I was already boycotting Nintendo for a different reason, but this just pushes me off the edge. It's not breaking copyright if it's not the same game and not the same name.

    wrong.

alright, doesn't seem like this error has come up over the last few pages. so I've playd Minecraft 1.11.2 with Magic not too long ago, no prob. but today I try to open Magic and I get a little pop up window that says "This application requires a Java Runtime Environment 1.5.0". I have Java 1.8.something, why would it start acting up like this? minecrafts normal launcher still launches fine, and so does the game.

a 14 player max is pretty small, smaller than crafthub was. I guess I see your point with all the mods, I looked at the servers thread and saw the long list. I spos I'll give it a try today anyways, and may play in this server, but I think I'll also keep looking for something alittle bigger and closer to what I'm after. here's hoping we both get that Minecraft exp we're after :P

posted a message on searching for a server of my style.

as far as server size goes I'm not looking for something ridiculously huge like 300+ players online 24/7 and like a total of 1000 players or something. a new server is fine, I'm sure it will grow. but you say you wanna keep it small? I'm sure consistently active is on the wish list, it would be nice to be able to log on at any time and be able to expect to see atleast 20 other people online. it takes time to grow and stuff, but if it seems like the server is well made/run and doing well at bringing new players in, then I'm sure it can be plenty big. my idea of big being like, logging in to find 50+ other people online most of the time.

the reason I'm hoping for grief and pvp to be allowed may seem odd. I honestly don't like pvp, or grief. but if there isn't any, then what's the point in say, living in a town? or making a town? what's to say anyone would bother to live there? if towns provide a form of protection that one can't give ones self when living alone out in the wilderness, then there's some incentive to join a town and work together with other players. I like being a loner at times, even in multiplayer games. but I've played enough single player and am kinda tired of it. I've been worn out on social Minecraft too seeing as I've run (what on that server, was considered to be) 2 big cities. but that was some time ago. I don't feel like taking a leadership role right now, but I want to find a good server that would fit my tastes and make things interesting, with good players who I'll actually want to interact with.

I'll check it out and see what I think. (not tonight, about to go to bed). and if it seems like a Server I could enjoy then of course I'll stick around and even try and help draw in new players too. and also, thanks for the replies guys.

posted a message on searching for a server of my style.

so, it's been a while since I've been really into Minecraft. part of why I was so into it for so long before, was because of a great little server I played on known as "Crafthub". I still like it, would recommend it, but it's not what it use to be. I joined that server from my 1st day in Minecraft all the way back in version 1.2.5, and built a "Sky City" that had over 50 players living in it by the time the server had to reset the map for new version content. I later made a faction when they got rid of the "residence" plugin, and that went horribly suffice it to say, I'm not a fan of factions as a form of protection for towns and such. I later built Sky City 2, and again managed to achieve around 50 members. but the server eventually reset the map again. I haven't run a town since, and the server hasn't been the same for a long time either. so I'm looking for a new one!

sorry for the long intro, but here's what I'm looking for:

    • I would like to find a server that is modded survival. nothing crazy as far as mods, like adding 500 new weapons and armors or something like that.
    • something medieval or fantasy based would be awesome.
    • I'd like it if the server allows grief and pvp, but has some kind of good plugin for town protections like Residence.
    • a simple but thriving and balanced economy would be awesome.
    • some element of adventure or light role-play would be nice. nothing where everyone HAS to speak like we're "ye old Englishmen".
    • some big and interesting (pre built maybe?) towns and locations, some to explore and discover even, would be cool. (even if all the interesting place have been found already)
    • cool and interesting player built towns and such would be cool too.
    • a nice and friendly community, with some healthy rivalry's and fighting would be cool too.
    • either a dynamic and cool generated world or the option for say, sky lands and ocean worlds would be cool.
    • some mods that add say interesting NPCs, SOME new creatures, and stuff like that would be nice. just nothing too crazy.

I realize it might be impossible to find a server that fits all these specifications, but if by chance someone around her happens to know of one that would be wonderful! and thanks for the time you've taken to read all this and any help you can give.

