I believe that the tabs looked better when they looked somewhat like grass blocks. I believe that the forum could stick with the smooth new look, but might be a bit better if the tabs bared some resemblance to the original tabs. Thank you- Me.
So I created a new skin for the new skinning system a while ago, and it didn't work (none of the top layers would show) so I assumed it was a glitch, and would be fixed in future updates, but it still doesn't work, and I have seen videos with working skins. I have come to the conclusion that I have done something wrong. So I will post the skin and see if anyone can help.
And Yes, it looks really dumb without the extra layers.

So I was on my friends server, which is still running 1.6.4, and I was making a big sugar cane farm across the coast in a swamp. I missed the ground with one of my right clicks and something interesting happened.
So I was obviously confused, and I did a bit more experimenting, still in 1.6.4.
I haven't tried it outside of this server in 1.6.4, but it seems like it would probably work in more up to date versions. I assume because the top is exposed to air, and it has water one block below and to the side, it thinks it is in a correct position, seeing as it didn't work away from the edge or any lower. This may be an interesting way to expand shoreline sugar cane farms.
