Feed the Conundrum is a Feed The Beast Minecraft server! It will use as a base the Direwolf20 modpack.
A while ago I posted a thread on Reddit about and idea for a server that I had. It seemed to be well received, and after a long delay, here it is! This is just an informational post and whitelist post, and the server is NOT currently up. How the whitelist process will work is that after a week, me and the other “Admins” for the server will go thru all the whitelists and “accept” almost everyone (It will be VERY rare that we do not whitelist someone). After that is done, we will randomly select x number of people, where X is dependant on how many people whitelisted. I’ll explain about his below.
So, you might be wondering, what is this amazing idea that I have. Well here it is! My idea is that we start a community together on this server. What I mean that, other than a few VERY basic rules (I’ll detail them below), the rules are decided by the players in game. We will start a first town and go from there. After a while, I’ll re-open the whitelist for other people to join in our society that we have crafted. Another thing is, that each week, all the players will meet up and do a challenge. Sort of like a reality game show (Like Big Brother or something). Me and the other 2 admins (Borntorule and Zamster101) will decide on a challenge for the week. Please note, that we are admins only in name and we have little to no power over everyone else. Only difference between us and the regular player is that we are OP and that we decide the challenges The challenges will be relatively simple (Name the town, set up roads, set up energy station, etc). Another twist is that we will divide the teams up into 3 groups named Alpha, Beta and Charlie.
If you are lost, let me explain how the first week will happen, including all the challenges. Please note, that the first week will not be a “week” it will probably be a few hours at most.
At a set hour, we will turn on the server and everybody will join. Near spawn will be a few chests that me and the other admins have prepared. In the chests will be a set of items that will help each of the groups. We will then decide on two things as a group. The first will be how we will split up the groups (random or something else). And the 2nd one will be if groups are permanent or not. After that, we will split up the groups using whatever method we chose. Each group has a special task. Group Alpha will be surveyors who they’re jobs are to find an area to make the town and start making it (Roads, plots, etc) Group B will be miners, who has the job of going mining and starting to collect resources. They will also discuss how the government will run in our town. Group C will be farmers which will start gathering any and all natural above grand materials. They will discuss laws and the punishments for them. That is it. Week one.
One thing to note, we have a mumble server so please download that if you plan on joining us.

However, over the months I've realized one thing; while an experienced minecraft player, I couldn't run a server. No matter what I tried, I couldn't keep up. However, I never let go the dream of having a fun vanilla experience with others. Unlike the Mindcrack server,we have 3 admins : Me, Zamster101, Shadow88326.Yes, each of us are operators on the server, but we will NEVER spawn ANYTHING for ANYONE including ourselves and our friends. If you are reading this message, please say in the application that you are feeling horrible. We are 100% vanilla, but we are being hosted by Beastnode.com, so we can do some automatic restarts and backups. We also have a mumble server! Once you join, we will give you the information. We are going to be running the snapshot from the week before. ex.: If 12w41a just came out, we will be using 12w40b

I have started building a simple mod will shoot you up in the air.
It is still a few days before it comes out (eclipse on my computer is messed up)
and if Notch decides to update to 1.8 on Friday, it will be even longer.

I hate to break this to you, but there's already tons of mods that do this. Also, Notch WON'T release 1.8 anytime soon, September at it's latest, End of the summer at it's earliest.

Dungeons aren't fully mossy cobblestone for floors, a good portion of it is, but not 100% of it.
