I waited for that to finish running and then opened up Minecraft and typed localhost into Direct Connect and it loaded the server fine.
At that point I checked the port using online port checking services such as CanYouSeeMe and Port Checker.
When I checking to see if Port 25565 was open on my public IP, the checkers stated that it was closed.
Regardless, I was told that my friends would be able to join the server through the public IP provided by ipchicken.com
When they attempted to join, they were blocked. I don't remember the message that was given when they tried to join, I'll have to get back to you guys on that.
I've tried looking up solutions to my problem and most of them stated that the port should be open.
Solutions I've attempted:
1. adding exceptions for Java to Windows Defender and WIndows FIrewall, checked port, nope.
2. disabled Windows Defender, checked port, nope.
3. changing my connection from Public Network to Private Network.
4. even using Hamachi, which generally should work, doesn't.
I think if I can't even use hamachi to have friends connect, that's a problem.
Really hoping you guys can help me with this, thanks!
