The actual download link is located in the sidebar on the right hand side of the page linked above.
IRCLinqed will upon launch attempt to connect to Varden Development's servers to obtain your public IP address, or use a fallback if the servers can't be reached. IRCLinqed will try to connect to these URLs, starting from the top, proceeding down the list if failing to fetch the address:
No personally identifiable data will be sent to any of these URLs.
This behavior is necessary for IRCLinqed's DCC function to work properly. Should you not wish this behavior, you may turn it off in IRCLinqed's core settings (//irc config). Doing this will force IRCLinqed to get your IP only by using the refresh IP command (//irc refreship).
Please note that in a later update, it will be possible to have IRCLinqed fetch the IP address automatically when initiating a DCC connection. This feature will be turned on by default. This means it must be turned off manually if you do not wish to use the feature. The addition of this feature will be announced in the changelog post and will be reflected in this privacy notice when time comes.
If you read this, I'd be extremely happy:
I've spent over two months developing this mod. The jar file download (0.1.7b) weighs 335 KiB, which translates to 570 KiB of uncompressed class files. This is the equivalent of over four hundred thousand keystrokes on my keyboard, or over 12,000 lines of code. I have sacrificed precious time of my vacation for writing all of that. I've struggled with countless headaches and problems dealing with understanding how Minecraft's core works, and how to correct some really strange bugs in my code.
Keep in mind that this is all volunteer work. I saw a problem and a potential solution to fix it - this mod. I do this for you - I spend too much of my time writing code to create things you can have use of. The only thing I ask in return for all of this is that you respect my mod's license. Do not come telling me I have no rights to enforce my license. The Minecraft EULA explicitly says I have all rights to my mod.
If you feel like sharing this mod, I won't stop you - however, you must link to my official download link. Attempts to re-host this mod somewhere else is disrespectful and refusal to comply with the one thing I ask of you for using this mod. It is also a definitive breach of my mod's licence.
What if you had asked someone to make something for you? Asked someone to spend several months on creating something for you without earning a single penny in the process? When he was done, would you just take his work and blatantly ignore all of his pleas without even saying thank you? I doubt you would. And I expect you don't do it to me either.
Given the short description above, it's kind of clear what it is. If you don't know what IRC is, then all you need to know is that it is an online chatting platform, where you can create chat rooms and have private chats.
To use IRC today, one normally needs separate applications, like mIRC or XChat. For people using both IRC and Minecraft, it may in the long run become quite boring to swap between the two windows. So why not just merge them both into one?
IRCLinqed aims to be a fully-fledged IRC client for use with the in-game Minecraft chat gui. A list of features follows below:
If you have any suggestions, feel free to reply and suggest! Also, I know there's a thing called ForgeIRC, but I want this to be, well.. much better!
Some quick info on how the mod is to be used:
Everything happens with the help of //irc command and # (number sign) in chat. These will be configurable in the final release. Configuration will be done using GUIs, so no need to edit configuration files! (You shouldn't, as it could break the mod!)
List of planned commands (in chat box):
# irc_chat
Example: # Hey
Use to chat with people on the currently selected IRC channel/network.
# irc_commands
Example: # /join #example
Use to perform commands on IRC.
//irc autosend
Example: //irc autosend
Toggles whether or not one has to precede a message with "# " to send it to IRC.
//irc config
Example: //irc config
Opens the IRCLinqed configuration GUI.
//irc connect !alias
Example: //irc connect !esper
Opens a connection to a server using a user-configured alias.
//irc connect all
Example: //irc connect all
Opens connections to all servers on the server list.
//irc connect favorites
Example: //irc connect favorites
Opens connections to all IRC servers on the favorites list.
//irc connect server(:port)
Example: //irc connect irc.esper.net
Opens a connection to a server by IP address at the specified port. If no port is specified, 6667 is chosen.
//irc disconnect !alias
Example: //irc disconnect !esper
Sends a quit message to the server associated with the user-configured alias and closes the connection.
//irc disconnect all
Example: //irc disconnect all
Disconnects from all connected servers.
//irc disconnect network_name
Example: //irc disconnect EsperNet
Sends a quit message to the server associated with the given network name and closes the connection.
//irc disconnect server(:port)
Example: //irc disconnect irc.esper.net
Sends a quit message to the server at the specified IP and port (or port 6667 if no port is given) and closes the connection.
In IRCLinqed, a whole lot of things will be configurable.
Mod wide settings:
- Replace //irc and # with something else, like //chat or !
- Set command aliases
Server specific settings:
- Auto-connect
- Set as favorite server
- Auto-join channels
- NickServ password
- Set alias
Again, if you have suggestions or feedback, please come with them!
That's it for this time! Oh, and by the way, here's a screenshot showing current progress:
I'm outta here for now, but I'll come back with updates for sure!
I AM NOT YOUR PERSONAL MINECRAFT MOD SUPPORT AGENT, SO PLEASE DO NOT PM ME ABOUT PROBLEMATIC MODS THAT ARE NOT MINE. If you're having trouble/crashes with a mod, you'll have better luck resolving it in this forum section than PMing me. If you already made a topic, be patient about responses. If you have troubles with anything non-Minecraft related on your PC, I might be able to help, though, but no promises. Even though I could wish to be, I'm not a wizard.

Does this work with twitch chat? I can't find a way to enter the OAuth token
I found the nickserv password, but the character limit is too small
IRCLinqed is only designed for IRC chat - I don't have time to implement Twitch support as well, if so then that would be in a far future update to the mod. As for the text box character limit.. I'll look into it. I've also found a bug that prevents logging in with NickServ, will fix that soon too. Hoping to push an update fixing that in the next few hours or so!

I started development for 1.6.4, and due to big code changes I'd like to finish off there before moving on to 1.7. A lot has to be rewritten, so I have to ensure it works first

Not able to connect to password protected irc servers.
Oops. How could I forget about those? Will be in next update, not sure when I'll get that out as I'm heading to Thailand today. Will work on it ASAP though. If you want, I can PM you when I'm done.

That would be fixed now. Enter server password in the server's connection settings
