posted a message on Play-By-Play Announcer for Minecraft Hockey NEEDED! (Minecraft Hockey League, MHO, YouTube Series)

    Hi everyone,

My name is Flashee and I am the creator and founder of Minecraft Hockey aka Blocky Hockey aka Minecraft Hockey Organization (MHO). I'm writing this thread because I am in need of a play-by-play announcer for the hockey games.

    SHORT VERSION:

If you don't want to read all of this, basically in short:

Reply to the thread with a video of you showing your skills if you can be a play-by play announcer for a Minecraft Hockey League. Also read the requirements below. Thanks.

Info: A play-by-play announcer is a sports commentator/announcer who gives a running commentary of a game or event in real time, usually during a live broadcast, traditionally delivered in the historical present tense.

Background on MHO: The MHO is a Hockey league in Minecraft. Although the first season has no begun yet, it will shortly! The game is being developed by self and others currently and is functionally done. We are just adding final touches here and there to make it better than ever! The league consists of 6 teams currently and each team is 1 player (we don't have enough to have 2 players per team). The games works just like real NHL Hockey. There are 3 periods and each are 2 minutes real time. The team with the highest score after 3 periods wins. If it is tied after 3 periods, the games proceeds to a 2 minute, sudden death (first team to score wins) overtime. Then we use NHL Playoff rules from there. Continuous, sudden death overtimes follow each being 2 minutes long. The map required a resource pack because I've re-textured many things to make it feel like a real ice rink. Just to list a few major ones are as follows: White, blue, red ice; red goal posts; better glass; hockey stick and goalie stick; and punny advertisements. There are also custom sound files in the pack which include these: goal horns, crowd ambience, cheering, whistles, and PA Announcer. A few mechanics of the game include these: Hitting the puck with the hockey stick, blocking/saving (blocking it from going through player body) the puck, ect.

MHO cont'd: I already have a schedule for the MHO. Teams play when both players are ready. Arrangements can be made based on YOUR (the play-by-play announcer) time schedule.

YouTube: The MHO will be recorded and aired on YouTube at my channel: Flashee - YouTube

    REQUIREMENTS:

    1. You MUST be 13+ years of age.
    2. You SHOULD be a comfortable speaker.
    3. You MUST have an okay microphone.
    4. You MUST allow us to record your voice and upload it to YouTube.
    5. You do NOT swear while being recorded.
    6. Discord (a mix of Skype and Teamspeak) WILL be required.
    7. You SHOULD have a pretty good understanding of the game of Hockey.
    8. You MUST be mature at least while being recorded.

Info: If you need more information, feel free to reply below any questions at all and I'll try to response as soon as I can.

IMPORTANT!: Please record a short audio clip of yourself call a play. If you have trouble on what to say use this example: .

I watched that video but I'm have a hard time understanding it. I'm not sure if you can clarify but if my "floor level" is at Y=60 then where do I need each layer at (using netherbrick) on the Y. I want to use the 9 layers that TangoTek and ImpulseSV have showcased in their last couple of videos. I've gone ahead and already built 1 layer above my "floor level" three blocks up but I'm getting only pigmen spawns on it. And yes, these are 4 way intersections. Also, cool thing is that I found a quad-Interesction + one. So five all next to each other. Thanks if you can help!

So, every tick you have to do a /title which lasts 1 tick, fades in in 1 tick and fades out in 1 tick. We can do that with this command before your /title command block : /title times 1 1 1. Then, put your title command. Now you're done with the timer part. If you need help on transitions between the periods, don't mind asking !

Hey, minecraft jsons doesn't seem to have the objectives for title and subtile. Btw, can you join my server to help out?

Just use this website : https://www.minecraftjson.com/

I know how to create jsons. I dont know how to connect all the objects, titles, ect all together with the command blocks. You are not really explaining that.

So you need to use /title with objectives in it.

But first, you need to have a "minutes" objective and a "seconds" objectives.

Ok, once I do that how do I do it from there? Can you explain how to make the minutes and seconds work? If you can join the server I am working on, just ask. I can be on tomorrow.

posted a message on Need assistance with the coordinates argument in a Command Block.

You should use this command instead:

    /give @p[x=76,y=40,z=6,r=1] leather_chestplate 1

By having the radius 50 blocks, players 50 or less blocks away may get the items instead of the player tripping the pressure plate.

posted a message on Countdown Timer w/ Subtitle Display Help!

So I'm making a Hockey MiniGame and I would like to add a countdown timer for the 3 different periods (a hockey is broke into 3 "half times" called periods 20 minutes each). In my game, I want each period to last 2 minutes. Here is my progress so far:

The ArmorStand is named: "Count". From the purple command block to the last chain, the commands are:

This command will add 1 to Timer for the ArmorStand 20 times every second.

    /scoreboard players add @e[type=ArmorStand,name=Count] Timer 1

Is it adds 1 to Timer 20 times per second then that means when it hits 20, 1 second has passed.

The Period1 object begins with a score of 120 because that = 2 minutes. Every time the score of Timer = 20, it subtracts 1 from Period1.

The command to start the period is: /scoreboard players set @e[name=Count] Period1 120

    /scoreboard players remove @e[name=Count,score_Timer_min=20] Period1 1

I then must make sure when Timer = 20, it resets back to 0 to count back to 20 again.

    /scoreboard players set @e[name=Count,score_Timer_min=20] Timer 0

And to make sure that Period1 never goes below 0, I added this to the end.

    /scoreboard players set @e[name=Count,score_Period1=0] Period1 0

Now, all of this works. What I want to do is have a way to display the countdown timer in the title screen as a subtitle. Here is an example of what I mean. Team Wooloo does this in their maps:

If anymore information is needed let me know. Thank to all who can help.

That worked! Thank you very much!

PS: The comma before the x= shouldn't be there but I believe you just typo-ed it; lol

I'm unsure to be honest. I usually use $${$$<textfile.txt>$$}$$

EDIT: LOL i messed up xD

    Here is the fixed code.

    http://pastebin.com/LBnccL2g

It works just fine when you fix that issue. Copy this code instead. My bad lol

    Edit like number 70:

I forgot to add back in the playsound(custom.alert) into there lol. Replace the "log(test)" with "playsound(custom.alert)" without the quotes.

YOU NEARLY GOT ME BANNED FOR SPAM! Someone said my name and it went wacko! It started spamming the chat insanely.

None of that code is server specific. Remember to put that in your OnChat event and change &player = FantomHD to your name. Add a Log("test") right after the play sound to make sure its not the sound thats not working.

I've done that. Put my name. I made its own file though. Then on the onChat I put $$<alert.text>

    Is that wrong?
