I'm currently trying to troubleshoot for an issue I've encountered while trying to launch a Minecraft server. I got it up and running when I port forwarded it on my router, but since I often switch between two homes (divorced parents), it only works at one of the houses. I've successfully gotten people to join my server using my public IP address and the port at one of the houses, and not the other, which is the weird part. It's difficult for me to tell if I've properly port forwarded the router at the house where it doesn't work, because when I enter the rule, in the table where all the rules are supposed to show up, none of them do. I know they still exist though, because if I try to create another rule using the same IP and ports (my public IP and 25565), it redirects me, using the message of how I've already created a rule entitled to what I've tried. I've tried troubleshooting to see why the rule doesn't show up in the table, but it looks like my problem is unique.
The weirdest part about it, in my opinion, is that it won't even connect properly when I'm launching the server from the same computer I'm trying to play it on, because friends aren't always on at the same time I am, so I get bored and decide to advance on the Minecraft server. At the house where it works it works just fine, but the house where it doesn't, it just tries loading for a couple minutes and gives me the "java.net.ConnectionException: Connection timed out: no further information:" error.
I know that my firewalls are fine, because I can check the "netstat" command in command prompt and see how my 25565 port is unlocked and listening, but websites like Canyouseeme.org can't see 25565 from my IP address. I know that they're all working just fine as well, because when I go to the house where it does work (and, keep in mind, I haven't changed anything), Canyouseeme.org can easily see my port. Also, yes, I've tried using the two different public IP addresses for my server (with the :25565), but both of them didn't work at the house where they don't.
If someone knows what the issue here is, please inform me of it. It's quite annoying, as the house where it doesn't work is the house where I have the most free time. If anyone needs any further information, like what anything looks like, inform me. Thanks in advance!
