC 1.2 and above to worlds compatiable with MCPE 0.9.0 and above.
    - All blocks that exist in both PC and PE are converted directly - any blocks that do not exist in PE are turned into wools
    - Horizontal size of the convertion area is not limited - any chunks that were generated in PC will be converted.

Currently not supported - possible future additions
    - Mobs and other entities are not transferred.
    - Inventories of chests and furnaces are not transferred.
    - Signs are not transferred.
    - only the lower 128 blocks of a world is converted, because MCPE's world height is lower than MCPC's.

posted a message on If I were to make a new modding API for Android (and maybe iOS), what is most important?
Quote from kivifreak »Well don't get me wrong, i think the idea is nice: Problem it already exists. ModPE script has originally been created by treebl for ioS and the scripting language (which is javascript) has been ported to Android by 500ISE. Now treebl stopped supporting the modpe scripts. So the reasonable thing to do would be to port modpe script back to iOS which sounds like much work, but it really isn't :3

    So... basically an extended PTPatch?
