So on my server every once and a while the server kicked everyone and when someone tries to join back they get the message 'Failed to verify username' I have set the server into offline mode and this just erased player data once they joined back. It is now back in online mode. I use a server hosting website and they really have been no help. I can't seem to find a common pattern between the "crashes". I say crashes like that because the server doesn't crash, but it doesnt let anyone on. When I stop the server and start it again it seems to fix the issue until it happens again.
Typically, the cause of this issue is that the client launcher has failed to authenticate with Mojang's session servers. ... If the copy of the game was not paid for, then the error will be triggered due to the server running in online mode. It can, however, be changed to offline mode McDVOICE

If you have issues with a hosting company, talk to them as you're paying for hosting AND their support. Otherwise find a better host.
