Hi! My friend and I wants to play Minecraft together, but we do not understand how. We tried creating a singelplayer game that we open for LAN, and we've tried creating a server on multiplayer, but none of those have worked. Every time we search for answers it just looks so damn comlicated, and we have no idea what we're supposed to do. It feels like you have to be a computer genius to make it work. We don't live togheter, but we live next to each other. Can't we play because we're not on the same network?
I mean, since you're next to each other they can connect to your network using Wi-Fi. Open to LAN and they can connect using the IP address "localhost" without the quotes.
I tried ATERNOS and it works great! Was a bit confusing to figure out how to do, but this tutorial really helped, in case anyone else needs it. Thansk for the help you guys!!
If you can get on the same wifi, you can open to LAN. Just be sure your firewall has been opened for Minecraft. If you can't get on the same network, you can setup port forwarding but if you think this requires a genius to get working you may be better off doing as they suggest and getting a hosted server instead. Much less hassle.
