(This does NOT mean I will stop updating Rune Master, Ink Master just takes higher priority)
Rune Master is a magic based mod about taking the natural energy of Minecraft and harnessing it. The magic is channeled through magical symbols, also known as runes. These runes will allow for different items and blocks to help you in your world. Some of the things Rune Master can do is: Buff players, weaken mobs, and most importantly make bowls of salt
To get started with Rune Master you will need to make two items salt and mage bloom bulbs. They are crafted by surrounding 8 stone around a piece of clay for salt (temporary recipe) and 8 dandelions around a glowstone dust for mage bloom bulbs. The next thing you will need to do is get enchanted crystals crafted with one nether quartz and one mage bloom bulb. After that you will need to make bowls of salt which is a bowl and salt then combine that salt with a enchanted crystal to get enchanted salt. Next combine the enchanted salt with a bottle of water to get a bottle of enchanted water. Add the bowl of enchanted water with a weak catalyst to get arcane sludge. With this arcane sludge you are ready to make runic orbs and staffs to make the weak runic orb put a acane sludge on top of a piece of coal on top of a gold ingot. (all of the other orbs are crafted the same just replace the coal with a diamond or supercharged crystal) To start making staffs you will need a staff core made out of 4 gold in a fork shape, then put that staff core in the center of the crafting grid with a enchanted crystal underneath and a runic orb on top in the case of the fire staff that is a reinforced runic orb (the diamond one) with 2 pieces relating to that element, voila you now have one of the four primary staffs (Fire: blaze powder, Water: raw fish, Earth: smooth stone, Air: feathers) To make a secondary staff is almost the same recipe just replace the core with a arcane sludge and the elemental items with the 2 primary staffs that would make that element.
I know its still early in development, but this is really decent for a first attempt. Lots of potential! It'll be interesting to see what you do with it. I already have a request for a first machine/block too, lol. Something that repairs damaged armor/items would be great. Its something that is surprisingly uncommon in modded minecraft and what few methods do exist, are somewhat poorly implemented.
Anyways, thanks for the mod and I hope you keep at it!
This looks awesome! I might download it tonight when I have some time to play with it :3 Is there any info related to how to get started with the mod or current features? I'd love to jump right into this.
Yeah, the forum has been kinda wonky since the update. Some of the changes are great and some are terrible. Either way it seems like a lot of devs are having a nightmare of a time updating their OPs. The new info and pics are helpful. Thanks for that!
Its petty, but any thoughts on making the salt ore dict compatible? It'd be cool to use harvestcraft or other mod's salt if available. Like I said though, its a petty little thing.
That should be possible I will try to add that I can't dev right now because of both my monitors breaking I should be able to start again in a about a week or two
I have began work on a new mod and I am open to suggestions
