posted a message on New Ore Suggestions Guide

I know bumping threads is bad, but I want to bump for a reason.

Using this guide will be ablto reduce redundancy and also receive better criticism. I hope this guide would be useful to most of the people in the forums.

Bumping is bad if done multiple times by the OP. Critics can bump all they want.

Anyway, I have an idea for silver ore that I don't think has been done before but... arrow tiers.
Everyone talks about new tiers for tools, swords and armour, but never bows and arrows. My idea is that silver ingots could be used in crafting arrows (replaces flint in the recipe) and basically be arrows with higher damage values. Another optional idea would be to make silver arrows only work against nether creatures, while regular arrows are next to ineffective against them.
Silver could also be used alongside gold for the upcoming NPC trading system.

As other people said, I think guns are unnecessary.

We have the bow, that's good enough.

Maybe when Minecraft has more features and more mobs, guns should be added.

Play any game that has any type of combat, you'll find that there usually is more than one kind that are basically the same item. In Skyrim, for example, the only melee weapon should be the iron sword, because all the others are re-skins of it with different damage values.
Also, I'd like to point out that Minecraft's axe and spade are essentially re-skins of the pickaxe with different damage values. So, to a degree, your correct, a gun would probably be a re-skin of a bow with different damage values, but why is that a bad thing?

I like the general idea, but for me (and probably others) to know what you're talking about you should probably give a link to the gravity well and allocator threads.

This is actually wuite a good idea.
I don't know if ~tbh1138 was saying that as a bad thing, but I definitely would love trolling people around with brown diamond swords and cyan wooden swords XD

That would be pretty fun, and it would add to the stealth aspect of PVP.
I support this, I just don't see any downsides.

Uhh... Aren't dreams supposed to relate to what you did alot of during the day??

Not necessarily, but they do generally relate to the person's experiences. If your a big fan of a game then you would probably dream about that game.

Doom was also on consoles. It first came out on MS DOS, a year later it was on the Atari Jaguar, Sega 32X. In 1995, it was on Playstation, SNES and a lot more consoles. It was probably the most ported FPS game in the 90's.

It's also on the Xbox 360 as an Arcade game, so no. It's not exlusive to PC at all.

Not to mention that the first 2 DOOMs come with the DOOM3 collectors edition on original Xbox. That's 8 consoles (counting PC), hardly an exclusive.

Name 3 great PC exclusive games that are only for PC and have a great singleplayer story to it and came out recently.

    I'm going to edit this:
Name 3 great PC exclusives games that are strictly only for PC and have a campaign with great level design and a great story while also having great multiplayer and came out recently.
Seeing as no one replied to the Thenerdal's question I think he's right.

You wouldn't buy a console for just a game, would you?

No, I wouldn't buy a console for just 1 game, I'd buy it for the many exclusive games available on it. That's why I bought a 360 instead of a PC or a PS3, because all the games I liked were on it.

I am certain that they do not. However, we're getting a little off topic. The focus here should, I think, be to approach the idea of guns from a perspective that there are two very vocal groups here. One who does want guns, and one that does not. So far as I can tell, the side that wants guns has good and well supported reasons why they want them, and will not be quiet until they get their way. Meanwhile, the group that does not want them might be silenced if it is shown, through a solid implementation, that firearms can coexist with the elements already in Minecraft, and won't ruin the game like they fear.

So, most of our efforts should go into finding feasible implementations for these ideas. Or, at the least, producing a convincing set of arguments to show Jeb and his team that it's an avenue of development worth pursuing.

    Very well put.

