There are a bunch of posts on facepunch. Here's a thread
Apparently there's a fix in there.

I find the AWP really useful. I use it to clear bombsite B from tunnels in Dust2, or for clearing the people at A from long quite a bit. It's also great for defending. But it is easily countered with a flash and/or multiple people.

I'm just talking about how a bunch of people on other sites are hating on this because it's EA, but then move on to another thread to praise Valve and Sony for doing the exact same thing.
Although I have to agree Valve and Sony are doing it better. Microsoft's free game program is getting slightly better, but still lackluster compared to Sony's. And Valve just has way better sales.

Note that I'm not targeting this at the above comment. I just see crap like this everywhere.

I get your point. Sometimes later games are worse because of a lost vision, or important members left from previous games. Or they're getting milked, and things that sell are fancy graphics. I think you may just need to expand your horizon a bit to see all the great games that don't get as much coverage as the worse ones.

I think your generalizing quite a bit. Rushed launches are becoming more rampant it seems, but I've played tons of modern games with adequate content. Borderlands, Spec Ops: The Line, Brothers, Dark Souls, Sleeping Dogs, Counter Strike Global Offensive, Batman Arkham City, both Metro games, Just Cause 2, Bastion, Torchlight 2, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Guacamelee!, Mark of the Ninja, Spelunky, Mirror's Edge, Tomb Raider are all examples that I can think of off the top of my head. Only a few of these are from early 2010.
But my point is, you seem to be paying attention to the more popular games like the new Simcity, Aliens CM, BF4, and your CoDs. There are plenty of great games today.

But I'm thinking about switching to UE4 from Unity. I don't really plan on selling my games, so the 5% gross revenue cut doesn't really matter to me. I'm fine with paying $20 every couple/few months to get a good update. It's better than buying plugins off the Asset Store in my case. If I wanted visual scripting, it'd cost an additional $95, if I wanted a better GUI system, that's about $65, and if I wanted better level creation tools, that's another $95.

And now Crytek has announced there $10/month plan for their engine. I wonder if Unity will do anything, since this just happened after the version 5 announcement.

I don't really have a favorite engine for playing games, though. I guess Unreal Engine?

There are a plethora of other games on sale, too. I picked up Planescape and Baldur's Gate 2 for about $11.

But when I play like that I usually get like two deaths. And sometimes I just lurk around spots people don't usually look in. There always seem to be a certain "battle area" in the map where everyone goes to. I just hide around the outskirts of it and sneak kills.
