Recently I found out that sometimes my MC1.11.2 only uses 1% of CPU from 30-40% normally. This causes the fps to be constantly at zero and I can't even close it off without using Task Manager. Nothing is running other than Google Chrome, MC and Task Manager.
The total CPU usage is only at 31% from 50-60% when MC runs perfectly.

If you leave it runninng for a while, does it say Java has stopped working or Minecraft has stopped working?

Try closing out Google Chrome, it can actually have issues running alongside Minecraft. It's happened to me before several times.

After that, try the new launcher again
