How could they screw the combat up further?

I like the cheesy combat. It made the game unique and different from every other game.

There is something I am wondering about... I have a computer with 8gb... allocated 6gb for chunky... and the render for a 600x400 picture is by now running 10 hours and it is still telling me that it is not yet finished while using all available cpu's to maximum...is that normal with chunky?

It doesn't tell you when it's finished, you stop it when you think it looks good enough.

what's gml? Also I'm really glad someone figured out how to post a game finally :D

It sounds nooby but it stands for gamemaker language. The program I'm using is called gamemaker, but it's not some cheesy drag and drop (well it is but if you want to do anything in the slightest complexity you need to code it)

Free versions of it has a watermark and I bought the full version so there won't be a watermark.

Also it will only be available on windows (exe file runs the game)

also please define 'etc.' in coding i'd like to know more ;D

Hmm, I know some basic c++ and javascript but not much.

Hey guys, I'm here today to post a thread about the game that I'm going to be making over the next couple of months. I'm trying to make a ZAS (Zombie Apocalypse Simulator). So basically an open world zombie game making it as realistic as I can.

Here's some basic info about the game:
    - It will be 2D (Sorry but I don't have the artistic skills to make it 3D)
    - It will be played from a top-down perspective
    - The entire world will be randomly generated
    - Hunger, thirst, ect.
    - Randomly generated cities, towns, ect.
    - Realistic zombies (react to light, sound, ect.)
    - No special zombies (remember this is trying to be as realistic as possible)
    - Enter any building, inside of buildings will be randomly generated and will have multiple floors
    - Vehicles
    - Find other AI survivors, make friends, or become enemies!
    - Fortify areas with barricades and other things you build
    - Sandbox mode (the one that will be showcased on this thread) and Campaign (I'm going to be sneaky and release minimal info on this mode)
    - Multiplayer support, host your own server
    - 8x8 textures per block (sorry my artistic skills suck) (hopefully I can add custom texture support with higher res textures)
    - It will be made using Java
    - and a lot more...

For those of you who are going to say "This guy doesn't know coding and this game will be a piece of **** won't work the way he says it will"

I do know coding, I know java, lua, ect.

I'm going to code the game using Java.

If you want to stay updated on this game just follow the thread, I will try to post updates daily.

    LOG:
7/14/2012 - Started work on textures and created the thread. Writing down more ideas for the game and thinking out how I'm going to write certain parts of code.

7/15/2012 - More work on textures and planning the game in a bit more depth. Going to create a chart of items and their uses soon. Trying to figure out how zombies are going to spawn. Looking over some things in Java and refreshing my memory a bit.

7/16/2012 - I was busy at the gym today and I have a skate to go to in a bit. Decided I should take a little break and chill for the day. I'm planning on doing lot's of work tomorrow and possibly later tonight.

Please any suggestions post them down below.

If you can help at all with art and sound please shoot me a PM. I'm trying to keep most of the work to my self but I have no source of sounds and my textures aren't the greatest looking.

Can anyone put "herobrine" in that photograph? It's for an elaborate hoax.

It can be anywhere as long as it looks real. Thanks to whoever does this in advance.

As far as I know this isn't a request forum.

I'm not much of an architect, so the most impressive thing I've spent time on building was back in 1.7 beta, where I built a beachside house with a 5-block-deep moat, a roof with 4 posts full of torches on each quadrant of the floor, and a giant netherrack monument that goes up to the sky and has fire burning on the top for easy discovery of my home in case I get lost (this was before I found out about the minimap mod). The interior had 4x4 windows on every wall, sandstone floors, glowstone on the ceiling, chests, crafting tables & furnaces in one little area against a wall, stairs leading up to the roof and a hole that connects to the mine I was getting my resources from. The front door had a bridge over the moat, and I had 2 side doors: one led to the dock I built that extended into the ocean, another lead to a glass platform above the ocean that held a nether portal at the end of it.

As you can tell by the giant wall of text I just typed out, I was very proud of it. Not the most impressive building that can be created, but it was pretty damn great for a simple little house. Unfortunately, I lost my way of navigation and had to rebuild another house in the middle of a forest :/

    Ewww... minimap mod...

Anyways, I don't have any impressive builds yet, at least not in legit. I like to go in creative and make things :D

Just be patient. If you only let them get to know each other for two ingame days, they may have just not felt like making babies. You've got to let their relationship flourish, albeit inside a horrible underground prison cell.

just wait a bit. And maybe make the room smaller. They probably never noticed each other.

    Lol...

(Please only post medieval styled buildings) I'm bored waiting for someone to reply to my permissions problem, so I want an idea of what I can build. I've already built a church and an Inn.

By the way see if you can help me here? http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1351945-permissionsbukkit-not-adding-new-players/ :/
