I have been running a server for a few weeks now with some friends. It started out as vanilla but then I migrated over to a forge server. The friend who is having troubles (A) connected and played just fine when it was vanilla server, but then took a bit of a break. Now that A is trying to connect again, we quadruple checked A had the correct mods installed, and the correct version of Forge client, but every time A tries to connect to the server, it won't let A connect. The 25565 port is forwarded properly, and as mentioned, no one else has issues connecting. A can connect to other servers as well.
[20:10:48.237] [User Authenticator #21/INFO] [minecraft/ServerLoginNetHandler]: UUID of player [A's USERNAME] is [A's ID]
[20:10:49.383] [Server thread/INFO] [minecraft/ServerLoginNetHandler]: com.mojang.authlib.GameProfile@787a9073[id=[A's ID],name=[A's USERNAME],properties={textures=[com.mojang.authlib.properties.Property@4952148]},legacy=false] (/[A's IP ADDRESS]) lost connection: Disconnected
To be clear, if it wasn't obvious, I removed A's identifying info above in the server logs.
Every time A attempts to connect, the above is what I see in the server logs. I've googled for hours and tried everything I can think of, but I can't find any answers on google (as rare as that is) and nothing has come from the fruits of my troubleshooting, which included:
-reinstalling A's Minecraft client
-forge client, resetting A's router
-restarting A's computer
-restarting the server
-starting the server with online mode false
-launching the server as vanilla using a backup
Any and all help and suggestions are much appreciated, I am completely at a loss right now as to what to do
7/31 Edit: Just started a 1.14.4 vanilla world to test on the same host computer and A can connect to that using a vanilla client, but still not my Forge server
Does it happen on one world or are others affected?
A can connect now to a vanilla world on the same host computer, that world uses port 25555, I tested out using that port on the Forge server as well but same results. Any ideas as to what can be causing this on the Forge server specifically? and if it's on my end or A's?
Just tried again, this time I copied the whole server folder (in order to not screw up my actual server) and ran it as vanilla instead of with the forge client, A can connect to the server in it's vanilla state. This obviously leads me to believe it's something with my Forge server, what however, I have no idea.
Also, at one point while installing mods, it regenerated the world and changed the seed, I didnt realize until i loaded some new chunks and got some weird borders where it was using the new seed, so I went into NBT editor and changed the seed back to the old seed, everything worked fine for me and everyone else who joined since as well. I thought maybe it was a corrupt player data and whatnot, so I deleted A's player data and achievements .dat and .json files and same error when trying to join, so I figured it wasn't those.
Unless you can restore from backup there's not. Make regular backups.
Are you certain it's corrupted? Based on the logs and the ability for others and myself to join and the fact that deleting A's player data and achievements did nothing leads me to beleive that it is unlikely that corruption is the case no?

Probably a corrupted world then.
Is there any way to fix that without restarting the world, aka while keeping everything I've built and all progress etc?