Also, can we please have some clarification on what exactly is a "gun game" here? It seems to me to be some sort of mythical genre that doesn't actually exist. Do you mean...?
    1. A first person shooter? If so you are wrong, as Minecraft can be played from a first person perspective, and has projectile weapons. (Also there are FPS games that have no guns whatsoever.)
    2. A third person shooter? Still wrong. Minecraft can also be played in third person perspective.
    3. Dual stick shooter? Well, Minecraft isn't that, certainly, but it's not the only kind of game with guns.
    4. Maybe you mean it isn't a game with a modern setting, though. Well...that's wrong too. Guns have been around since before the medieval era, so they fit fine into older settings. Besides, Minecraft doesn't have a time period...and if it did the existence of jukeboxes alone would place it after the invention of the Gatling Gun.
    5. Or did you mean that there can't be guns because there is magic? Let me direct you then to Fable, Warcraft, Boktai, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Final Fantasy (esp. Tactics), and Skies of Arcadia...just to name a few.

I've been wondering this for a while too. I don't think the people who use that term even know...

So I just had this weird TES related dream. Read at your own risk.

Deep below Bruma, two characters from Mass Effect (Shepard and Wrex) are exploring, while using Imperial armor.I know, it's odd.

I wonder what Imperial armour would look like on a Krogan...

posted a message on Why so much hate on FortressCraft?
    Quote from Gigs135

FortressCraft is a complete ripoff no matter what you say. If you look at one and the other, FortressCraft can be directly the same as Minecraft. And if your argument is "Well Minecraft is a copy of InfiniMiner", InfiniMiner is completly different in the way that its in space, it is solely based on Multiplayer, and has many different things about it. The only thing that MC took from IM, is the fact that you mine. FC has taken 99% of the things MC has, the only different thing is that they have blueprints. And why do they even have that? Its a change they chose to make considering that its almost exactly the same as MC. Otherwise its just MC Classic for Xbox. and please don't get me started on why PS3 is better. (Xbox can't argue just because you have MC, whoopee, big whoop.) Ill leave my PS3 VS Xbox argument in a spoiler below...

    PS3 VS Xbox360 rant
First of all, PS3 may not have the best online support, ill admit, but considering the weight of all the other things it does better than Microsoft, it can and does outweigh the online. PS3's exclusives are much better, and there are much more of them. (LBP, Uncharted, Last Of Us, inFamous, Killzone, Resistance) and Xbox has what? Halo and Gears? Also, people say PS3 has **** graphics compared to Xbox, wanna know why? Because Xbox's coding is **** and easy, and considering if developers were like Naughty Dog and took advantage of the 50 or so GB's of Harddrive space, Xbox doesn't compare. Xbox only has 7 or so from a regular old style Disc, and PS3 uses Blu-Ray which can hold about 50 Gigs. (See what i did there ;D), so comparing games like Uncharted 2/3, and Halo, PS3 simply outdoes Xbox. The reason xbox has better multiplatform graphics(not even graphics, PS3 usually just gets rips.) It's only because PS3 gets the port, just like Wii. Because as I said before, xbox has easier code and smaller harddrive space, so it has to be VERY limited to creative expansion and texture. More examples of limitation, IF a company decides to actually do good things, and regardless of the xbox's problems, have the game visually stunning, the Xbox gets more than 1 disc, which isn't good. Overall, I'm not saying Xbox is ****, just compared to PS3, the standards that Microsoft has given the Xbox is below the PS3. One last thing, What kind of a company like Microsoft, which made IE, doesn't put it in their own gaming console? At the very least any other explorer.

Now I feel better after ranting :)

Why did you put an Xbox vs PS3 argument in there? What does it have to do with MC or FC?
Anyway, you're at least partly wrong on both topics, you've forgotten the many features that are in FC but are only available in MC as mods (which doesn't count). Also there are at least 70 exclusives on Xbox, not just Halo and Gears.

That is contradicting. "You can have an opinion, but you don't have a right to have one" - how does that make sense?

Sorry if you misunderstood (and now that I think about it I didn't make it very clear). What I was saying was that you can have a preference but you can't be a **** about it. Example:

    1) I prefer playing CoD to TES because I find it hard to understand what to do and subsequently can only play them for ten minutes at a time without getting bored.

    2) Cod is way better than TES, it sucks.

The first one is a perfectly valid opinion while the second is, well... stupid.
