The first time i used a fishing rod was in my very first world, when i wanted to get a saddle!
It took me 1 and a half rod to get one. After realising how much fun it makes to ride a horse in a forest,
i didn't fish for a long time.
That was untill i discovered that fishing can be automized to get enchanted books...
Nowdays i am a nomad. I spend the most time traveling the overworld of singleplayer worlds and servers.
The fishing rod seems to be a good tool for a playstile like mine but i rarely use it. It is incredibly useful on anarchy servers,
where you have to travel 10k blocks from nuked spawns to finally find trees. A true live saver indeed!
It's also a good choice if you want a full enchanted bow.
But what about books?
In my opinion it's not a good choice if you want enchanted books.
You need incredible luck to get what you want in a short time and afk fishing isn't allowed on most servers.
On top of that fishing was nerfed again in 1.16
I think that's strange. Fishing for books is already so boring, why was it nerfed this way:
In order to catch items in the treasure category, the bobber must be in open water. This is technically defined as the 5×4×5 vicinity around the bobber (2 blocks away horizontally, 2 blocks above the water surface, and 2 blocks deep)
True, you can buld yourself a save treasure-fishing house in short time. But the AFK fishing machines have also been nerfed.
When i saw Ilmangos new design i thought: Yeah thanks but no thanks. I'm using auto-fish modifications now.
And i don't think it's morally wrong.
I mean... you rightclick and wait. Without fishing-enchantments i feel like i should be fishing in real life instead of wasting electricity.
But this thread isn't about if it should be allowed to autofish on servers.
It's just about sharing your thought's about fishing in general.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
My projects:
-are abandoned for now. I might pick 'em up in the future.
For now i'm working on a private modpack that suit's my own playstyle.
I am gonna stay in modded 1.12.2 untill my potato dies. No mercy! :Q
