I've been trying to start up a 1.14.3 server for my friends and I to play on, and I am having trouble connecting to it from another computer in the same network. The ipv4 address for the server computer is 192.168.1.220, and when trying to connect to that IP from 192.168.1.85, I get "io.netty.channel.AbstractChannel$AnnotatedConnectExeception: Connection timed out: no further information:". The thing that puzzles me is that I can connect to it while on the server computer, both using 192.168.1.220 and localhost, but not through the external IP (which I have already port forwarded), which makes me think there could be a problem connecting to the computer. However, pinging 192.168.1.220 works, and I've been remote accessing it. The thing that seems most likely to be the problem is the firewall, but all of the Java(TM) Platform SE binary apps are allowed for both public and private networks. I also have the latest Java version (211). One thing that does seem odd is that when installing the newest version it wasn't recognized in the firewall, and I had to manually add javaw.exe, so it's possible that I am missing something still. I just don't know what. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Here's a picture of the firewall with all the boxes checked on Java.
Nvm, I figured out a solution. It was the firewall. I disabled it entirely and got it to work. I then put in an exception for port 25565 for both TCP and UDP connections and reenabled the firewall. It works perfectly!