^ did you try to double click or open the optifine jar file? it's not something you run by itself. check the installation instructions on the first page if that's what you were trying to do. if not, maybe give more info about what you did exactly?

the problem I'm having is probably forge compatibility since it posts above say that's yet to be worked out, but I'm getting 2 errors for optifine HD U D1, while using it with Forge 1309 for 1.8.

posted a message on Which type of players do you hate the most?
I'll admit I'm not a pretty builder. I'm an imaginative and creative guy, but my sense of aesthetics suks. I can build practical things, I can build things that server a purpose or with a purpose in mind. I like playing survival, I think I make good survival bases. but they're usually not sure big and pretty. they serve their purpose. so how am I creative and imaginative you ask? I built 2 sky cities on a server. tho the server allows pvp and greif, but towns get protection. so in a rush to get my city just big enough to get 4 other players in it to get protection, I made the start of it out of cobble. it got greifed a bit a time or before I got players to meet town/city requirements, but as soon as it was protected I planned to work on replacing the cobble with something nicer. maybe smooth stone or stone slabs. but then everybody wanted to join and I had to build big fast to make space for everyone. it became a cobble box in the sky.

the second time tho, I gathers 3-4 friends from the first city who where good builders, we took time and gatherd materials, made a base WAAAAAAAAY out from spawn, had a plan worked out on a private server I ran off my laptop for us, and we took our time building it for a while. it turned out FAR better. they built houses tho, I suk at that.

the comment "whine for getting sniped out of nowhere" and then "shouldn't play the game" are what get me here. I would be mad if I got snipped out of no where. 85% of the time I downright HATE PVP. I play games that have it, but I don't play those games simply because they have it. I play games that I think to be great games and enjoy, and some of those games also have that option for those who enjoy it. we all play games we enjoy. we play them to enjoy them, it's entertainment.

but what is NOT entertaining, is when you're playing around, maybe exploring/adventureing, building, mineing, fighting monsters even. then a player snipes you out of no where! why did I just get sniped? what did I do to them? nothing. they just did it cause they think it's fun, because they enjoy it. no bad on them there I suppose, but what about me? am I enjoying this? no! but the game it'self is enjoyable. I like playing the game. I don't like it when other players snipe and pvp me out of nowhere. does that mean I should not play the game? no it doesn't. it just means I don't play the game YOUR way. and I intend to stay that way. I'd like to enjoy the game playing it my way, which does not include getting sniped. I wouldn't do it to you, so don't do it to me. you can have your fun that way, just leave me out of it. go find another pvper and snipe them. they'll probs get mad to, but if they're going to play the game pvping, they can't honestly complain about getting attacked.

someone should make a server plugin where player when they log into a server, get to choose how they want to play. they can select pvp among other options, and if they do they will get a tag with their nae that would say "pvp" this will allow other players to pvp them, and for them to pvp others. players that log in and DON'T choose the pvp tag, won't get it and can't pvp others or be pvpd. that would be an awesome plugin. everyone gets to play the way they wanna play, and can enjoy the game the way they want to.

    Quote from dude22072

    Update to Version 3.0.0 (LOZmod3!)

    *Update to 1.7.2
    *German Translation!
    *Bombs no longer Boom! :'(
    *Bows temporarily removed
    *achievements are broken~
*Damaged Magic Powder Bags don't seem to work in crafting.
    *armour no longer has effects
    *healing stone broken

so this update is a pre-release? cuz a broken update sounds like half an update. don't get me wrong, I'm at static that you're working on the mod again, and it has been a while since the last big update, so we've been antsy for one. but if we know it is being worked on, we can wait long enough for a working update. so, glad you're working on it, but take the time you need to make sure it's all in working order. just let us know how progress is going now and then.

    Quote from WarButter

Im a Mod Dev. and I am currently working with some awesome people who help me with skins and models :Notch: . They use this neat little program.
Is there a way to add custom models to the editor to allow easier skinning of custom models? :iapprove:

For moddeling I use Techne. Which can export to a couple of formats, (Techne .tcn, Java Code .java, Texturemap .png, etc.)

I'd just come to ask about the exact same thing. Techne doesn't export models in an XML format, which I see the model files for your program are. but when I opened it, it opened in my internet browser and in it looked like a CSS style code format. it also said "Techne" so I believe you used techne to make these models. but if so then how did you make them an XML format? is there any way your program could read a techne or java format?
