Hey I’ve never done this before so please don’t criticize me if I’ve done something wrong.
I am having trouble with my server and a specific friend joining.
I downloaded the server from minecraft.net and set it up, it works great, I can join. One of my friends can join, no problems at all....
I had different friend download minecraft java edition and try to join my server and they keep getting “Connection Lost: Times Out”.
we are all running the same version, my friend makes it into the server, no terrain loads but the player ID is added to the correct file.
I have no clue why this is not working for a specific player. In addition, they are able to join public servers which makes this ever more confusing.
Hopefully that is adequate information, anyone who has any information I would be more then happy to try stuff out!
Just in case that does not work, here's a copy of the important yet not so significant error message.
[20:17:59] [Server thread/INFO]: minerjvr joined the game
[20:18:29] [Server thread/INFO]: minerjvr lost connection: Disconnected
[20:18:29] [Server thread/INFO]: minerjvr left the game
My current download speed is 9.8Mbps with a ping of 35ms which seems oddly slow but I am able to have certain friends connect to the server, just not on in particular.
In addition, my friend who can not connect is using a new MacBook Pro and recently downloaded minecraft java edition. Although I they did not install java them self. Would this pose any issues trying to connect to the server?
Oh okay that’s unfortunate but thank you for helping with the issue.
This confuses me a little bit because all my other friends can join fine and I have also hosted many server in the past. Any clue why it may effect a certain person/home or network more then others?
