A few weeks ago, I decided to open a small server for me and some of my friends to play together. I tried to setup correctly, and it ran well on my computer and some pc on my network.I tried to port forwarding correctly but when I check port 25565 (i've set it for minecraft before) on http://www.portchecktool.com/ but it said "Connection timed out". I followed to and about allowed connection in windows firewalls but it didn't help when connect to the server with my external ip.Then I used wan ip to connect and it worked!. I checked the wan ip on https://www.whatismyip.com/ but it was invalid. I also set my computer ip to static ip but it still couldn't
So what can I do now? Maybe my ISP blocked me port forwarding, right?
Trying to connect to your own server with external IP won't work whatsoever. Always use that website to check for open ports. Have you tried completely disabling your firewall/antivirus?
