sounds kind of cool... though in terms of implementing, it might be better ro have light filter blocks, then they could be used for any light source, torches, lanterns, sunlight, etc... thought *THAT* might be even harder to implement... would require a pretty dynamic lighting engine.
No, the lighting you see from regular torches ingame is actually colored, beleive it or not. They would just have to modify some colors.
Not a bad idea, but sounds like it would have to be implemented like maps, so a limited amount of them would be possible in a world... and THAT would not be fun. Would make more sense, and probably be easier to implement, with some more standardized redstone blocks, like with the repeaters.
Why would it have to be limited? Theres no reasoning to it.
This isn't a bad idea. This has crossed my mind a couple of times, but I see it is a good idea after you posted it. :smile.gif:
The items you place on the microchip should be crafted to be micro, like a micro-redstone torch. Then you will have to place the items from your inventory. :smile.gif:
There is one problem: How do you craft in micro?
EDIT: WHOA. One big problem. The redstone needs to go to a block and come from an input. Otherwise, what would a computer do? The microchip will need an input and an output. So will computers. A redstone charge going into the input of the computer will pretended the computer is a redstone circuit, continuing out the output of the computer. :smile.gif:
It will be crafted in a special gui that pops up, and you will link the chips by phyisical redstone outside of the chip. (if i place a redstone at the top of the micro chip gui right in the center, that will be the output place)
Didn't even bother to read the whole thing, cuz I'm already supporting. It could also be like chests, if you put the chips near eachother it just makes bigger grids.
Don't you hate how the only ambient lighting you can get is from a red torch? And that only makes the room seem darker! I think you should be able to take dye and use it on the torches to make different colored torches (Ex. Blue Torch, Red Torch)
= dye
= torch
= blank
Maybe it could possibly be color changable by redstone wiring to create colored LCD screens?
Make your suggestions below, and support.
Like I said, it is possible, but your character and other objects can still fall through, and it takes up a lot of redstone ore and space in your world if your doing something massive.
Let's face it, filtering water isn't easy or fun to do. If you can do it, it could glitch and it may take a lot of world space and materials. We need a solution, I say grates. Incase you don't know what a grate is, it's a flat version of a strainer basically.
The crafting recipie?
= blank
So how will the grate actually look?
It will sit flat on the ground (like the trapdoor) and can be rotated sideways and such (depending on where you click to place the block.
The player will NOT be able to walk through or fall through the grate. Water and lava will be the only things that can pass through.
Give me some more suggestions for what it could be like, and give me some criticism.

Texture packs won't speed up your game, theres a certain amount of memory set aside to use on minecraft.

We want a controllable light though.

I hate mods, we want it in the real game.

Also it could be powered by redstone, but with water rushing through places with redstone it could glitch up, I'm not sure about that.
