When my friends try to join my minecraft server, they always receive the timed out error message. I use port 54321, and they use the correct ip. XX.XX.XX.XX:54321. The console says they are joining in, but get timed out. Before they get timed out, their client says loading terrain. Please help!
No. Most of them have no idea about networking and port forwarding gibberish.
your upload is simply too low for them to be able to connect, if they turn their render distance all the way down to 2 they may be able to connect then turn it up slowly again

that upload is a bit on the slow side for minecraft... might be your problem, have you tried getting them to host and connecting to them?
